Had to pause so I could thank you for not using plastic to cover the stained areas as you protect them from the paint. It is something I am becoming aware of more and more. We may be saving the landfill with furniture cast offs but not going the extra distance to save our planet by reducing our plastic use in this business, so I commend you in your choice, thank you!
WOW you really did such a fabulous job! Thanks again for taking us on your journey mistakes and all, it helps us learn too. Yes it definitely was a fair price and you could have sold it for more with the colors and burl wood, just stunning!
So beautiful!! The paint and stain color combination is so striking. And you really hung in there with getting the stain on that top looking beautiful. I’m sure it was frustrating but it looks amazing now!!
Thank you, Amy! I was so grateful I figured out a solution since the top was so beautiful. It was a great learning experience, and I love how it turned out.💜
It is positively beautiful! The paint color is an excellent choice. I appreciate the stain color, how it complimented the paint color. Not too dark not too light, the shade was just right. Thank you for the perseverance you gave this piece. Love the hardware. 🍃
Thank you, Julie Ann! I love how it all came together, especially after all the trouble I had with the top.🫠 I agree about the stain being just right. I will be using it and the paint again for sure.😍
Rachel, it is seriously beautiful and stunning. I love your channel because you give such honest and helpful advice. Also loved your comment about giving “the look” to quieten a child. I had to do that with my son so often during church services, I would be crossed eyed for several hours afterwards.
Thank you so much, Karen! The encouragement means a lot! My goal is to be very honest and teach as much as I can to those who may want to learn to do the same, so I’m glad to hear you feel that way. Hahaha I’m glad you could relate to “the look.” We moms have that down!🙌😂
You made that thing look perfect-o! I could literally sense the frustration with the top & all redoing, but isn’t that just life!? Trial & error, doing & learning, failing then succeeding! The hardware turned out great, & looked amazing with the color of the top & drawers. Though still the best part of the entire flip was the reindeer socks. LoL! Truly though you did a great job & I know you learned a lot to put forward on your next one.
Thank you, Kayla! Oh no!!! I try my best to be aware of where the wind is blowing so I don’t have that happen. I know my husband would not be happy with me and I wouldn’t be pleased either.🫣😅 I have unknowingly gotten paint on the driveway tho. So probably best safe than sorry. Thanks for the tip and for watching!
I’m not an expert but I have seen people use oxalic acid on wood that has some dark spots and it essentially bleaches the wood, you can let it sit and it’ll help lift the stains. Look into it some more if you haven’t heard of it, it might help you!
Not sure if this help but I saw a furniture restorer mention not mixing water based stain with oil based top coats and vise versa. Maybe that was part of it?
Thanks for sharing that. That is something you need to be careful with. My problems actually were before I was mixing oil and water based products. Both stains I used were oil based, and the topcoat was water-based. You are supposed to wait to 3 days to apply a water-based topcoat to an oil based stain. It’s kind of a paint, but what I ended up doing here. I have since tried a wipe on polyurethane that I will use in the future and not have to wait.😅 Thanks for much for watching and for the suggestion.💜

Thanks, Kim! You’re right, sometimes you’re trading one trash for another. I do try avoid plastic when I can and also reuse paper or tape if possible.
Sooooo pretty! One of my favorite restorations!
Thank you so much! Mine, too!😊

Thanks, Kim! I, too, loved this combo. Burl wood never disappoints in my opinion!😍 Glad to hear you thought it was a fair price as well.
That wood is soooo beautiful!
Thanks, Abby! I’m so glad it turned out the way it did.😅😍
Well done for sticking with it! I know that frustration and feeling of defeat. Turned out beautifully!
Thank you, Tricia. I know it’s something we can all relate to. I’m glad it ended up how I was hoping. Thanks for watching!💜
It looks stunning! Love the wood grain and the stained top with the paint looks amazing! Absolutely gorgeous job! 👏😊❤

So beautiful! I'm watching older videos I hadn't seen yet.
Thank you! Appreciate you going back and watching some of my previous videos. This is still my favorite one I’ve done. It was such a great dresser.
turned out really nice! I usually use a wipe on poly to seal my stain, it is super easy to apply
Thank you, Lashonda! I actually just purchased some to use in the future. I’m glad to know it’s an easy one to apply.

Thank you so much! You’re right, it’s so much like life for sure. My reindeer socks also say thank you!🤪
It"s gorgeous! Love the outcome.
Thank you, Katalin! I was so pleased, too.😍
Beautiful job!! And just FYI, you may want to move your vehicles when you spray!! My car ended up with a green haze all over it from overspray!!
Thank you, Kayla!

Thank you for sharing every step of the process. super helpful =)
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful job❤
Thank you!! It was such a great quality piece to work on.
That one is so pretty you might should have kept it!!
It was tempting but I didn’t have a good spot for it.😕 It found a great home tho!
Beautiful job!
Thank you, Mary!☺️

Thank you for the suggestion! I actually just purchased some to have on hand for when I need it.
Barkeepers friend works great on those dark spots.
