I've gotten SO MANY compliments for my styling since I try to follow your rules, it's just amazing. And I stopped thinking about my belly alltogether! You really changed my life! It's about more than just clothes...
Love hearing this, thank you for sharing.
You had me at three C-sections... Same here. Lovely looks on you! Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing!!! 💝
You are so welcome!
Me too!
Me too I've had 3 C- sections and I call it my bum bag!!
I’ve had 11 sections and I’m under 5’
Thank you Antonia for being so open. You look amazing and the openness addressing issues makes us all feel that just like you, we are all beautiful. Thank you Melissa for helping us understand how to invest in pieces that will make us feel as gorgeous as Antonia.
You are so welcome
I’m 5’3 , age 63, and built a lot like this lady. I love all the pieces you have chosen for her. Very flattering and she looks so pretty! Good tips.
Thanks for sharing!
Please keep dressing Antonia. I get so much out of it and love the style. I hope you can do a summer feature with her with shorts and casual shirts!
Thank you for using a body height and weight so many of us are.
I like how Antonia says she's "wobbly" in the middle, and I’m a lot more wobbly because I’m 76 and really "loose!" Thank you, Melissa, for these tips. I’m going to buy some shoulder pads. 😊 Great video. I really love these outfits on Antonia.
You're so welcome!
Fantastic video, I too am built just like her only I have a little bigger belly! Thank you for acknowledging us 5’1” women! We are not all tall and lean!
Lol “ I just pull it to the side “ you said it out loud. Everyone is laughing and saying me too . Great video.
😁
In a one piece bathing suit, yes.😊
As someone who is 5 feet tall 48 I am so happy you’ve uploaded this video. Please do a video only on undergarments and finding the right fit? It makes such a huge difference and I struggle finding the right size. ❤❤
We cover this in our online styling course, it’s too hard to find a model willing to stand in their underwear on UA-cam.
Yes, great idea.
I’m 5 ft as well as!!!! Thank you so much!!
Gosh you stole my thoughts exactly. What undergarments do you choose
Couldn’t agree more. Really stumped with the underwear. Nearly alll bras are padded making an already big problem bigger(so to speak…. I’m very like your lovely assistant except with a bigger bust and just feel like a brick on legs!)
Thank you Melisa and Antonia. I am 5ft no inches. I am 69 but in my head I’m still 17. Over the years I’ve had problems with trousers, my inside leg only measures 25” I have a short torso, I think you called it and in the last ten years I have developed a huge stomach. I love to wear dresses, not as keen on tops and skirts so I’m very happy I’ve found you.
Melissa, you’ve truly reshaped the way I dress. You understand the lumps and bumps of ordinary people!
Huge thank you to Antonia. She looked amazing ❤ especially loved the rainbow dress.
Brilliant advice as always. I am a 5’2” tree trunk body type 😂 still haven’t found that specific type to dress myself after.
The same rules would apply to you as they did Antonia.
Thank you for showing the two skirt looks at the end and explaining the styling aspects. Great video ❤
I came here to say the same thing! She looked fabulous in that dress.
And me five foot tree trunk or l say l look like a barrel
Antonia is just so lovely and honest with her feelings about her conscious area. Thanks for another great video.
Our pleasure!
Melissa, thank you for sharing your knowledge in such an open, practical and positive way. You and your team are the sort of women every woman needs in her life. ❤
Wow, thank you!
I love Antonia's personality. Thanks for sharing this! She looks great in the fitted tops.
You are so welcome!
At last, a video for us shorties with stomachs 😊 I have had lots of surgeries for colo rectal cancer and also have a stoma and parastomal hernia so this is very informative. Thanks ❤
You’re very welcome. 😊
My favorite video so far. As you say in the UK this is brilliant. Thank you Antonia for being so open and I loved when you said you didn’t feel comfortable in the v-neck shirt even though you were told it looked great. It was super helpful seeing the items that didn’t work and explaining why. I often look at myself and know I don’t like it, but don’t know why.
Antonia looks lovely in all the outfits. Well done Melissa. 🌺🌺
I’m 55 and 5’3 with an overweight Apple shaped body. Thank you for the tips! We struggle to find anything that looks flattering! ❤️🇦🇺🇬🇧
Happy to help!
I‘m so going to style my mum with this video! She asked me to go shopping with her, so the timing is perfect. 😂
Have fun!
That lump as you call it, on the lower portion of your stomach has been also called an apron.
As in nursing!!
Yes that was what I called it ,when I was still working .
"I just pull aside" - hilarious! I thought it was only me. Great, precious styling tips here. Many thanks.
Sometimes I’m too honest for my own good!!!
Thanks Melissa, I am taller than Antonia but have the same stomach issue. Also you are now my casual guru, got loads of compliments in just wearing the similar tone leisure suit , matching coat, hat etc...... thank you so much.
So glad to hear that, everyone loves a compliment!
Same stomach issue, short too, even at my clothing size (Canada, US sizing) usually 4 or 6. So wrong!🥴
Thank you I found it. I call it a kangaroo pouch as I come from Australia. I always worry about wide leg as well
What a wonderful series. I have the same body type as Antonia and I have completely changed my mind on how to dress. I have a beautiful dress and when I wear it people ask if I have lost weight. Now I know that it’s the drape of the dress. Snug at the bust scoop neck drapes over the “problem” areas. Thank you so much for these lessons
Love that ❤️
Melissa, thanks again for another great video. Many thanks to Antonia for modelling. Perhaps, if I'm not being too forward to suggest it, but a video on accessories. How to accessorise, what types of accessories for different types of outfits, & different price points. I do hope you enjoyed the fashion show last week?
I did, thank you. I’ll add an accessories video to the request list x
The official name of the tummy that hangs lower is the pannus. I adored the clothes today. Tracy
You learn something new everyday, thank you!!!
I was burning gray matter over that. I kept coming up with pannicula which I don’t even think is anything! Thank you!
It’s panniculus! We were both close :)
She looks incredibly confident and super happy with the RIGHT clothing. You’re are by far the best stylist I have ever come across. Thank you so much for all this information.
Oh wow - that's a very lovely thing to say, thank you.
I've just got an office job where I need to be smart casual and was stressing about what to wear. I carry weight around my middle (menopause) and have a large bust, broad shoulders but now I have so many ideas and will be popping to M&S for a try on!! Thank you both 😊
Most of the items aren’t in store, only online (unless you live close to a flagship store that is). X
Thank you so much for this video. I am 5’1” and have the same problems after three caesareans. I’m older than Antonia but found the hints and info really helpful. I am a happy subscriber.
I’m 4’11” same as her apple shape thank you for bringing her back again.
Thank you so much!! As a short waisted person also conscious about my midsection, all of this is gold. Antonia looks amazing!
Glad it was helpful!
What is it with the giant armholes on so many sleeveless tops?
Come on, manufacturers. We don't want our bras showing and or gapping/bagging. 😮
I agree!
I absolutely HATE those oversized armholes. I refuse to buy anything made this way. Not the newest thing is those fluffy, "flutter" sleeves that flip and flap around. Stupid and ugly. Take them away please!!
What a great Woman. By doing this Video she will inspire other Ladies to feel good in their Clothes by wearing the right pieces and by taking Melissa tips on board.
This was so good!
5ft 2" and also 3 C-sections. I can never find a dress that looks decent on me. I love the teal dress you chose for Antonia! Great video!
Antonia is lovely. I particularly liked the cream bomber jacket w/the brown pants and the dark blue dress w/white boots. This will help me style my petite mom.
Melissa and Antonia you two are gorgeous! 🤩Love the styles you chose for Antonia 🥰
Thank you!
I’m 4’9 and post menopausal and I notice my mid section is changing too. I love the first dress. I’m looking into getting that. 😊I enjoyed watching this video thank you!
You’re very welcome x
I have been struggling so much with this same issue and begun to hate facing the closet in the morning. This was a masterful optical illusion of how to do a sleeker look. Your model is sweet, beautiful and funny and looked gorgeous in your selections.
That’s very lovely of you to say, thank you x
Fabulous as usual! I am a taller person with the short abundant waist…thank you for the great tips.
She looks amazing and confident! I’m glad to see that the outfits are simple without a lot of layers.
There were some great choices. Antonia looked great in all of them.
I had three c-sections, too. Have the apron. I completely understand.
I LOVE your guest
This video is SPOT ON! I´ve loved all your videos, but this one speaks to me. I´m 5´3´, I used to be hourglass shaped, but my small waist has disappeared into a soft middle. This,
despite regular weight training at the gym. I´ve had a terrible time finding clothes in recent years. Add to that, I´m a ballroom dance student (Yes, at my advanced age), and this video helped explain why I've had such hard time finding dance clothes, both for practice and for performance, that are flattering. I am shopping while watching the video. Did you know that the adorable denim dress is now completely sold out. I'm sure it's because of this video. If you see something similar, I'd love to have a look. Also, a couple of the shoe choices weren't visible. I'd especially like to see what the "brown sandal" looked like. Thank you MM and Antonia. I feel lighter just watching the video.
I’ve got the lower tummy thing going on. Here in Australia I call it the verandah over the tool box!😂🤣🇦🇺🤣🙄🇦🇺
🤣🤣
Yes, indeed we do!!
Very funny!!
😅😅😅
Thank you Melissa and beautiful Antonia. This was the best class ever. I especially feel like this is for me, because at five foot two. The tighter white shirt looked amazing on her. I know we are our harshest critics. She just looks amazing in that denim dress . She looks teeny..no problems what’s so ever. The second dress was amazing. I would have never had picked that. I love the coat. Let’s be honest I loved it all. ❤❤❤ Melissa you are amazing. !!!!
Thank you 🙏 glad you liked it x
Dunlop. That is what I call mine. 2 csections and weight loss now. She just has done lopped over. 🤷🏼♀️ I am down 90 pounds so she is hanging lower. This was awesome. I am shopping for new summer clothes. Now a 14, so I can buy regular size clothes now plus! Loved the info. Ready to go shopping.
Dunlop 🤣…. Well done on your weight loss journey, enjoy your new shape!
Good job. I'm 5'1" 67 years young.. I already use some of these tips, and found them by playing with my pieces. I just started using shoulder pads again, it helps. I also scrunch tops under my suits. I'm in love with the wide leg pants because I was a cargo queen back in the day. Thanks for sharing!
Yay! Thanks for showing the long jean skirt too, I find that hard to wear and I share the same body shape. You look wonderful!
My thoughts exactly. I thought she was going to need a more voluminous skirt to balance the waist.
Loved this video. I have the same stomach problem. I’m 66, 5 ft 4 but my chest is 34G. I never wear white on top unless there’s a layer on top like you showed. I also have a short torso & long legs so people always think I’m much taller. Keep making these. I learn so much. By the way I live in NY. ❤
Also 5ft 4in (really 5 ft 3 1/2in!), 58 and a NYer and trying to style around my C-section shelf and tummy has been so frustrating! Have been trying these styling tips and it's getting better.
5’2” over here! Loved all the looks and tips. Antonia is stunning 🤩 I specially liked all the trouser looks and the linen striped dress. Thank you Melissa! ❤
LOVE it all! Especially that dark skirt with the light top and sweater!
Omgoodness this is awesome. I'm an apple shape regular size. I have often worn dresses cut in this fashion and was in love with my look. I couldn't figure out why? Teaching me why and how is SUPERB! Thank you thank you thank you. I Love this channel.
You are so welcome!
I absolutely love your videos! I have revamped my closet, and following all of your advice am loving my new wardrobe! Looking good makes you FEEL good!
One of the biggest pieces of your advice that has hit home is to purchase items for you REAL life. I’ve been buying EVERYDAY wear with your suggestions, and LOVE it!
THANK YOU!!!!!
Wonderful!
I'm so thrilled to have found this channel, and this video specifically. I am 5'3", size 10 US, 4 c-sections. The shelf is REAL. Thanks so much for the ideas. I love the transparency and honesty here!
Welcome aboard! Lovely to have you with us xx
I can totally relate to the models body shape , I am the same and have had 3 caesareans also .Good tips here to disguise that stomach area .😊
Thank you ladies for such a wonerful and helpful video!! Antonia looked amazing in all of these outfits!! I would never have tried on the rainbow colored dress but it was probably my favorite!! Just gorgeous on!!❤ I feel that my shape and size is so similar but with a larger bust. Being 5'3" with a tummy, short torso and larger bust is such a challenge when it comes to fashion!! Thanks again to you both!! ❤
Dramatically Helpful with the visual!
Thank you so much for styling for petite ❤❤❤ at 4’11” it’s hard to dress for office wear daily. I love all these suggestions so much.
You are so welcome!
This was so helpful. Although I’m 5’8, I have all the same issues as the model. I usually wear dresses in petite size so the waist hits me at my waist
You are awesome, Melissa! So helpful. And thanks to Antonia - love her haircut.
She looks amazing!!!!
OMG someone who understands that an empire waist works for our body type (petite short-torso apple)!!!
Wow! Thank you. for a 5ft, big boobed woman with the same body issues, I have found this masterclass to be so illuminating. I'm off to review my wardrobe.
Best of luck!
Antonia did a fabulous job modeling for us today. I too am petite at 5'2" and also have a short torsos. I really appreciated all the various trousers that you styled today. I'm in the market for a nice black pair to add to my wardrobe and will definitely check yours out. Mellissa, thanks for all you do to keep us looking our very best!
Thank you Antonia and Melissa! I, too, am a petite. Antonia, you are beautiful and I appreciate you honesty and authenticity. Melissa, your expertise and tips are very much appreciated.
Thank you so much! 😊
You ladies rock! The honesty makes all the advice so much more authentic!
Thank you x
The striped rick rack dress is gorgeous. My favorite! Carrying the big tote bags gets in the way of seeing the full outfit. Maybe show the outfit first, then add the bag?
Yes, please, more on undergarments that help the outer garments complimenters, and looks so good especially bras
MM you are the best I’ve seen on UA-cam with styling and your signature hourglass ⌛️ method! Blessings be poured out to your channel 😊
Wow, thank you!
Antonia looked amazing in every outfit. Well done both of you.
I absolutely love this collection. Thank you ! (from a 5’2)
So glad!
Wow, she looks great in everything. Such great advice, thank you!
I also am happy for Antonia to be on the show. Even though I am not short(5'7). I carry weight about the middle with a short torso, and the stomach apron( fupha) from having 2 c-sections.
You're brilliant Melissa 👏 👌 ❤ . So many stylists say don't do this, or that. Never wear this colour or wear a peplum top 😮horror of horrors 😮. Your methods and your styling make SO much sense. Thank you🎉thank you for your advice. And yes living in a hot humid environment doesn't mean I can just pop on a nice trench coat 😅😂 . ❤ your work. ❤ how Antonia looks and obviously feels💚🐨
Thank you 🙏
I appreciate the positive spin.
I have loved Antonia since you styled her in the patterned puff sleeve dress from Zara last year (which I bought btw, and have received MANY compliments on it). MORE ANTONIA PLEASE!!! Specifically, I would love to see you style her in matching 2 pc sets (skirt / shirt or short / shirt combos). THANK YOU!!!!
At 25:06 the second model in from the left - I would love to see a body shape master class with her as I can really relate to her shape, height and age 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻☺️. Thank you for todays video, as usual so helpful and educating. Superb ⭐️
Yep that shelf left from surgery is a killer to the figure! Thank you Antonia for representing us shorter women. Im much older so have more problems but it’s lovely to at least see a shorter model.
Antonia is a fabulous model!! Well done!! And I have been following Melissa for 2 + years now and it's been wonderful!! Game changer Life changer!!! Thanks so much!
Thank you, that’s so great to hear x
I really appreciate the attention to detail but also your comments about “hot countries” because as much as I really like the navy blue cargo , white shirt , blue striped shirt brown long line coat the whole thing had me sweating by watching.😅 but she looked beautiful and if yall have that cool a weather then that is great .
You have amazing talents for styling. I can never get anything whatsoever to look right 🌸🌸
Thank you 🙏. We can always help you. If you visit www.mmpersonalstyling.co.uk you can find out all of the details. X
@@mmpersonalstyling thank you - I will have a look
If I saw the zigzag dress on the rack, I would’ve thought the same thing it’s hideous. I love you all. You get me out of my comfort zone and I look fabulous thanks to your videos.❤
🤗
I thought the same and I usually don’t wear such bright colours or such big patterns. I always think I’m too short (5 ft) to wear big patterns or over-sized clothing. I think they overwhelm my body. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for all the advice. I love v-neck tops because I think I look better in them. I didn’t realise that it was a "rule". 😂
I just know what I like and feel confident in. Also for close fitted, thin tops I would size up so that it’s not so tight but still skims the body.
Will you be doing petite pear soon? I am learning so much, and seeing some lovely choices. Thanks 😊
I’m a petite pear so anything I wear would work for you.
All three things combined at the same time: v neck, puffed shoulder, fitted bodice w/ skimming main body of dress! Yes. Thank you
You're so welcome!
Thank you! Thank you so MUCH for showing a side view! I was also one of your viewers who requested this. I don’t know why it helps with my own confidence, but it does. It was watching your videos and seeing all shapes styled that gave me the confidence to do French tucks! I’m 5 feet as well and it really does helps elongate my body even though I have a tummy too.
See - we do listen and take your comments on board and I’m so glad that it’s given you the confidence to try new things. There’s no magic trickery going on, just balancing out of ladies figures using our Hourglass Balancing Method of Styling that literally works on everyone, regardless of shape, height etc. x
Thank you for all you do! You're wonderful and you give such great tips!
I know how to style my teen who has a very different body type for her bc of you. So now she knows what’s best for her body type.
I love the 9:23 two blue dresses on Antonia.
Fantastic video. SO useful. Thanks so much x
Glad it was helpful!
I see myself in your model. I am also 5'1" tall with a short torso and a fuller tummy/lower abdomen area. I like the skimming of the dresses, and I agree about leaving buttons open to avoid being overwhelmed by fabric. I have a hard time with puffy sleeves, because my bust and shoulders are broad. This creates way too much volume on me. Thanks to you, I have learned to do scoop or v-neck instead of crew neck and a more fitted silhouette or fabrics that drape for balance. Finding slacks and jeans with a proper rise are difficult, because of the fullness in my waist area (U.S. sizes 8/10). I have learned to alter my pants for better fit in the hips and thighs, as my waist fits better in the larger sizes and hips in the smaller sizes.
Great video! Finally a model built like me! Thanks Antonia!
You're welcome!!
Such a helpful video & so relatable! Thanks Antonia for being so brave & honest. Thanks Melissa for showing the fixes.
You are so welcome!
I need someone to definitely help me choosing a wardrobe. She looks absolutely beautiful. Love your style as well🩵
Thank you so much!! We do help people all over the world on a 1:1 basis, you can find out the details at www.mmpersonalstyling.co.uk
I have the same situation due to a complete hysterectomy that I had 30 years ago. It also has become more noticeable as I’ve gotten older. This program was perfect information. My favourite was the striped summer dress, I’m lusting after that one! Thanks so much Melissa and Antonia! ❄️🇨🇦❄️
Across the pond in America we call it a stomach apron! From surgeries where they cut the muscle you never naturally get that flat stomach back…
Great looks and the descriptions of each outfit excellent
Glad you liked it!!
Thnku for sharing grt tips of styling ❤
Hey pls make a video on larger (protruding) stomach n long torso with height 5'3"..😊
Stay Blessed Stay Happy Always 🥰😘🤗🧚♀️🦄🌈🧿
