    Wow- broad around the back/shoulder, no waist, small hips and legs... me!! Thanks for this. Most people don't get that tucking everything in/belting to show the waist just emphasizes that we don't curve in much! That small tuck is key. All the rest too. And thanks to beautiful Mel!

    So interesting watching this on a real person and Mel looks amazing. Loved too many outfits to pick one out.. I'm always amazed when you style things and they go from dowdy to stunning. I'm with Mel on the boots and trainers - to my mind boots that cut you across the shins aren't (in my view flattering but a lot of people like that). Love your dress!

    Really useful approach on these videos - more helpful than style “rules” set in stone. Wasn’t sold on the light blazer/short coat - think it was lapel width:blazer length ratio or too much one colour, can’t fathom out why but loved video overall.

      @@mmpersonalstyling I'm binge watching your videos. I love that you are Showcasing a variety of body shapes. You make everyone look lovely. Im now 46 and carrying the extra 20 Covid pounds. It's been a challenge and I am grateful for your channel. I have a question about "dated" styles. Sometimes the latest styles don't suit me. Instead of following trends I feel best setting my own trends. Wearing vintage. I also never stopped wearing low rise, slightly boot cut jeans when the style has been skinny jeans. And the high waisted mom Jean trend. I felt they didn't suit me. Is it important to be on trend? Or is it okay to ignore trends that I'm not thrilled with? Some seasons I love the new styles. Other seasons or years I am not happy with the style. So I just ignore it. I don't want to get in a rut or look like my style hasn't changed in twenty years. Should I try to add modern pieces each season,

However, I have to say that first turtle neck aggravated me! It was so high it was actually over the bottom half of her face! I kept saying, "do something with that turtleneck!" Lol! • @mmpersonalstyling
      @mmpersonalstyling  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Lisa. Whilst it is a great suggestion, it's something that visually doesn't work on screen unless i've got several models in front of me to show what I mean and that's difficult to get the volunteers. However, I think people do want to see more about colour so i was thinking of doing some sort of video on how to insert colour into your wardrobe. Within that I can then cover the basics of what colours suit which people. In all honesty, as a modern day stylist we poo poo the likes of 'colour me beautiful' and that type of colour analysis not because they're wrong - they're 100% right in saying that colours do suit certain skin tones better than others BUT, that's not to say that you can't wear that particular colour anywhere else on your body, sometimes I can even get the 'wrong' colour working by your face by using necklaces, layering and accessories. I've met too many ladies over the last 20 + years who come to me saying they can only wear browns, reds and purples (for example) and it causes them too much restriction when they go shopping and ultimately prevents them from building a capsule wardrobe. Hope that helps in some way. Thank you for watching x

    I’m a perfect post at 36” exactly straight up and down on a 5’ 2” frame. Regular clothes simply don’t fit right anywhere. Petite sizes fit best on shoulders and length, but petite tops are almost impossible to find anymore and what is available is usually in soft pastels which don’t suit my skin and hair tones at all. I went shopping for Spring clothes a few days ago and came home with six pairs of socks and tears. And then, I open UA-cam and there you are in my feed. I’m pouring through your videos this morning. I’d love to take you shopping with me. Fancy moving to Canada?

      @@mmpersonalstyling What is real mind blowing is that sometimes the UA-cam signal is broadcast via satellite and this signal is then leaked into space. So for all intensive purpose, aliens could be watching as well. I sometimes think it may be easier to get them, the aliens, to subscribe to my little channel than humans on earth. Have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks in advance!!

    • @mmpersonalstyling
      @mmpersonalstyling  3 роки тому +2

      Hello Patricia. This is VERY normal at your age (and my age!). I see it all the time in women who have gone/going through menopause so you're not alone! It's very dependent on your height and your weight as well so whilst I can give you the generic answers they're not overly helpful unless I know your body scale. Have you seen episode 2 and 3 of the body shape master classes? Both of these deal with ladies who carry extra weight around their tummy's. Have a look to see if they're good for you, fingers crossed there's something in them you can relate to.

      I would focus on distracting the eye away from the mid section. I’d wear nice necklines and details on tops to do this, jewellery in the neckline and make sure you have a good bra on so the belly and boobs are two separate areas (they can start to merge into one and another!). Try shoulder pads as this will make everything look smaller. Create longer length in the torso too by wearing longer lines (long coats, long cardigans). Hope that helps!

    Love your videos. Would you consider doing one on the importance of what we wear under our clothes, best bras etc. I think this is a neglected area.

    • @mmpersonalstyling
      @mmpersonalstyling  3 роки тому +1

      There are strict rules on UA-cam around being in underwear and speaking about it isn’t as good as showing im afraid . Plus there’s no way I’m standing there in my bra and pants (nobody needs to see that!!!) so I’m afraid it’s a difficult one to do on here. I do cover this privately with my clients so if you wanted a session then I’d be more than happy to help you. All the details are on my website www.mmpersonalstyling.Co.uk Thank you for watching x
