Great video. So many moments that I said to myself, “I need to remember that.”
But the best part was the paper install. 😂

Thanks, Mary! I’m glad it was helpful and that you enjoyed the paper install.🫠🤣 It definitely won the first attempt.🫠

I love how she turned out! The tiger oak wood grain looks amazing and you can't even tell that you've had to do any repairs to the veneer! :)

This looks amazing! I love using wipe on poly for stained furniture. Recently I started using an old sock to apply it. I put on my gloves, then the clean sock over my hand. I cut a hole in sock for my thumb to stick out. It makes application so much easier and quicker.

Thanks, Chris! That’s a great idea on the sock - I will try that next time. Thanks! I’ve seen someone use it for applying stain, too. I really loved using the wipe on poly. I will definitely be using it again.

Looks amazing. Unique piece of furniture. You did a fantastic job as always .Feel you on the paper lining. Those confined areas are really difficult to get to.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you!! It certainly is a unique piece and it was fun to work on. That paper was such a pain. I was way too optimistic in trying to line the back of the cabinet, too.🙈🤣

Next time try laying the piece on its back and it may be easier to get it on the back too!

Absolutely STUNNING!! You did an exceptional job bringing this piece back to life. Also, thank you for showing your stripping process with Acetone. I’ve been liking using it more and more too. It seems to work faster and it’s a bit more thorough than some of the other chemical strippers. Re: how smooth the oak veneer felt after sanding. I’ve noticed that too on some older pieces. I wonder if the older woods have a tighter grain (old growth trees) so they’re harder to scuff up with sanding (?)

Thanks so much, Amy! I appreciate the rave review coming from you! I’m glad seeing the acetone stripping was helpful. I, too, like how thorough it is. You’re also dealing with less gunk like you do with a typical stripper. It’s nice to have options since stripping isn’t my favorite.😅
That’s a really interesting theory about older wood. I wouldn’t be surprised. I had an antique Eastlake dresser I redid recently that seemed to have really tight grain, too.
