MikeE, thanks for this tremendous video. I used your video and another by Petr Janousek to prepare for the task. Everything went very smoothly, and I can confirm for others that this really isn't at all difficult. Additionally, yes, the pan gasket is reusable as is the filter gasket in the body of the transmission. The only thing I did differently was use a low-profile jack on the transmission pan to lower it after all bolts were removed, this way I avoided 90% of the mess. The real mess came from stray drips and from the hand pump I used to fill the transmission. I must have knocked over the fluid bottles (RedLine D6 ATF) 20 times before I was able to fill the approximate 5.5 quarts necessary. Having a 180 degree cone-shaped nozzle and a long hose for filling the transmission pan is a huge recommendation. I had to suspend my fluid pump hoses from various locations under the car with twist ties so I could create a gentle bend into the fill port (on the passenger's side of the transmission), and moving the hoses too much would create a mess... Thanks again for this - spectacular work.

Great video. Thanks for talking about the fill hole on the side. I was wondering how you pumped the fluid in. I have done this on explorers with the sealed 5 speed autos and pumped it in through an adapter that fits in the drain hole. The plug on the side makes it easier.
excuse my ignorance ... .@7:51 when you were removing the nuts from the cross member .... i noticed that the holes are bigger than the bolts going in ... does this mean that you need to re-align all the wheels when you re-bolt it all together?
Measure the amount which you drained out. Then fill the car with about a pint more than you removed. Let the car warm up then pull out the plug with the car running. Less than a pint will come out. The car will shift better than you remembered it to.
