Patrick, thank you for the informative video. I just received my new PantoRouter and was having difficulty matching the mortice size to the tenon. I could not find the instructions in the guide that explained changing the guide bearings from mortice to tenon. You are very good at explaining the steps for using the machine. I hope you continue with the series. I just subscribed to your channel and will be on alert for more of your videos.
Looks a lot a machine and effort to do one of the most basic things all woodworker should know there are better homemade jigs out there I think but got to give 100% on the enthusiasm

I think the PantoRouter is interesting but if you really want the best manual control horizontal mounted router for jointery.... check out the JDS Multirouter.
what does that have to do with stoneage vs metric? 2x4s would still be the same size, only the numbers would be different. 3.5 inches or 88.9 millimeters, it wouldn't make any difference to the 2x4 :-)
lol that imperial isn't real love your videos already. And to be fair an inch is officially defined as 25.4mm. So in reality the imperial system doesn't really exist.
You might get more subs if you were to stop shitting on people who use the imperial system......just because you can't understand it doesn't mean we don't. Furthermore, most of the world once used the imperial system.....they just had to create something so that the slower people in society could still use their fingers and toes to do the math....

We don't use fractions for precision work, fractions are mostly taught to kids learning to share apples, cookies etc. We use a 10 based decimal system JUST LIKE YOU DO in metrics....l can teach you if you'd like, assuming you still have all ten digits, lol
@@timbeconaus just to be clear, I'm fluent in BOTH systems and use them interchangeably in machine work, woodworking, weights and measures etc. on a daily basis..... 3d printing is based on the metric system, machine work and woodworking are about half and half, pyrotechnic "recipes" are mostly metric ...and the list goes on My original comment still stands....you shit on your viewers, you piss them off.....just compare your number of subs with other channels that have been live for the same amount of time, not even close for the most part.....but hey, it's your loss
Perhaps another example of the Aussie sense of humour not translating well... there have been some cracking 'freedom units' jokes on our channel, but not everyone appreciates them, and we usually get a couple of apoplectic Americans in the comments...
Let's not forget that the metric system is much easier to use because of those insane conversion factors. In the metric system every single conversion factor is a power of 10. There's a million mm in a km. How many inches in a mile? edit: ffixed YET ANOTHER autocorrupt fuckup :-( and a typo
Was interested until he pissed on the imperial system. Apparently there are more wood workers using the imperial system since the templates are marked in Imperial. Oh that's right, American's have the money. So sorry you will not be getting mine.

How would you create a mortise in the middle of a 8ft long timber. The fence is getting in the way.
Remove the fence.

Once you get a shaper origin handheld cnc you will be able to create any inlays or joints without templates.
As an American I love the jab at the Imperial system! It's barbaric and obnoxious to use. Great video!

Only a few backwards countries insist on using the stone age system. The vast majority of countries have adopted the superior metric system.
The Yanks never lost a war until they started using metric.
