That's the XPresso screwing you up. It's fun to play with and useful when picking where to have puddles, but when time comes to render I would recommend just disabling the XPresso and copying the noise texture into all the linked channels.
Your reel and the work include on your Behance page are awesome. Nicely done. Thanks for this tutorial. I've always wondered how difficult it would be to create these wet puddles in C4D's native renderer. Seems like the Octaners pulled a fast one on us.
Yeey new Tutorial! I've been watching basically all of your Videos today, really like them! I think i never learned this much new in such a short ammount of time:)
I love this tutorial. Thanks a lot for doing this saved me a bunch of time figuring out how to do puddles ;] Love the humour and aristocratic music in the background ;D
Nice idea, followed it and got a great result. Unfortunately, when I tried to implement it in an animation (R19), I got "Out of Memory" messages extremely quickly, even during 320x240 preview. Got 32GB of RAM and 6GB VRAM, so it's not really a memory problem, but I don't think C4D likes piping around textures this way. As you mentioned, it can be finicky. It may be that adding any animation (I added some animated noise to the bump to simulate rain), screws things up. It always rendered the first frame correctly though. In the end, I just baked the processing down. Once you have it all set, you can just delete the XPresso tag, and those piped-in shaders will remain locked in place.
i just found your channel yesterday...man, you have some serious techniques going on, while being hilarious :D this one here blew my mind. i tried to use xpresso for some poor mans node based material editor but i failed due to missing inputs. never even thought about just draggin it onto the node.
There's not much to it. The modelling was just boxes for the street, and the rest of the crap was pre-made models. The lighting is just two coloured Area Lights, one each side of the street, as well as street lights above the street.
Sorry, I'm new to the program. This project is very beautiful. And I want it to do. But the ending does not work. How did the light and background? In the final I get a green floor . and what blew up the asphalt? Let me see the project?
The asphalt part is pretty much the same technique as in this tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/l6sY4KILjAs/v-deo.html And if your floor goes green / yellow now and then, just disable the X-Presso bits and it should work fine.
Hi. Help me please! I can not get rid of the Bump completely from the water. Blend channel simply changes the "water height".(Sorry for Google translate)
Daniel, great tutorials! I see that you are using physical render, what are your thoughts on Octane, or some 3rd party renderers? I am thinking about render that can fit into my workflow with cinema.
I like Arnold. It's built like a tank, with just as much power. It is however about as fast as a tank. It'll get there in the end no matter what, but it might not get you there the fastest. I'm intrigued by Redshift too though, but I haven't tried it yet.
For some reason my color texture isn't showing, and I've followed every step. I'm at the point of 3:46 with everything you've done pretty much copied. The problem I'm having is that with Luminence selected, my color/texture, bump, and reflections aren't working (even though they're on), and it's only showing the luminence noise exactly like @ 1:38 Please help, I've been self-taught all this time but lately I've needed help with puddle reflections and this is a bit frustrating
Once you've got the luminance texture set to Multiply turning down the Luminance brightness to 0% should make it go invisible. Don't really know what else could be up.
I really don't know either... Maybe it's the software glitching up? I've had issues where the software won't render properly and I've had to restart or reinstall it. I've tried it again and I'm still having the issue :/
hey daniel, i have followed the tut and the outcome was great! But a little problem is that although i turned off the luminance after the xpresso part, from some angle the object still shows the noise of the luminance while from other angles don't. Do you have any clue what cause that:)
Sounds almost like intersecting geometry. So if there's two planes in the same position and one has the noise texture on it might show up from a few angles. I'm probably wrong, but that might be it. :)
argh my computer must be fucked. sometimes the textures convert to orange for no particular reason? whilst im playing with espresso. i close and reopen and its back to normal, fucking c4d
Slight difficulty here, when you say "I turn down the brightness of the luminance a s turn everything back on and now it looks as it did before" in my case I can still see the noise and the colorizer, any idea on this? Thanks a ton
when I open xpresso on my plane with the asphalt texture, and i drag the texture in and right click on it. However, i don't see the luminance section. in fact i see options that dont even apear for you. PLEEEAAASE HELPP!!
That's the Xpresso screwing you over... Did you farm-render it? What you can do is before render is copy the Puddle Matte into all the channels it should be. and disabling the XPresso completely.
Hey there is a plugin for c4d its free, its called cm nodes , its really good , its a node based material system , its very good , you can give it a try.
why when i animate it 1 frame is good, the second yellow, the 3rd good etc ?????
That's the XPresso screwing you up. It's fun to play with and useful when picking where to have puddles, but when time comes to render I would recommend just disabling the XPresso and copying the noise texture into all the linked channels.
what do you mean when you say "link the noise texture into all the linked channels" because im having a similar problem
kinda having a same problem :/
@@DanielDanielsson what do you mean "copying the noise texture into all linked channel"? Because I had same problem too
@@DanielDanielsson would you care to elaborate?
This channel is criminally underrated...
you're as genius as Andrew Kramer and your voice is an eargasm!
Strong!
Daniel is the Andrew Kramer of C4d!
Hahaha, I'll take it!
Aye couldn't agree more
Your tutorials are not just informative, they're quite upbeat and very entertaining to me. Keep up the phenomenal work. Cheers
What did I just watch? Mind Blown! Great work!
This was what I wanted after a long time , some nice wet puddles.Thank you.
Brilliant...we need to get you back for some more C4D magic next academic year.
Would love to. :)
Great video ! It's first time I see tutorial done in this kind. Saving lives !

And now there's even more to learn!
thank you sir. thats cool. Im waiting for your tutorials. god bless you.
oh my god awesome tutorial, actually kinda wanna see more of Xpresso on this channel now :p keep up the good work
XPresso is a very nifty bugger…
Exactly what i needed right now. Thank you so much! :)
Anyone else here thinks that Daniel IS the fucking boss??
for shure!!!
You are the funniest tutorial youtuber ever omg I love you xD
Brilliant tutorial! Thanks a lot man
This is amazing. New biggest fan
Holy shit dude, but I'm your fan! How did you end up here?
I love this tutorial. Thanks a lot for doing this saved me a bunch of time figuring out how to do puddles ;] Love the humour and aristocratic music in the background ;D
I feel it adds a lil' bit of class to the tuts. ;)
Loved this tutorail. Could you show the camera movement you did and how to export it with cinema 4d (no render pluggins). thank you !!

Can you give us a download from the file you used.
I lost it when the kittens popped up

That's the same technique I used in my Glass Shatter tutorial:
ua-cam.com/video/l6sY4KILjAs/v-deo.html
can you possibly recreate the scene you had at the beginning? i think it would be so informative

Hi. Help me please! I can not get rid of the Bump completely from the water. Blend channel simply changes the "water height".(Sorry for Google translate)
May I just ask, how did you get so good at Cinema4D?
Learning by doing (plus a large deal of googling)
Daniel Danielsson Well, thank you for gathering and putting all this information in your awesome tutorials!

Try this: Go to the material window: Luminance - Mix Mode - Multiply
it's made the white parts darker, but it hasn't changed anything with the rendering :/
Once you've got the luminance texture set to Multiply turning down the Luminance brightness to 0% should make it go invisible. Don't really know what else could be up.

Tried it again after reinstalling and it finally worked. Didn't know why I had an issue, but it was my software. Thanks for the help
Excuse me man where did you get the textures of road ground? thank
And your tutorials are really awesomes man! thank you for everything!
I layered a couple from my Assets-folder, where I store textures and shit I find over time. So I actually have no idea. :/
Ok, does'nt matter :)
he when i render it at 2:32 it doesnt look the same as at the start it just shows these white puddels what should i do
So, what was that you were saying about Octane? Hahaha..... Any chance?

@@678bennoschulze Hey sorry man! I don't even use Cinema 4D anymore, I've moved to blender. Glad you could find a solution though :3
HELP! I'm trying to render a scene using this technique but every other frame turns out with that yellow error! Any tips to fix this?
Unlink all the bullshit I did with XPresso as a shading network, and then it should work. Sorry.
#shadernetworkssavelives - Amen
and how to make the asphalt itself?
I added this to an animation I had going and on random frames it changes the color of the floor entirely, any idea why?
That's the Xpresso screwing you over... Did you farm-render it?

But it's all archived on a dusty old disk somewhere...
alright thanks
what a sensual voice!!! what efficient tutorial. thank you
And the blue explosion :c
it wont let me drag the mask channel into the fusion input, am i doing something wrong?
C4D can be quite particular about where you drop it, but I don't think it's you doing something wrong. C4D is probably just cheeky.
Daniel Danielsson ahh maxonnn
But how to do that with arnold render
where did you get the background? thanks
The HDRi is from this site: www.cgtrader.com/free-3d-models/exterior/cityscape/groenplaats-night
What mic setup do you have?
I have a rather cheap but good Behringer mic dangling in its cable from a tripod in the corner of a room. So a proper pro setup!
Daniel Danielsson it sounds awesome
so could this be possible in the node shader?
I think it would be an absolute joy in the node shader.
@@DanielDanielsson i have no idea tbh i know you can add inputs and outputs to a shader but how can you access them globally?
@@DanielDanielsson i found with arnold you can import shaders into a shader network but cant layer reflection the same as c4d materials :(
scene file???
it's like watching mozart. kudos. more!
