In The Presence of Enemies really shows what Labrie is capable of. He gets so much shit for his inconsistent vocal, but when he nails it, he fucking NAILS it.
Labrie understands how to sing at a high level. Back in the day he used to nail performances all the time. Now he’s just this shell of his former self. I really wish they had gotten better cameras for this. a lot of it looks like it was shot on some video cameras they got on sale at walmart instead of pro level cameras.
+Perry D I agree, but the whole point of this DVD is that is was (meant to be) the best performances of tracks from the entire tour. I can't imagine how much it would have cost to have pro cameras at every single show.
Portnoy noted in his FAQ on his website that a full DVD shoot usually costs about $100,000. Considering that Chaos in Motion was to highlight the best performances from the whole tour cycle, that would be a lot of money to set up at every show, plus add extra money to have everything moved from show to show and camera operators would have to travel with the band too. It’s a lot to manage. Besides, it really doesn’t bother me too much, the performance alone is what I’m here for, and man does DT deliver.

Dark Master inside
I cannot see his face
But I could feel his spite
A presence from the dead
Abandoned by the light
This shadow will consume him
from within
This power that I sense
The rage behind those eyes
Is just a shrouded ghost
A spirit sealed inside
The body and the soul both threats
For they are one
Angels fall
all for you
heretic
Demon heart
bleed for us

I judge and I am just

Nothing more shall I want
Walk,
Through the abyss
Into the shadow of death
Fear,
There is no evil to fear now
For I know you are with me
My,
Cup overflows
With my enemy's blood
I,
Decay in the house of the lord
Forever, amen
Death,
Will follow me
All the days of my life
I judge us
my eyes see
I judge and I am just
For I speak of the beast
That lives in all of us
Unwelcome ones
your time has come

The solo conclusion of part 1 is crazy! It’s insane the range of emotions they can throw at you in one song
if popularity scaled with legitimate talent these guys would probably already be billionaires.
I really wish they had gotten better cameras for this. a lot of it looks like it was shot on some video cameras they got on sale at walmart instead of pro level cameras.
+Perry D yeah, a lot of the DVD is like that,,, it was like they threw it together hastily,,but the playing offsets it
+Perry D I agree, but the whole point of this DVD is that is was (meant to be) the best performances of tracks from the entire tour. I can't imagine how much it would have cost to have pro cameras at every single show.
probably a lot,,Rush had them at every show the last few tours...
@@Jak2star it's a great live DVD for sure but i find it hard to believe they couldn't afford it ? Their Live in Budokan DVD is visually perfect.
When the editor cuts the second the singer sings ''My enemies blood'' -
IT IS TERIBBLE!
18:50 John vs John
21:10 Mike's stick-in-the-nose technic
Absolute Masterpiece!
YES ive been hoping someone would post this so badly!
5 giants on stage together!!!
Dear God, how much I miss Portnoy
And I understand how good Mangini is, one of the best drummers in the world, but Portnoy was Dream Theater's soul
Yeah... I miss Portnoy and his randomness.
+Vitor Isaia He had much better communication and connection with the audience
I find him and his randomness dissapointing, not in the level as in studio
have you met dt and with mike mangini well why ask your statement means nothing why is mike portnoy and mike mangini beat friends ...KNOW IT ALL
Initially I liked Mangini, but the more the time pass the more I appreciate Portnoy. To hell with theory, the man rocks!
What the fuck is a Portnoy?
Flawless
Magistral!!!!! Por Dios, los escucho y se me hace un nudo en la garganta, es impresionante la catarata de emociones que despiertan en mi.
en chile tuvimos el placer de que nos tocaran en vivo estas dos canciones. obra maestra
Vas en diciembre?
Went back to watch this which is at my Top 5 favorite DT songs. ✌🏻
this was a good time to see them. I saw them twice.
2 min de intro iniciais que valem mais do que a biblioteca INTEIRA de funk do brasil. o restante da musica fica pra valer por todos que ainda vao sair daki ate o infinito.
An amazing song and a what a performance.
This was DT’s golden age 🔥🔥
i went to both of the systematic chaos tours in detroit, ‘07 and ‘08, i was 9 & 10 at the time and this is the only way i can relive this show so thanks for uploading 🤙🏻
Amazing Labrie ♥♥
Myung's bass lines just lock down these grooves. I think this album was where I really noticed how much of a beast he really is.
Absolutely amazing footage of this tour. I saw them 3 times. Just amazing.
awsome sound!
