Here's a pro tip: Plastic don't rust
Going outside for texturing? nah man im done.
It was honestly torture
@@Smeaf lol
Grass is lava 😮
Touching grass and getting laser beamed by the giant round laser on the sky is torturous.
@@kalesio64_The sun is a deadly lazer._
Learning that I could combine painted textures with image and procedural textures (which I had been using near-exclusively for months) was by far one of the most exciting things I’ve ever been told I could do. Really excited to utilize these in combination with each other for my next project!
Hell yeah brother!
The best film about texturing I have watched so far. Thank You! It helped a lot
Man I've been loving your channel a lot, I've always wanted to learn Blenders and your videos finally made me do it, you make everything so easy to understand and fun to do. Keep up the great work and editing. Much love from Mexico
man I wish I knew the basic variety of geometry node possibilities, like how you taught here about how one of the ways to procedurally mask materials is by targeting the denser areas of vertices with that bevel dot matrix stuff. the texture painting workflow was a relief to learn about though. great stuff as usual smeaf!
It’s honestly so complex, it takes a long time to get comfy with it!
Yeah this is one of the first times I've been genuinely excited about using G nodes
Absolutely loving the editing. Congrats on 100k man, remember finding you when your first lighting vid hit my recommended and you've been killing it since then
Thanks!
Yeah feels like forever ago
Your videos are so helpful!! I'm a complete beginner and the way you teach makes everything much more easier to understand!! Thanksss for the effort!!
That’s amazing to hear, glad your liking them!
Brilliant tutorial, so much info clearly explained & fun too !! Thank You!!
i keep coming back to this video, it helps me a lot! thanks smeaf
SMEAF, I NEEDED THIS RIGHT NOW. YOU ARE A MIND READER.
Thank you so much ! I think the best option is taking picture irl, creating pbr seamless with the software, then adding layers of mask. And if you have a particular need you can texture paint on top of that
Buddy this really helped me, thank you so so much. I love your tutorials
3:27💀 this is smart, you got my attention the whole video with all the memes coming up every now and then + it's super useful thanks🙏😊
just started diving into this world and was slightly overwhelmed by all the videos and all the information at once, you explained very well and without a million words! Great video thanks
Oh man, although yes it's complex I really do appreciate the way you try and dumb it down/explain it!
Thank you this was really great, very well described
Such a good segue into the ad 👍👏 thanks for a very informative video!
Love how you explain those all methos easy to understand and Funny videos. Thanks man fo the video. It's completely helpful
Nice tutorial😊
Thanks!
I started to feel inspired when i heard glorious morning while i watching this tutorial. It's pure cinema
please show the entire shader window. at some places its really hard to understand where some connections are being made since each and every step is not being explained. i am saying this as an absolute beginner. thank you for the tutorial though really appreciate it!
Thanks for the most entertaining tutorials ever!
Yo, thank you for watching!
I freaking love the editing dude!
This is so good even an old newb like me could follow. Thank you very much! BTW, love the alien computer keycaps. If that is one of yours, a tutorial would be fantastic.
Wow, i'm glad to hear that!
No it's not mine, that's from a user on Behance by the name of Pasha Ho
Although I will be making a tut about it
This is the video I have been looking for all my life.
love the tut smeaf! huge props for including the age of war theme song…legit brought me back to my childhood!
Bro, it's such a banger, and sooooo nostalgic
thank you for the cherry on top.. i love all the insert little video it makes your video more exciting to watch..
nice production value, I love the humor in this vid
Thanks! so glad people are enjoying the more tutorialised vids
The add segway was really good
Incredible tutorial, keep pushing these high quality videos and color everyone surprise
Thank you man 🙏
Always amaze me :), great memes (most of the time 💀), music, sound effects, and editing. Quality videos, i almost feel bad having them for free
This editing and the use of memes is so beautiful. This video was so more enertaining then some random meme videos. Great job
that runescape sound at 7:48 was epic
bro this editing is something else OMEGALUL
You really got me on the mask bit. Subbed!
it would help to see the final material node for a couple of seconds at the end so we can have a good look at your material, thanks!
Thankyou for these smeaf 🙏
It’s my pleasure 😌
@@Smeaf seriously man i love your videos, whenever i encounter a problem in my projects i look for your tutorials specifically, youre very good at explaining and your calm voice helps me not get overwhelmed with what we're doing. I just finished ur liquicool class aswell in skillshare ! ! !
Another bangeroonie! 🔥
Bussin Banger
Really good video man👍🏼
Thanks!
Awesome !!!
oh my gosh your style of editing is perfect for my brain lmao, the "please go back" got me 😂
what is the shortcut for mixing two different textures in here 3:06 ?
Shift+Ctrl+RMB
Hey, I love your content, it really helps me a lot to study blender and I have a question. When you were making a keyboard commercial do you have all ready-made whole keyboard model by company or do you had to make it all by your self?
In one of hisother videos he mentions that when you're working with a client it's very dependent. So in some cases a company or individual might have a set of materials ready for you- or perhaps another comp/individual may expect you to be making them yourself.
The key to finding out and also deciding if it is worth your efforts (or even something you can reasonably accomplish) is by asking them questions about what they are looking for and what they have. It also might help to offer them honest options based on what work you can do and what quality it could have in a given timeframe. Other times maybe they (or even YOU) have deadlines to meet. Questions
(Fwiw I'm interested in knowing about that particular keyboard too though. Hah)
genius tutorial😝 love u bro❤
Was totally going to skip this video but dam I learned a lot, and the comedy was top notch lol earned a subscriber
I wonder how much time and effort you put in your videos, they look so professional, it's unbeliavable.
i have to say that texture blending via painting a mask is amazing, in november i made an an enemy model for my game and i used a lava texture with a rock texture and for the first time i discovered (myself BTW) that i can simply blend between em with a painted texture (because i already knew that black and white images can be used as values from 1 - 0 and that's what the mix shader uses to blend), and wow its amazing
and a few days ago i discovered how to use noise maps in Blender and i legit made a texture for a scorpion i've been working on without downloading a texture (and then i also baked it)... and its AMAZING for indie devs like me
procedural textures is amazing... EPIC VIDEO
so good, moreover the mask part is very clear !! Thanks
Awesome, glad it came across that way!
Amazing
The moment Morty comes in. You captured the feeling so well.
great video!
Thank you! 🙏
I only saw such as entertaining tutorial back in the days when Andrew Kramer made tutorials! haha
Keep up the outstanding work!
No way you're comparing me to such a legend 😶🌫
1:00 "Check out this Conk"-- *sudden cut to ad*
i just found that very unintentionally hilarious
This is an awesome intro to geo nodes for me!
Aye nice
@@Smeaf I’m also a pretty new sub to you as I am wanting to learn a lot on lighting and animating after the layout of blender and some modeling, then simulations/vfx with geo nodes, and addons like a terrain addon and more! If you know a good bit on that to talk about that would be great! I am learning with cg cookie as well and they are awesome :)
This is my first full year with blender and yea as you say it can be tough to stick with it but I’m glad I have my year plus planned with what I want to learn and a awesome community to talk to! Switching form gaming to animating - long story
How do you do that little dreamy glow?
man i didn't understand shit and still watched till the end 😂
But how does plastic catch rust? That is the question.
This video is amazing hahaha
Is there any chance you can make an educational video about map range node ?
Why didn't you use an ambient occlusion or pointyness node instead of the geometry and bevel ones? It seems like a simpler way to it, is there something i am missing?
Probably so he could segue into his sponsor.
ao doesn't get all of the edges, only inner corners where ao would occur
Hey that my render at the start with the swirly blue volumetric ball. That's a nice surprise to see.
Loved the video! Very informative and enternaining.
Although the music choice doesn't feel right sometimes and the overused reverb effects to cut the music kinda gets annoying especially towards the end
No joke, I saw this channel through a youtube shorts advert about a “phone storage cleaning”
Lol you are a legend❤❤
8:51 My Banjo and Kazooie senses are tingling
Smeaf texturing tutourials is funny tho
How do you put that mix node?
Great stuff :D but Rust on plastic ?
haha GREAT!
06:50 age of war soundtrack! you thought we wouldn't notice... but we did.
My brother just started playing cult of the lamb and now I know where his music comes from😂
the sound the meme
the perfection❤
oheellnae you even predicted me at 4:20
I knew I wasn't the only one
6:21 lets be honest Cult Of The Lamb has some of the best music
Is there a way to bake the diffuse information of a multi-layered procedural texture as 1 image?
I believe so, probs too complex for a comment though
I learn video editing from finzar and blender from smeaf & default cube because both are same style of edit (enjoyable)
That reaction @ 4:18 was genius 🤣
Glad it came off that way!
BRILLIANT TUTORIAL, NEVER KNEW HOW TO WORK WITH BRUSH WHILE TEXTURINGI N BLENDER I THOUGHT PEOPLE TEXTURE WITH BRUSH ONLY BECAUSE THEY HAVE A 3D SCULPTING SET.
You can get away with just your mouse, although having a tablet is way easier
6:55 damn , taking me to that tower defence browser game
Such a classic
I might be a bit stupid, but how did you join the two texture nodes with the green line?
cool
Great video! Do you know how I can export these procedural materials in game engines like Unity or Unreal? As far as I know, nodes cannot be exported and this is why game developers use other programs for texturing like Substance Painter.
You’d have to bake the procedural texture into image maps for each input like color, roughness, etc. and then import those into ur engine, plenty of good tutorials if u look up texture baking in blender
The voice cracks throughout the video had me dying
8 mo. late, but just gotta have a pedantic moment for myself w/out going into detail cuz no one will read: I liked the image on the left at the beginning better. Every picture tells a story and the one on the right didn't make sense in so many ways it triggered an unpalatable distaste of its uncanniness.
But I love your work, man. Much appreciated. 👈😜👍
nice video but i have a problem, when i switch to render view with my gpu with a bevel node active ( even with just a bevel node on the default cube) , its says "loading render kernels" and crash eventualy..
But where are you pasting the MixRGB????
How did you add the mario images? i cant figure out how to add more than 2 materials
Bro this guy has 100k subs and responds to comments?!?
+1 sub ❤
Legend
Don't think we didn't see the topology on that N64 cart. Naughty, naughty - next video should be about fixing that!
😳 Thank goodness it's not actually my model
6:24 music from cult of the lamb is so good i cant concentrate wat u ar saying lol
It's too damn good!
really nice shirt bro
It's beautiful
Yo nice work smeaf but can you play more games? Also WHEN WILL YOU LIVE STREAM ❤ lol
I'm probably going to do that on another channel, i'll let you know once I get around to it
6:21 Cult of the lamb music? :OOO
Good tutorial, but honestly the previous version looked better and more realistic. Why would the cartridge be rusty and burnt? Good attention to detail is great for realism, but adding unnecessary detail for the sake of it, has the opposite effect and makes models looks less realistic.
Especially since it´s plastic. Idk but, I´ve never heard of rusty plastic lol.
imperfections make perfection
@@PatoChu only if those imperfections make sense though.
How much time does it get to you to edit your vidoes
This vid took fr about 3 days to edit
However, the prep before hand was immaculate and because of circumstances, I was working on the edit for 24 hours straight at one point.
4:32 is there any addon that can do this?
Thanks, that was great but I didn't understand anything
Most palatable blender youtuber EVER! Keep up the amazing work and memes man!
What is the software at 1:40 please?
2:17 what is the source of the keys animation?
It's be the artist 'Pashar Ho' you can find them on Behance
