    Marius, I appreciate that you include the outtakes because it shows you aren't perfect the first time, but more importantly that you really care about the quality of your videos as much as you care about the quality of your woodworking.

      Wandel doing teamwork? That would be fun to watch. Especially the parts where Matthias is offered some constructive criticism. Hopefully Marius then won't end up the same way as Mathias' mice and wasps did.

      In that universe it would be curious to see Matthias running Marius through the maze system over and over however Marius, a methodical learner and planner, could well quickly turn the table. Yah, better they work alone.

    I'm consistently impressed at how relatively easy it is to cut joints on the pantorouter. I should really upgrade my table saw first. I should really upgrade my bandsaw first. Yeah, I'm probably not going to do either of those things soon.

    Hallo Marius, tolles Video und auch ein klasse Kanal. Toll was Du da so alles in der kleinen Werkstatt machst.

I'm here near Kaiserslautern and was wondering if you have any recommendations for hardwood stores. Can't seem to find much at OBI or Room. Also, do you know of any woodworking shows like we have in the States? I can't seem to find a lot of guys around here that are into woodworking so it's kind of tough to get information. Thanks,

    I just screwed mine, but that was because I made them from cheap particle board furniture, I don't think dovetails would have an effect there.

    Hey Marius. LG Franz.

    ah now I know where I got the idea for those drawer-pulls, I thought I it was my idea at the time when I made some that are quite similar (about 2 months ago) but now I'm pretty sure I stole the idea from you. sorry I hope that's ok :)
    also for cutting dovetails in multiplex plywood, handcutting works quite well in my experience, you should try that once, the fitting is easier than with sold wood (even softwood) ....
    and on last tip, when putting dovetails (made with flatsawn boards) together, make sure, the right (the right side (at least in german, I don't know if it translates) is the heart side) side of the wood is on the outside, because, when wood moves the bow goes the other way than the annual rings, so in an assembled dovetail corner, when the right side is on the outside, the middle of the board wants to bow out, which is much less likely to happen due to the geometry of dovetails than when the board is flipped and the corners want to lift. sorry its hard to descirbe.
    maybe an image helps: second image here: inspectapedia.com/decks/Wood_Board_Bark_Down.php

    has the plywood you used for runners really got a black laminate on it? usually you get plywood laminated with melamin - but those you used look like redish brown, so it is more like phenolic resin (resol, a precursor of bakelite) you'd find on coated texture boards ("siebdruckplatte") and those are not laminated, the resin is directly bonded to the plywood
    needless to say that pretty much nothing sticks on penolic resins, so they are pretty much the perfect choice for a work surface

    • @MariusHornberger
      @MariusHornberger  7 років тому +4

      ah, yes they're phenolic resin coated. Siebdruckplatte is also what they are called here.
