Thanks Matthew. Please see our video on the thickness gage at ua-cam.com/video/IxpHJZoNBjI/v-deo.html The thickness gage part starts at about 1:35. Let us know if you have any questions. Happy PantoRouting!
The panto graph mechanism means the distance at the guide is halved at the router so if you use the thickness of the wood at the stop then the router will be centred on the work piece. Very convenient
Thank you for your inquiry. The PantoRouter comes in two boxes the largest is 32”x22”x12”. The smaller is 16x9x9”. All together it weighs 67# Please see our website at www.pantorouter.com
you can purchase the plans from the inventor and build it in wood for much cheaper. the original pantorouter is made of wood. the inventor encourages to build it from wood if you find the metal version too expensive. it is a good project. it takes longer to get adjusted and cutting perfectly but once you do it works the same and is easier to modify. once i built one, i ended up using the first one to build another one even faster and gave it to my grandfather, and i modified it to add the linear slides like the metal version has.
@@SuperAWaC Yeah, but like Matthias says, you have to consider the amount of time it would take to build and how much that time is worth to you. I'm a very slow woodworker, even a bed for my nephew has taken me over a month to do because I have so much going on right now. That's why I've saved up my money and plan to buy a Pro Pack pantorouter in July, when my Discover card will give me a 10 percent rebate on Paypal. :D It will be by far the most expensive tool I have, with my 8 inch Powermatic jointer that I bought used not even a close second.
We so wish it cost less to manufacture! We know we could get it cheaper (though not even close to your target) if we had it made in China, but we simply refuse. We sleep well at night knowing we have excellent quality and customer service!
The PantoRouter is a precision joinery machine and those who rely on it for business consider it quite a bargain. Our hobby users adore it for its professional capabilities at an affordable price. We know it might not be for everyone, but those who own and use them find the PantoRouter extremely useful and a whole lot of fun to use! Hope you'll try one someday and let us know your thoughts. info@PantoRouter.com
The PantoRouter does great dovetails, box joints and over a 100 sizes of mortise and tenons in addition to floating tenons. These are completely different tools and many PantoRouter owners use both.
Indeed that it may be, but the pantorouter has far more versatility and "options" than a domino cutter. If you don't particularly care about all the other potential the pantorouter has, then I would just stick with the domino cutter.
dominos are for alignment and cabinet construction. This makes heavy duty joinery for chairs, table, desks etc. Also you can make exposed joinery that you might like to see in the finished product.
This is the best video so far and the explanation is perfect, but the set up should also be explained in order to set the thickness stop. Thank you .
George did a new one that should be out in June 2023
I watch so many videos that i bought one. Still setting it up
Thank you so much!
Thanks George! Great video!
George is doing another video. Watch for our newsletter to see it soon.

Most of these things panto, domino, biscuit etc are all about joinery
Yes, the PantoRouter is a joinery machine for mortise and tenon, box joints and dovetails, plus a whole bunch of other joinery and decorative details.
It's a great machine but the 1995 dollar price tag way to much

Have you seen the video with Mathias Wandel? The original inventor of the pantorouter? He initial build the pantograph in wood.
There is one big problem with a domino... Its made be festcrap... Never buy german... always over engineered to break when you least need it too.
