Stay humble just like you are teach people that want to learn. I love this video because it shows It ain’t about the money. I hear so many making excuses, when I get the money I’m gonna do this or I’m gonna do that. You took what you had, and its running that’s a lot further than most get. Keep up the good work it doesn’t have to be perfect to be enjoyed...

I respect everyone that work on on there cars. i remember 05-08 high school i was the poor transfer kid from mexico pops passed down a 78 pontiac Phoenix coupe..i busted my ass working for my dads friend that had a roofing company..summers were rough out on the roof..i saved my money and i was so excited ordering my first aftermarket parts from jegs..got some good some heads and a cam and my first holly 750 cfm double pumper on a edelbrock performer manifold..i painted my car in autobody class, i remember still driving it daily to school without bumpers and hood and a license plate visible 😂the struggle was real...everyone was so passionate about cars back then especially if they put the work in themselves..i was proud of my 350 i pulled it from my uncles wrecking yard, out of a buick la sabre and built it to run with all the rich kids modern camaro z28,mustang gt,trans ams and c5 corvettes..i could run with the best of them..those were the good o day the car scene was so huge..there were car clubs on every corner lot on our main 4 lane strip..racing was non stop or just cruising cuz gas prices were so low everyone could enjoy bieng out..

We have boosted a bone stock 2 bolt main sbc many times . As long as you keep the boost down it will last . Done 8lbs on a roots blower and 10 lbs on turbos and they lived for years .

    • @harmankardon478

@@issanova8573 its about boost level as more boost more temps... stock bottom end youll need to keep the boost about below 7.5 psi for it to last imo. 5 psi would be safe assuming tune is gtg

Awesome man. Cars like these are the best when you see them on the street. After doing engine swaps in my'68 Grand Prix and '71 LeMans i initially drove with the hood off for the test drives, and people always dug it. Craning their necks to look in the engine compartment. A big turbo sticking up makes that even better. Some advice: get rid of your engine driven fan and buy a mid90's Taurus 3.8 electric fan. They are two speed and have a three wire oblong connector. I just got another one yesterday for $23 from the U-pull-it. They take about five minutes to remove, very easy. And they flow as much as $300 aftermarket fans, and have curved blades so they are quiet. I've put them on 400-500hp engines with cooling problems, and they never overheat afterward. Plus the fan frees up power and ups fuel economy. I'm getting ready to install my new one on my '82 shortbed K10 to replace the junk flex fan. If you install one it'll make some room for an intercooler too

Great video.

it sounds like you either have bad air fuel ratio (little fuel for that much air), or you're getting really hot boost, try tuning the carburetor little bit more, and put an intercooler in if you can. it has nice turbo, but you should be getting a lot more power with it than what it shows in the pulls. I'm looking forward to see more videos !

Run two sets of Mr. Gasket exhaust header gaskets on each side. And retighten after you warm it up. And a few heat cycle's. Retighten. Before you drive it.. recheck exhaust bolts.. Exhaust leaks is a boost Loss you're losing more than half your potential boost through exhaust leaks

I actually recently did a very similar budget build turbo on my "Mad Max" nova. I had a nice built motor in the car and i found a good deal on a turbo setup, however after getting it mounted and running, i ran into a few little roadblocks with the setup that has left me kinda lost on the next step of where to go with it. Prior to attempting the turbo setup, it ran better then ever... after dumping all my extra cash into it and coming just short of being able to drive it has been very disheartening. However, seeing this has gotten me excited about it again. Thanks for posting
