【My Mom's WHITE SUGAR CAKE】Have you tried rice cake steamed in a tea cup?

  • Traditionally, these cakes are steamed in large round steamers and then cut up in triangles. My mom decided to make it a bit more fancy by steaming them in tea cups. I decided to make it even fancier by using coconut milk instead of water. So here it is, our family's twist on a classic rice based dessert.
    Ingredients
    Rice Flour 140g
    Coconut milk 250ml
    Water 25ml
    White Sugar 1/3 (can go a bit less)
    Active Dry Yeast 1/2 tsp
    Oil
    Black Sesame Seeds

    Thanks i just seen your mom coconut milk version. Am surprised the comments link put me into this channel. There is s Chinese in Manila who makes puto rice cake in English though it didn't burst at the top but has a wonderful texture that is a secret. I will try if your mom's rice cake is at par to the rice cake i sought for.the seller of the rice cake never mentioned to me where she bought until now am still seeking to this mystery rice cake makers thanks
