Totally understand why Steve's there with this install. Hundreds of thousands of eyes on this motor and the expectation of it performing flawlessly the pressure on these guys must be immense!! Such a great achievement by all involved and so inspirational!!!
Folks think this is a little overkill having Steve down, but when your engine/transmission cost as much as a house, you take as few chances as possible.

For those not following. Steve Morris has his own channel and posted being there to help Cleetus with the startup, really awesome dude!
My guess is Cleetus paid Steve to travel there and help w/ final install and tuning. Cleetus likely paid more for this motor than anything he’s done except the Freedom Factory, so paying Steve the bucks to oversee this makes sense. Being safe with Mullet’s bad self!

Cleetus has built an unbelievable squad and team, but allowing Sam to just be present, assist where he can, do his thing, living his best life at that age, is by far without a shadow of a doubt the single greatest thing a live channel has done in my time on UA-cam. It's really just cool watching this channel thrive because of the great bunch of guys that are on it. Well done Cleetus, well done.

Yep. I mean there's a reason boostedboiz took the mr2 to fueltech for a hub dyno. To get true numbers. That thing is going slip like crazy on a wheel dyno especially at the numbers they are projecting. I don't think they could possibly even wrench it down tight enough for once full boost ramps in.

I was never really Interested in any racing or drag racing really untill I came across Cleetus' channel like 3 yrs ago and even I'm excited for this new big block in mullet to see how it does.
Wow Steve looked exhausted right before that startup very cool he wanted to come out and be a part of that and make sure everything went smooth as possible hopefully this is the beginning of a long fun relationship for mullet's new engine builder and you guys is pretty cool you became friends before you even bought an engine
The reason He looked Exhausted was because He spent the whole Day putting on the new shocks, bolting in the torque convertor and building parts to complete the Engine install. The way it sounded was He was supposed to fly down to Cleets shop and fire the Engine up and Dyno tune it. Not spend the whole day finishing putting Mullet back together.
@@MJTAUTOMOTIVE not exactly he wanted to come and help with certain things he said like that spacer in converter so it was right on and he knew full well it wasn't done all the way and because of the boost his channel has seen since working with Garrett and the engines that he's no doubt going to sell because of the publicity and ass whoopings mullet is gunna be putting on people he made the smart definitely calculated business decision to go there and film his own videos as well that took hours on its own and with how hot that shop gets in summer it doesn't take long to get wore out just from the heat let alone flying and traveling

I can't wait either. But I think low 6's are likely going to be next year. They have 6 months to tune a brand new car basically. 6.6-6.7 might be possible this year, but it'll be next year before we see it make low 6's likely. Tons involved besides just the motor and trans to make it happen. But we will see

Watched this on Steve's channel first and came here to watch your perspective. The one thing that I thought was crazy is how well the cleetus crew works together. These guys are just ON IT, taking care of oil pressure, adjustments, cleaning, checking for leaks. I can tell this group just knows how to handle their business. That was on the street rails wasn't it? pressure will be quite a bit less than on the race rail. The welds may have been ugly, but it aint gotta be pretty to hold

Also- Tye inspected the welds, at least visually. If they're not leaking on the first light up, they're usually (not always) good to go for the long haul. Big power engines self destruct- it's their nature.

That big block dropped the front down nicely. A Brodix based big block was the obvious choice, that LS was running at it's ragged limits.

That earls crimper is fantastic. I have the aeroquip one for 1/4" to 1-1/4" hydraulic hose. It can do fuel hose too, have all the dies and stop plates. Saves tons of time on projects.
