Sorry for That the footage was so bad That i can't put IT ... This is the trickiest part of the job you Can leave IT There if it is intact ...but in m'y case i use a Pick and a flat screw Driver ,tap slowly to form a dent to the Center IT Will eventualy came loosse but take to mot scratch the aluminium of the transmission . Good luck m'y friend
Go on Google and make a research about tranny fluid colors if ITs to dark with a burn smell ... changing the fluid can make the transmission slip so yea 100k change is very benefic AT the conditions That your fluid is on good condition
I don’t think is necessary to remove the filter bushing. It’s made out of steel/ metal . won’t wearing out .just put the new tranny filter on it .that’s it .
Mine is a disaster am at m'y 3th rebuild ... There is always something wrong with the 3-4th gear ... pressure is lost somewhere and the clutch pack start to wear faster and the 3-4th gear slip ... but the orignal in m'y corvette fail at 70k mile
@exoticspeedefy7916 Yeah the guys Who rebuild mine will rebuild it for a Last time but this time he gonna rebuild an other core he think me core is twist and this is why I always have a leak .... I give a last chance and the next tranny I will rebuild my self ... I don't trust anymore
@@basicdetail4512 At the end of the day you are better off just rebuilding it yourself. No way should you have to rebuild 3 times, if you are using quality parts. My stock 4L60E in my C5 is being put through 409rwhp and nearly 500nm or torque and it's still going. I watch this video because I will need to do a service, as I don't trust a mechanic to charge me $600 just to do the same thing you did
@exoticspeedefy7916 I'm exactly like you on that I really dont trust mecanics anymore , to give an idea this tranny on the video got only 25k miles it was from a crash c5 ... I pay a mecanic to install it and the transmission was completely empty of fluid so he put only 4 qt in it and he go ... he has burn the tranny in a minute .... when the rebuild remove the Pan ... she was completely empty 😡 the tranny need 11qt .... and then the rebuilder rebuild it twice and my poor 4l60e didn't survive longer than 7k miles .... so it ending he gonna rebuild the oem tranny with a shift kit and everything to make it bullet proof
Hi it looks like you removed the entire transmission but is that really necessary for a fluid change or can i just simply remove the pan while its intact? And are the transmissions one and the same for 97' and final year 04' ?
Hi you can juste remove the pan , i had the tranny on Hand because my original dies so i bought a use old and decide to Do a video with it and yess 04 is the same
Hidden gem of a video. Thanks!
Thanks i really appreciate
That's very good and professional
Thanks Simon :)
Can you tell me or show me what exact tool you use to get the filter bushing/seal out with. I'm currently stuck.

It’s necessary to remove it . Does it ???
You have to remove the transmission to do this or can it be done in the car?
Its can be done on the car directly
@100k..is it beneficial to change the fluid?
or
leave it be?

Yeah I agree with you thanks for watching
I always wondered why mutes who make UA-cam videos have sound turned on when they're recording...
Because they presume people will appreciate the info in the video anyway ...
Does he need to add oil?
Yess ,for sure you have to make sure the tranny is full or you gonna burn the Clutch pack
How reliable is the 4L60E? I hear they break a lot

@@basicdetail4512 They are cheap and easy to rebuild at least. On a C5 it's just annoying taking them out
