This album was MONUMENTAL. It was too far ahead of its time to be appreciated. The old school metal people shat all over it. To hell with those guys. This was amazing. Catchy as hell beats, awesome electronic sounds, heavy ass guitar and bass, heartfelt and intelligent lyrics. Legacy.
25 yrs later my son is stripping the paint off his bedroom wall playing this song.Power music never dies. ....it just cleans out the generational cobwebs.
Prong's best album. PERIOD. It was WAY, WAY ahead of its time. The general mindless public is never prepared for innovative pioneering. Generic metalhead simpletons put this album down, but it was more original and creative than what anyone else was doing at the time.. and the lyrics actually have real life meaning instead of just being typical murder fantasy BS. I respect this band.
Oh it was everyday life being an outcast in '96...prong captured that angst and anxiety of that lifestyle hands down in that era...miss those tragic dayz!
@@TheAnalPunisher I am familiar with, and a fan of all those bands, and this was just so good. It was innovative FOR THEM. The sounds they used were just really unique and creative to me
fucking hell what a tunes! what memories we where young nothing couldt stop us all day getin high playing in bands and doing graffiti those where the days , bless the 90s y0
The thing that always blows me away about Prong is that there is A LOT of subtleties buried down in the “90’s guitar fuzz”. You have to have decent cans or speakers to hear it (and maybe twiddle EQ settings a bit), But it keeps their recordings interesting and a step ahead of their contemporaries. It’s details that showed they cared and had a higher degree of musicianship and appreciation than others.
That's it right there. My Dad was a sound engineer and with that we always had good audio equipment growing up, and this album sounded amazing with the EQ properly set. I remember him saying that "an album that sounds like that didn't get that way by accident"
I got to see them at Bogarts in Cincinnati with Flotsam and Jetsam and Mind Over Four. It was during their Beg To Differ tour. Best moshpit ever! 🤘Oh and I got to get autographs from them and Flotsam after I realized we were parked behind the club and they were passing nurf football out back after the show.
I remeber my stepbrother buying this cd and leaving it for me at my house. Havent heard this song since maybe 1997. I always thought they were Russian until today because of the artwork on the album sleeve
Another rude awakening. The hard life that's been our school. More of a cruel day's reckonings. Our prime time used up too soon. There is no kindness to waste Why help those crying for more? It spins you around, takes you for a ride. What is the point to even try? Somehow got to learn to accept the rejection. The tired thoughts from troubling. A weary mind from worrying. Your constant fears upon wakening. Your real life left in your dreams
We all know prong is underatted.. dude when this album came out I bought it on tape at peaches...fort Lauderhill not expecting the brilliance...I can never capture that 1996 moment ever again
Prong > Helmet Tommy Victor > Page Hamilton Any discussion ends at that fact. STFU and keep looking for a millennial with 1/100th the talent and 100000% the anger. Prong unites everyone.
Love Prong.. Riff master.. Great sound.. Love the singing too, Unique voice.. Great songs... Remember being pumped buying this album.. Already had Cleansing.
Double edged sword. The popular Metallica bands now suck but the less popular bands like Prong and Exodus stay hungry and deliver the goods. That's why I actually buy physical new copies of their music in my meager way of support since they never come to my town.
As a Prong fan, I can admit that a lot of their songs sound too similar to each other. Thats why they aren't that popular. Like AC/DC, every song has similar sound and are simplistic. I love Prong though.
This song is so fucking epic. How on earth does it get even a thought of a dislike??? I always love the alternative droning guitar chords in the back ground. Well before Linken Park and Food Fighters ( and even Kings of Leon) used it to define their sound. In fact, they should give credit to this band because in part, they borrowed their guitar sound. I especially love that their lyrics are thoughtful and provoking. Not like the death and gloom idiot lyrics of Metallica and most of the other hard bands of that era.
+TheMonkeyMedicine Yep love 99% of their music, I have seen them live in the town where I live. One night I wont forget. Was standing next to some punkers in the front of the stage had to run for my life :)
Indeed. There is a lot to listen to production wise as well. I do know the late Wayne Static openly cited Prong as an influence and it is obvious in Static X earlier work.
I had the extended CD as a kid with interactive CD ROM, seemed so cool at the time! I think it had a few music videos and some photos and stuff on it in a funky UI, wish I could see it again but I imagine it looks crude af now haha. Still effing love this album!
At 58 I'm still loving this s*** out of this band and when I watched this video for some reason Tommy reminds me an awful lot of Keith Caputo before he became Mina am I the only one that sees that Either way both prong and Life of agony are still up in my top ten. 🤯🤯😷🤓

Again: Underrated track, underrated album, a criminally underrated band.
+d3frost Yes definitely
maybe their best album and very inspiring for later bands
Daniel Curran saw them open for clutch. Epic show!

It wasn't all that innovative. Bands like Ministry, Killing Joke, White Zombie, etc were doing it for years.

I love this song and Face Value. idk the album is sort of an homogenic blur soundwise. Did they do more commercial songs like this?
I strongly feel this band is criminally underrated.
Yeah definitely
The only song most know,is Snap your fingers, snap your Neck...i personally have enjoyed all their albums

This is a cool song.
But I'll never have anything bad to say about Metallica, the best band of all time!
lyrically, they pale in comparison to, say, Cannibal Corpse. Striped, Raped, Strangled...bitch!!
Metallica are establishment posers who party with the Pelosis. Because they are all so oppressed by "the system". I'm not even kidding.
ahhhh....... this song brings me back to the good ol' days.......
There's no kindness to waist! Yeah these guys are legit. I was forced, bound and compelled to rock this song out....😎
All these great comments and respect. Head scratcher why they didn't sell more records.
