Ford gave me a 2020 Limited for 2 weeks while they fixed a issue with my Escape. Safe to say after those 2 weeks the wife and I have decided we will be getting one by years end. Absolutely amazing vehicle!
Joe, you're pumping out videos like crazy! Keep up the good work, when i'm in a market for a new car this is the channel i'd go to because you'll basically covered every car imaginable, for the cars i can't afford, i'll watch Doug Demuro

@@Involvement82 as I burn rubber in my Mustang GT 0-60in no time. The car hits all the marks from this car guy. 430hp stock for $30k. Absolutely insane, almost irresponsible. Also that 3rd row is for children mostly The explorer is only a MIDSIZED SUV. If you want a real 3rd row get an Expedition which is the FULL SIZE SUV Its pretty simple.
I have viewed several of your videos and find them both helpful and entertaining. None of the other reviewers disclose how many sweet treats can fit in the various nooks and crannies of the car. And let's be honest, that is the most important feature. As to the topic at hand, I purchased a 2021 Explorer Hybrid. At first, I was very pleased. The vehicle itself is great and I was liking the full V6 power. But after 3 to 4 days of driving, I discovered some pretty significant issues with rough transitions from a full stop (at a stop sign or traffic light) to acceleration. Some times it felt like the car lurched forward until it caught the gear. I couldn't tell whether it was the transition from electric to gas motor, the transmission not finding the right gear, or some combination. I suspect perhaps some of both. But after a few days of this in what was a brand new car, I threw in the towel and returned to the dealer and traded it back for an Explorer Limited with the standard 4-cylinder base engine. Needless to say, I gave up some money in the deal and learned an expensive lesson. I am not saying the Hybrid version doesn't have potential, but my advice is to very carefully test drive this car and make sure the transitions on acceleration from a dead stop are smooth enough for you and that you are also accustomed to the regenerative braking which feels very different than normal brakes. For some, it may work just fine. It didn't for me whatsoever and going back to the non-Hybrid Limited Explorer was a great relief for me. Perhaps slightly less robust acceleration from the line, but a far smoother riding experience overall and perfectly adequate pick-up in my view. Anyhow, good luck to all in your car search and thanks again to Raiti's for the great reviews. If I were to do this again, I would try and arrange an overnight test drive to fully put this new technology through its paces and assure its right for you.
Hi, i have realy a big question, how and what is break in engin on v6 3.0 phev??? Just ordered the one of the last pieces goin in europe but this is realy a question, i think just skip the electro drive keep the engineruning or is there sumfin to keep on mind with the electric part? First hybrid in family so... thank you for answer
Great video, yes price is high most dealers have rebates and great financing options, remember Hyundai and Kia don't offer you that on there large SUV's is the other way around ( they raise the price). Plus they only offer you one engine option.
Side note - I rented a car in Orlando once and honked the horn more times in 5 days than I have in ten years of driving in Denver. The "Florida driver" joke is no joke.
I KNEW that red car was gonna try to cut you off!! LOL As far as the car goes...I never thought about the Explorer, I like the 4 captain style chairs. It doesn’t feel or look so much like a Wally Wagon.
@floyd watt i hope you dont want to go up and steep hills or drive at altitude. 291HP pushing 5,000lbs plus a family plus luggage is going to be slow and if you take a family trip in the mountains, that engine will be revving so high, bye bye gas mileage. I wouldn't sacrifice power for luxury.

I like your honest critique of this 2020 Explorer Hybrid. $55K is way too much for an Explorer in my opinion. I can get a luxury SUV (ie: Volvo XC90) for about the same price. No moon-roof and small screen are deal breakers for me, not to mention that ugly 2" inch plastic trim all around the fenders and doors. Thanks for the review.
We got a new 2020 Explorer Limited in at my work and I was really excited to test it out versus the last gen one. I was a bit disappointed honestly with the base engine being a 4-cylinder, the panel gaps, and B&O sound system was horrendous. Seats were comfortable though. Also for over $50K why are the rear turn signals and reverse lights not LED but on the Ford Edge they are??? At that price, spend a bit more and just get an Aviator.
Regarding the exterior, Ford nailed it, the front looks great but the the tail-lights are in need of a serious redesign & I think that would give it a more modern image ... As far as the interior, I'm with ya totally, the wow factor is lacking.
Great review as always! Thanks! I commented on the Fiesta ST video you did and how you lost the car in the USA but we still have here in the UK. Unfortunately gutted here as, we don't get that wonderful Ford Explorer here in the UK☹️We get the Kuga (you call it Escape) but we lose out on the powerful engines. That engine wow, sounds great!! Jordan Parchment Ford is afraid of exhaust fumes getting inside the cabin. They still have not figured out why it was happening on the last generation. My view is someone screwed up on the welding and how exhaust gases buildup under the hood and enter through the air vents.
2017escapo that happens on all cars regardless. You remember the police officer who passed out because of carbon monoxide leaking into the cabin? How can Ford justify selling this for $55k when you can get a Telluride or Ascent with every available feature (including 3rd row USB), much better build/materials quality, and $10k in your pocket?
