Thank you for posting my favourite Dream Theater song in this live version. James’ voice was pretty much spot on to the studio version. The only thing I don’t really like is Jordan Rudess playing so loud as to drown out John Myung on Bass. Mike Portnoy’s vocals were spot on and John Petrucci’s guitar was perfect as always. This is an epic track and NOT a medley as someone has commented on here. IMHO the best ever Prog rock track.

I rarely like DT after Kevin Moore went out from the band, but this song is amazing. Especially the third part, Full Circle, is mindblowing !! It seems like if the song before that part is the calm, from there begins the storm, reflected even in the lyrics where the disorder takes place of the order (Jack The Ripper, Owens Wilson, Phillips and my Supper's Ready for example). AMAZING !!

Marco Visconti consider that he has a rotating set list every single night and has to perform a bunch of songs that 1. He didn’t write lyrics to 2. Are 10+ minutes long 3. Haven’t been played live in years...some like 15 years at that point, some he’d never done before that tour. 4. Jet lag, illness, all other things that are involved with being in a band that tours as heavily as DT does. It’s not hard and I definitely do not think that James gets the credit he deserves

I have nothing wrong against Backing Tracks and I understand why they are being used, but the simple factor that LaBrie goes there and triggers the chords makes the whole live experience more organic. Also miss his percussion jams. It seems that lately everything is about making the same show clock-controlled every night.

Hes the only one who really has to wear it because when you hit a cymbal 2 ft from your head you cant hear any high frequencies so for something like a guitar/keyboard solo its essential he can hear them over those cymbals.

@@MrModicum Food poisoning fucked up his voice?? Never heard of that. But, OK... Not to be mean - I feel for him, if that's really the case, but, still, if it prevented him from singing properly, he should've stepped aside. His singing is the reason I never really got into DT. It's just so weak.

@@MrModicum I looked it up, and listened to an interview he gave about it. He said that it took a number of years for him to get back to being able to do what he did before. - That was 20+ years ago... - So, yeah....., nah.... I just think that he's just weak. Especially compared to the other's chops. And, generally speaking, I also just don't like his voice. It's the same with Rush. I like Geddy's voice far more than LaBrie's, but I also think that they should've had stronger vocalist. I know that that's up to taste but, in the case of LaBrie, I really don't think that he's a great vocalist.

Wtf, labrie sucked (as usual) Rudess’s timing was off, JP’s guitar was not in perfect tune. Love this song and love this band but this wasn’t great

Lol overrated. These musicians work way more harder and are much more talented than actual overrated oldschool shitty bluesy dudes. Ofc, your skill capacity will call them overrated.

I'm sure you have no idea of how guitars, keyboards and even bands as a whole work.. There's no other explanation for whatever bizzare idea of music you want to compare this with..
I'd say rather go back and enjoy the hannah Montana bullshit you probably are used to..
      Sincerely, a prudent metal fan!
