Love or hate this saga, we can all agree on one thing: Tobin Bell did an astonishing acting performance playing the Jigsaw killer. Felt like he was a real killer and they made a movie saga about him.
absolutely. bell's performance absolutely sells kramer as a psychologically flawed, but entirely plausible person. call me morbid, but it's the human monsters i find myself enjoying to watch the most.
Well, Tobin isn't exactly new to this whole acting gig. He started in '79, and he started getting credited rolls in '88 it looks like. Sadly he just hadn't really hit it "big" until his 60's.
Its funny how arbitrarily he chooses his victims, like in the first tests one of the victims is a woman who killed her own baby and blamed her husband and later he's killing people who didn't give him good enough customer service. Jigsaw is the ultimate Karen
I'm assuming you're referring to the insurance guy. Bad customer service is when a server brings you the wrong food. This guy deliberately denied Jigsaw's insurance claim for his own selfish reasons (remember: this wasn't by accident, they actually created their very own loophole.) I don't know about your moral values, but to me that's just downright evil

One thing that I love about the saw franchise is that despite the flaws in his logic among other things, he never really loses. He's always plans ahead even in death. Even if something does go astray, he has a backup plan for it.
He reminds me a bit of Anthony Hopkin's Hannibal Lecter. He's definitely a villain and a killer.....but there's a certain honorable quality to him. He believes in manners and rules.
The one issue i had was he was too old for the character's age, if they made him in his 60's it would be better, and if Jill and him had an actual kid who was grown up and killed as an adult by Cecil, it would make more sense to me, but that''s just my thought
In the United States, miscarriage is before the 20th week, stillborn is after the 20th. In the UK its the 24th week. I think Australia uses 20th week and/or weight of the child. Stillbirth is 400 grams or more. Very weird to look into, and not something you would've assumed had so much variation
@@CoRLex-jh5vx I think it goes on medical viability depending on the laws of that particular area. I'm pretty sure that if it is at a medically viable age when it dies, it is technically a stillbirth. Before that, miscarriage.
@@CoRLex-jh5vx unrelated to the vid, but that difference is one of the reasons the US infant mortality rate is viewed as worse in the US compared to other wealthy nations.
@@user-ld2qx5yw3h yea, I did guess that was where the distinction came from. It's still strange that there's a four week variation depending on the country, which is what I was commenting on. I'm guessing its just based on premature survival rates per country?
I am glad you talk about it how John's "reasons to rehabilitate" are not that good. When I was an edgy teen I was like "John is an antihero. Ye he kills but he helps people". Like no. That's what he keeps telling himself and others. If there's no evil people left to "help", he'd pick a guy who just littered or something. Because he likes doing what he does.
The worst mistake they made in the saw series was: SAYING JOHN KRAMER WAS 52 AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH. Clearly he was in his 60's when he died, which made all the subsequent flashbacks harder to believe especially after long gaps like in Jigsaw and Saw X.
I love how you make it clear all the way that John was a psycho that was no better than his victims. Right from the start, I started making the connections with Kira, as they both started with a self indulgent "good intention" and soon took a downward spiral into god- complex. Both started viewing their work as necessary and ended up enjoying making people fear and suffer, starting to punish petty criminals and even people who were just after them. Amazing video!
@@edwardmcintosh7952 I think Kira would get to Jigsaw first. John used to choose people too close to him for the tests, people who he felt that did him dirty, personally. I think Kira would track him down easily, not to mention Jigsaw would have to actually get to Kira physically, while Kira could get him from distance. I don't think Jigsaw would even find out who Kira is before having a sudden heart attack.
In case anyone was wondering, the final piece Jigsaw was missing was the ability to let go of the past, in particular, his son's death. Had he let go of Gideon, he would have become a better person, but that one missing piece ironically created the other eight.
I also find it ironic that he tested Jeff to make him get over losing his son because of the drunk driver when John himself couldn't get over losing his own son and killed Cecil for it
@@dashigriffins5310 No, he didn't kill Cecil for it. He was letting him go once that chair broke free, Cecil made the stupid decision of running straight for him but ended up falling in his backup plan
Personally, I think the final piece was Hypocrisy. Jigsaw was building this jigsaw puzzle for himself and had almost finished it, representing how he hoped his actions would amount to something. But with the puzzle almost finished, I think he realized both what the final piece was and what the final picture would be, which was him as he truly was. So he refused to put in the final piece, leaving him stranded in a game he was too cowardly to win.
I love when Saw goes back to previous movies and shows you something that was there all along like when it showed Hoffman and John kidnapping the man from the razor wire maze trap.
Jigsaw is one of the most terrifying non-superhuman villains I've seen in a franchise, his intelligence and psychopathic behavior are a deadly combination. I enjoy the writing of Jigsaw but I know it would traumatize me if I watch this movies because of the gore and flesh, blood, etc.
I actually feel so bad for that little girl. Even if she wasn’t kidnapped and trapped, she lost her brother, and now her mum and dad because of John. So much trauma for such a young person. Thankfully she’s a fictional character 😅 but still.
If someone else was Jigsaw, John would wake up in a trap for taking away the last of that girl's immediate family. That's how broken his mind is, he can't see that he's just as bad if not worse than some of the criminals he tests, and some of his subjects aren't even criminals, just people with personal flaws.
I dunno, the loss of her brother was sad but shattered her family and left her with no one. Her mother was out all the time to get away and cheat on her husband to not remember, and her father was locked in his room neglecting and yelling at her. While the kidnapping sucked I think she is better off, least this way she would be with a foster family or immediate family who cares about her feelings and well being.
I kinda get his logic. By surviving the a trauma it might shed different light on your other problems, like addiction or depression(i know depression could be chemical but still a trauma might cure it cause a trauma is also a strong chemical shift in the brain)
I suffer from addiction and he’s completely right. Addiction stems from trauma and if you go through almost dying it makes ur other trauma (ex abuse; rape) the trauma that makes you use drugs, you will realize you can be stronger than your trauma and live. Being chemically addicted is easy to get over, you will continue to do drugs until you heal your trauma. Hey I might just do more drugs because of all the trauma he gave me in the traps BAHAHA
AND it is effective! I used to struggle with depression and not wanting to live, but then someone hurt me (will not go into details because it is graphic and personal) and I barley made it out alive. At the moment I thought I was going to die, I wanted nothing more than to live and was fighting for my life. I have PTSD now, and while it is difficult to cope with, it changed my view on life and death. I have always been a Saw fan always thought if I ended up in a trap it would change my way of thinking. I do not want to like those who said "he was brutal but his heart was in the right place" because what he and other does are messed up and cannot be excused (Even though this is just movies), BUT I will admit that I guess I had the reaction John was looking for with his victims; The will to live, and change. This is suck a freaking weird message, but I thought it could be interesting for others to see in a different perspective of someone who went through something traumatic that almost took my life, but ended up changing me, both in good and bad ways.
i'd always interpreted the "we've met" line to mean "since you've apparently been in one of my traps, we've already met," and in that way indirectly tells him that he's jigsaw
@Buzz Killington wow..umm yes especially back in the day..had citizenship class also that u MUST pass to graduate this generation is just plain stupid..raise by stupid parents
55:54 Amanda actually made unwinnable traps because she realised John's tests had made her worse rather than reforming her. The trauma caused her to self harm, her guilt for the suffering of their victims not only led her to suffocate Adam so he wouldn't die slowly in the bathroom but she saw her traps as mercy killings and that the people in them were better off dead than fucked up for life like her.
I wouldn't call having metal hooked into all your ribs before forcefully ripping them out after being forced to grab a key in a vat of acid in a pointless act in the hopes you might be able to free yourself a "mercy killing" I think it was because she failed to change, which is why she is tested by Jigsaw a second time, so she is taking her anger and guilt out on others because if they survive and change their ways, she wouldn't be John's perfect test subject.
I agree. There was one horrific trap where the victim only had 60 seconds. I believe it was the key in the acid trap. Not sure though but the player was female.
Among all of John's test subjects, I always feel the most sorry for Jeff. First losing his son, then his wife in front of his eyes, and lastly knowing he's losing his daughter too :( I kinda hope he eventually escaped from that room using that secret passage hoffman went :(
@@BigBubbaTakeYoAzz The problem with Jeff is that he was filled with grief and vengeance. That’s what got him killed. He never learned from his experience being tested by Jigsaw. He was supposed to learn forgiveness from those involved in the loss of his son and forgive Jigsaw for putting him and his wife through the games. But he never did. Thus cost him his wife’s life, never seeing his daughter again and his own life.
I wonder if his brain tumor, severe edema, and intracranial pressure could have triggered his psychopathy as well as his psychological/emotional trauma. It was found very late in the game and his brain was living with prolonged oxygen deprivation which is why he needed the surgery on his skull to release the intracranial pressure. I wonder if things would have been different for him if it had been caught early on.
Thank you for putting Jigsaw's life in chronological order and even filling out some gaps for me. I'm a huge Saw fan and even chalked up some "inconsistencies" as simply production errors and moved on. You even explained why Logan was seemingly absent for most of the series. It's so obvious I don't know how I missed it.
Originally there was going to be a scene in Saw III when Jigsaw broke down and started crying realising his tests hadn't helped anyone and that he'd be remembered as nothing but what he didn't think he was, a murderer.
VR Game idea: you’re a victim of Jigsaw and have a certain amount of time to free yourself from one of his traps. Think about how terrifying that would be.
I gotta say I’m so impressed by all the ways CZ identifies Jigsaw’s “God Complex” and shows him to be acting irrationally and selfishly (and psychotically), not actually consistent with the moral way he believes he is. Really astute
Yeah, you see where the gaps are. Like when he told Eric Matthews that he never killed anybody, they make their own choices. Eric said "If you put a gun in somebody's hand and force them to kill themselves then it's still murder." He didn't address that point and deflected the topic back to Eric.
The continuity of this franchise is amazing! Especially for a series that not only has about 100 entries, but one that most know as nothing but "torture porn". It's gotta be up there as one of the most cohesive and carefully done stories in all of cinema!
I love that there is real intellect and substance to these movies that dismissive critics just couldn’t give any credit to because of how distractingly gory and trashy they were. When you look past that, there is storytelling merit!
@Heliosphan15 It was actually a stroke of genius on behalf of Wan & Whannell, if you think about it. Use the bloody gimmick to reel everyone in, and then the ones who weren't immediately turned off by it can stick around for the story.
I'd argue he was missing the most important piece of all. If I were a psychopath I wouldn't put myself in a room knowing there's a possibility I could die from something out of my control. He lacked the will to live, and instead of spending his final months reflecting and handing himself in, he spent that time testing others and trying to prove his method. Just seemed like a really messy character compared to what he's portrayed as.
I think its interesting that John Kramer was the last main character covered in saw. Like you see all the other characters covered and their history with John without talking about him to much. Now he's got his own part and its over a hour long
With that bit at the end, I think the key thing that John was missing that made him on the same level as his victims was an appreciation for his own life. He gets diagnosed with cancer and tries to kill himself, yet instead of appreciating the time he has left and perhaps spending it with his wife or maybe even trying for another kid, he doubles down on his beliefs that he can make others appreciate their lives as much as he thinks he does by putting them through the same torment he experienced. Instead of dying surrounded by friends and family he knew well, he was killed by a man who experienced the same torment as him in an abandoned and cold reminder of his past. Instead of working to create a lasting impact on society through his work and philanthropy, he died and left behind a legacy of blood and pain. John, for all his talk of others needing to appreciate their lives, didn’t have the same appreciation for his own. There’s a difference between appreciating your life and wanting to stay alive, and John couldn’t see the difference.
John could’ve done what Art said, and channeled it into his work with the housing project. Create safe homes and nurseries in honor of the son he lost. Worked towards preventing and reducing addiction, less Cecils in the world. But he was blinded. Even beyond the housing, he was excellent at watching people and observing their crimes (which he ironically punishes at least two people for doing). He had photo evidence of that motel owner being a rapist and more of a woman being a prostitute. He could’ve taken those to the police.
John Kramer's victims went from people who didn't appreciate their lives to just people who were complete douchebags. Unless, in Jigsaw's mind, you only appreciate life if you're a completely good, honest person.
his stated rules and his actual rules were never in sync. He mostly started with people from the clinic, because he knew them, felt wronged by them, and felt that his wife 'failed' in reforming them. As he continued on, he needed to look for more subjects, and started to include other people he encountered that irritated him. His original stated goal of reforming people that didn't seem to have the will to live quickly turned to righteous judgement of people and society. His games with multiple people definitely involved more than just "do what you can to survive" and instead was about seeing if people could work together, forgive, etc. He definitely evolved over time, both in order to escalate, and to justify the escalation to himself, as well as justifying broadening his scope to include police that were after him, etc.
Obviously I don't condone his actions, but I can't help but agree with his premise that suffering leads to enlightenment. I had a stroke at a young age which was caused by a medical mistake. I went through a period of depression and trauma but eventually came out of it and learned to appreciate life. Now I study psychology and philosophy, which I suppose in turn led me to videos like this.
I just noticed that the apprentices who interact with each other are the ones who failed. Hoffman and Amanda were both in each other’s way and both wanted to get rid of the other more than focusing on John’s will and legacy. Same goes for Jill, once she started getting involved with Hoffman and the others she was dragged to death like the others. It’s only Gordon and Logan who hadn’t interacted with other apprentices and had simply focused on what John taught them that survived. It seems like the Jigsaw mantle is a cursed one where you have to stay pure and true to yourself to survive
You are one of the most observant, analytic, and detail oriented channels I know. I strive to be this way with my work too. I just want to take a moment and thank you for all your hard work. You're my favorite horror channel.
Possible explanation for why John doesn’t shock Adam after the gunshot: John doesnt care if Adam dies or not, he’s testing the willingness of Gordon to kill Adam to save his family. Because Gordon demonstrated he WILL kill Adam to win his game, whether or not Adam survives the gun shot is unimportant
What was the win condition for Adam? Sorry for asking that but IT was a while since i saw the movie , maybe in eyes of John he won or Bcs Gordon won cuz he " killed "Adam And the electro shock was not anymore an option
Wow, this is so well thought through. I really admire how you fit all the pieces together from the Saw franchise to come to a canonical overview. Lots of things fall in place. I'm very curious though how this will age once the next Swa movie comes out.
Hi there, I'm in school to become a speech-language pathologist. One of the most common diagnosis's we treat is aphasia, an acquired language disorder. At 21:50 we can see that John developed aphasia from the result of a tumor. However, aphasia is a disorder that affects the parts of your brain affecting LANGUAGE. In this population you would expect to see problems with at least word finding, fluency of speech, repetition (of words spoken to the individual), and auditory comprehension. John Kramer did not exhibit problems with ANY of these, even tho some people can hide aphasia very well, and aphasia is not a monolith - there are various types with different presenting symptoms. Regardless, I think a PROGRESSIVE aphasia would get worse over time and Kramer doesn't seem to develop more severe problems with language throughout the series. Ik this is a dumb nitpick but idk why they would choose that diagnosis for him
My headcanon on why John didn't shock Adam to check if he's dead is because he decided that Adam already failed his test by trying to fool him. That's also why he left Adam to die even if he had no chance of escaping because the key got sucked throught the drain.
Exactly. Maybe both of them tried to fool him but Gordon at least cut of his own foot while Adam did nothing. If you think about it, Adam didn't need key. John propably created this game with many ways for two of them to escape as well as many ways for them to fail. What we see in the movie is just one of the possibilities. Gordon was able to escape, Adam maybe didn't had a key but still had a chance to escape.
John is one of my favorite characters ever. He’s such an interesting character to learn about, has an amazing voice that’s deep and asmr-esque, the incredible performances of Tobin Bell, his psychology, and his downright depressing origin
Love this analysis, however one thing that I feel is an error. You referenced his baby's death as a miscarriage. At 7 months pregnant, it would be close to viability and well over the line into stillbirth. In still birth, it IS common to bury the baby and have a grave marker for it. So this thing in particular isn't abnormal or a warning sign.
@@maskettaman1488 it's literally a key turning point in this character, so the fact that he's reacting normally instead of abnormally as the video states, is important. So it literally does matter.
@@brosef5033 It's doesn't matter because the point was that the baby died do you think he would react differently if he was told how the baby died?? It doesn't make a difference lol
I had no idea I needed this content in my life. I haven't watched a Saw movie since saw 3, but this breakdown of the whole series is pretty entertaining
Jeff's test being John's last is symbolic. Both men lost their child to accidents caused by the carelessness of others. John wanted to see if Jeff could forgive and move on in ways John was never really able to. Jeff failing his test and being unable to move on is a mirror of John dwelling on what happened to his own child and taking revenge on Cecil. Jeff killing John and losing his wife to the collar and ultimately dying as a result also mirrors how John, unable to move on, lost his wife and ultimately set him on the path to die because John was also unable to move on. Jeff would have been John's greatest accomplishment had Jigsaws method worked.
The fact that you made an hour video about this is insane. thank you (from the people too scared to watch the actual saw movies but watch videos like this)
Yes! Finally an analysis of Jigsaw that goes in depth and examines the contradictions in his life! So many other descriptions of Jigsaw and his role in the Saw films portray him as almost a kind of super-villain (verging on anti-hero) with an edgy morality. I really like the way you emphasise Jigsaw's fears/obsessions and failures as a human being and work that into his story. Kramer is a much more interesting villain when you recognise that his is a broken and terminally ill-man committed to a failing ideology, not an all knowing super-villain! Great vid!
I've always considered Saw as my favorite horror movie franchise and could never understand why people just wrote it off as "torture porn". I also enjoy movies like Insidious or traditional movies like the grudge but to me the concept of supernatural beings is not really scary as I don't believe in ghosts and whatnot. Movies like Saw and Halloween are much more realistic to me in the sense that serial killers are out there and this could (although Saw is a bit much) potentially happen in real life. Same as why natural disaster movies scare the crap out of me. I hate it when people don't look behind the traps in Saw to see the amazing storyline the writers have created throughout the series. There is no more interesting villain in a movie than Jigsaw. I think your video perfectly highlights this and I wish everyone who hasn't given Saw a chance would watch this. I stayed up all night binging your series on the characters and got reminded once more why I always say Saw is my favorite horror movies.
Its really just an 50/50 to any people u ask if they think its either good or not so yeah i can understand tho. As an anime fan myself theres character and series that i also think is misunderstood. Well anime/manga wise ig.
It really just depends on how people look at it, because the thing about saw is that the storyline is amazing but it also has the most slow burn, gruesome type traps that are very hard to watch.
The biggest tragedy of John is he did help people before he became Jigsaw, then one bad thing after another kept happening and he lost so much faith in humanity it drove him insane.
I love that you talked about his God complex. I feel like no one ever does, they just see John as a brilliant madman who is doing the right thing, even if it's brutal. Uh, no. He may have been doing that at first but he quickly spiraled out of control and used his power to decide who HE thought deserved to play his games. Killing people who didn't harm him directly at all, or people who caused pain/death but completely on accident. This is a good video. I will subscribe.
What you are addressing are the actions of his successor. John always gave his suspects a chance. True he had a god complex, but he never directly killed people.
@@jackadams3878 Unfortunately from watching the movie, it looks like the reverse bear trap was Amanda's first test. In which she pulls a key from a man's stomach. Now, you may want to refrain your previous comment on the pretense that this is still "murder".. Which I assume you most likely will. However, the argument stands.. That Amanda is a killer, her games were unwinnable, as in to say.. When she became the Jigsaw. Which retorts any inclination of how John may have behaved.

I absolutely LOVE this channel! The way you get into every nook and cranny with details along with the your comedic timing is appreciated! Especially for me that loves horror films Saw being on my top 5 favorite movies
I think John actually chose not to shock Adam because he was satisfied with how Gordon cut off his own leg showing that he had endured enough pain to protect his family regardless with whether or not he killed Adam and I guess a desire to not kill is a quality that maybe John could respect since he hates killing too (even though he does it all the time)
Brilliant breakdown, you really didnt miss anything. And im glad you gave your thoughts along the way rather then just simply recounting the story. Id love for the next iteration of Jigsaw to try and learn from Johns mistakes and at least try to be more consistent in their principles (not to say that was a flaw in Johns character writing, they executed the idea well)

@F Off yeah, definitely can't become a psychopath it's a brain difference, can't even become a sociopath or get ASPD from severe trauma if your brain has matured fully. Which John was way above 30.
@@cpenner7086 You really can't become a sociopath unless you were traumatised below the age of at least 5 or all the way up to 10 ish. You can't become a sociopath and lack empathy once your brain has fully matured, it's literally impossible dude. It is a very very well put-together video and I appreciate your effort on it, there's only one small gripe - the reason Jigsaw allowed Cecil to succumb to the razorwire is down to him escaping the trap. What a number of folk miss is that Cecil shakes the chair until it collapses, he actively abandons his chance for rebirth.
I am so glad that he cut the screen with how the baby died because that hurt me so much when I watched the movie the first time and that scene throughout the years has stuck with me loves the video by the way
I’m glad to see someone brought all this together, and it really is insane how people claim he isn’t a killer, but I’m surprised no one has done an analysis on how writing John has changed as the movies go on. In the first movies, it’s made very clear that John is a complete maniac who’s just looking for an excuse to kill people in brutal ways. But as the series moved on, it’s changed so that he has a almost comic-book level intellect and we’re supposed to feel bad for him. I refuse to believe that it was always meant to be this way because of how much they changed him. A good way to see what I’m talking about is to watch the original Saw(or Saw II) and then immediately watch the new one, Saw X. In the first 2 films, we aren’t supposed to feel any sympathy for Jigsaw whatsoever. He’s a completely psychopathic monster who assures himself with delusions. However, the newer movies paint him more as a protagonist rather than an antagonist, as in later movies he goes after people who did moderately to completely fucked-up things. The insurance guy for example or the people who were scamming cancer patients come to mind. But in the original film, he kidnapped people who were doing there jobs or simply trying to have a decent day, like Adam who’s a private investigator if I remember right or the guy who called off work(Flammable Jelly trap). While I do like the newer take on the character personally, as it does have a bit of anti-hero feel, but it’s clear that John was originally intended to be a complete monster. But as the movies went on, who slowly changed into a more sympathetic vigilante. I enjoy all these movies, but the change of John’s character from a writing standpoint really does catch me off-guard when I really think about it.
I watched them all on Peacock this past October and I must say I’m now a huge fan of the series. It gets more crazy after each movie but I absolutely love them

Its funny how arbitrarily he chooses his victims, like in the first tests one of the victims is a woman who killed her own baby and blamed her husband and later he's killing people who didn't give him good enough customer service. Jigsaw is the ultimate Karen
And the woman for being depressed
He picked William because William refused insurance to many people, not just him.
I'm assuming you're referring to the insurance guy.
Bad customer service is when a server brings you the wrong food. This guy deliberately denied Jigsaw's insurance claim for his own selfish reasons (remember: this wasn't by accident, they actually created their very own loophole.)

One thing that I love about the saw franchise is that despite the flaws in his logic among other things, he never really loses. He's always plans ahead even in death. Even if something does go astray, he has a backup plan for it.

Yea fr because usually the killer always loses they need to make more movies where that doesn’t happen
Kinda like a Xanatos Gambit (unsure how to spell it). Exactly like that, actually. John had backups and backups for the backups.
The actor who played John was a PERFECT CASTING!!! He gave that creepiness that we needed from a guy that created such weird shizzeruski.
Tobin Bell was the best casting for Jigsaw indeed.
Tobin bell crushed it as jigsaw
He reminds me a bit of Anthony Hopkin's Hannibal Lecter. He's definitely a villain and a killer.....but there's a certain honorable quality to him. He believes in manners and rules.
He was a real creep in the Fugitive'.
The one issue i had was he was too old for the character's age, if they made him in his 60's it would be better, and if Jill and him had an actual kid who was grown up and killed as an adult by Cecil, it would make more sense to me, but that''s just my thought
Quick side note: Seven months is considered a stillborn, not miscarriage. Stillbirth children are commonly buried.
Didn’t know that.
Thanks for teaching me something new.
In the United States, miscarriage is before the 20th week, stillborn is after the 20th. In the UK its the 24th week. I think Australia uses 20th week and/or weight of the child. Stillbirth is 400 grams or more.

One could chop it up to the guy saying this made an error and really meant 62.

Both started viewing their work as necessary and ended up enjoying making people fear and suffer, starting to punish petty criminals and even people who were just after them. Amazing video!

real question: do you think Jigsaw could get to Kira before Kira figures him out?

Ooh shit fam that's deep
@@livingcorpse5664 Jigsaw's just a badly written character coming from a premise that could have been interesting and played by a very good actor.
@@DrsJacksonn Nah he's just crazy.
Having someone saw your damn skull open in a janky ass "operating room" wasn't convincing enough that he's definitely out of his mind? 😆
I think John’s entire method of healing is simply giving his victims massive PTSD in the most complicated form possible
I mean, he might rationalize it a different way, but you're not wrong.

If I were a psychopath I wouldn't put myself in a room knowing there's a possibility I could die from something out of my control.
He lacked the will to live, and instead of spending his final months reflecting and handing himself in, he spent that time testing others and trying to prove his method.

I think its interesting that John Kramer was the last main character covered in saw. Like you see all the other characters covered and their history with John without talking about him to much. Now he's got his own part and its over a hour long
As they say, you save the best for last.
CZ had to train for this moment.
You burned his grilled cheese? Welcome to a trap!
I forget which movie but weren’t one of his victims someone who loved their job too much so I don’t think anyone is safe

KILLING IS DISTASTEFUL!!
Ik this is a dumb nitpick but idk why they would choose that diagnosis for him
Pedantic? Yes. Educational and interesting? Also yes. Thank you.
My headcanon on why John didn't shock Adam to check if he's dead is because he decided that Adam already failed his test by trying to fool him. That's also why he left Adam to die even if he had no chance of escaping because the key got sucked throught the drain.
Wait that makes so much sense. Especially since he just thinks his opinion is right
If Adam had cut off his own foot John might have changed his mind. But, most people just could not do that, it's amazing Dr. Gordan did.

Loveeeee how you pointed out John looked at Amanda to say “I want to play a game.” I always felt like nobody else paid attention to that.
I had no idea I needed this content in my life. I haven't watched a Saw movie since saw 3, but this breakdown of the whole series is pretty entertaining
Every time the channel logo pops up I'm expecting a commercial break. This feels like a televised documentary

John "Never make it personal." also John "I'm going to put everyone I've ever met in a trap of some kind."
Great vid!
Can we really APPRECIATE CZWorld's work? I mean it's one hour long! And he uploads 2 videos per week👏👏👏
Would never want anyone else to play as John Kramer, Tobin Bell was brilliant 👏🏻
To me both the supernatural and a possibility that a person like John could exist in our world are both scary 😂
I was scared of Don’t breath until O realised that if I didn’t rob houses it couldn’t happen to me
It really just depends on how people look at it, because the thing about saw is that the storyline is amazing but it also has the most slow burn, gruesome type traps that are very hard to watch.
Not many people have the ability to look past the gore to appreciate the creativity of how the stories tie in together
I will subscribe.
true at first he was doing what he promised to do, i guess bring justice, but then he came more and more ill and went agaisnt his own purpose
What you are addressing are the actions of his successor. John always gave his suspects a chance. True he had a god complex, but he never directly killed people.
@@rosenti amanda's first test either forced her to kill a man, or injected them with a lethal dose of drugs
Which retorts any inclination of how John may have behaved.
her game he forced her to kill someone to save her own life. thats manipulation and if you manipulate someone to kill another person you will be tried just as if you killed someone. you can go by technicalities and say oh i didnt pull the trigger i just gave them no other option too besides death. your argument doesnt have anything to stand on so cut the shit.
I absolutely LOVE this channel! The way you get into every nook and cranny with details along with the your comedic timing is appreciated! Especially for me that loves horror films Saw being on my top 5 favorite movies
I think John actually chose not to shock Adam because he was satisfied with how Gordon cut off his own leg showing that he had endured enough pain to protect his family regardless with whether or not he killed Adam and I guess a desire to not kill is a quality that maybe John could respect since he hates killing too (even though he does it all the time)
remember he’s “not a murderer” and thinks “killing is distasteful”
Also he knew leaving him would only have one end result
And everyones favorite “kramer saver” is this: Technically, John is not killing them. Therefore he isn’t a murderer!
But I didn’t kill him the trap did

Lucky for Amanda he didn't give her a literal baptism. "Amanda I baptise you in the name of the pig, the hacksaw and the puppet."

Why? Was john ever shown to be BORN this way? No he was not. He is a sociopath not a psychopath. Sociopaths can be recovered psychopaths can not
@@JdawgTheBoss actually you most defintely can become a sociopath. It is physical
@@cpenner7086 You really can't become a sociopath unless you were traumatised below the age of at least 5 or all the way up to 10 ish. That's why conduct disorder exists, most sociopaths get diagnosed with CD then in adult years sociopathy if their behaviour continues. You can't become a sociopath and lack empathy once your brain has fully matured, it's literally impossible dude. The most what could happen is Jigsaw is a normal human, traumatised by what happened, and he's angry and wants revenge on people.. Heaps of neurotypicals murder people.
@@JdawgTheBoss I'm sorry but you are LITRRALLY contradicting yourself. You say you cant become a sociopath once your brain is fully developed (which is bullshit) because you then say in the same thing that trauma and over extreme mental conditions can cause you to be a sociopath.

I SECOND THIS
I love John Kramer. He's one of my favourite horror movie villains. And I love that you mentioned Light Yagami because I love Death Note, and I too noticed similarities between John and Light
I never thought about what you mentioned at the end, John himself was missing a vital puzzle peace. Great work man!
