I pick my 2021 limited up on Saturday. Super excited. Do you enjoy it? I was always a Dodge girl and had a Durango (with the Hemi) BUT it’s expensive on gas and more power than what I need. I found the Explorer comparable which is why I bought it.

Thanks! I had upgraded audio earlier this year from a suggestion someone had about a lapel mic. Love how much the community helps and gives suggestions for people to get better.
Should be in a 2022 early next year and the audio quality will be much better
Great video, you missed the park assists thought :-) You also seem to have a small shoulder twitch, maybe you should try to frame the camera more towards the front/dash to cut out your shoulder. Really enjoyed the video otherwise.

This is a great review. We recently purchased a 2020 Explorer Limited and learning about all the technology. We can’t figure out how to turn off the auto locks while driving. Can you provide any insight?

The Auto Lock is one that can't be disabled unless you do an ECU tune... but you can disable the Auto Unlock through the instrument cluster menu

What is standard across all the limited and different or an upgrade with the 4wd, Platinum, XLT
can u add the moon roof after market
Limited and XLT have the 2.3L EcoBoost engine while the Platinum and ST have the 3.0L EcoBoost.. From there the Limited and above all have heated/cooled front seats.
After market moonroof would be pretty expensive to add in. Wouldn't really be worth it to do after market

Thank you Steve for the helpful overview! We just purchased a 2020 Ford Explorer Limited AWD and there is something on the dashboard information display that we can't figure out. To the right of the tire pressure is an arrow up and and an arrow down with 5 lines between them - what is that for? thank you!
You're welcome Lisa, glad it helped! That's an indicator that lets you know how many sub pages are available for the cluster home screen. If you press the up/down key on the right pad of the steering wheel you'll see it jump between different screens that were chose in the cluster menu

I am looking for 2021 Limited trim but I am wondering 2021 Limited has paddle shift on the streering with M button on the dial gear.
The Limited would have the paddle shifters. As long as they haven't changed the dial gear shift for 2021 it will be there!

All the features are nice but eventually they can require repair which means repeated visits to the dealer. Is it possible to purchase a new Explorer in a base model configuration? I can't seem to get a reply from my local Ford dealer.
Repairs are a part of ownership but luckily these are pretty easy to work on if you're handy. The base Explorer would be available for purchase from any dealer... the issue is going to be availability.
If you're looking for a base vehicle with no additional options you're most likely going to have to do a factory order

This was one of the first videos I shot when I started this channel! I had no idea about audio editing, mic positioning or even how to shoot a video properly. Trial by error but luckily people have been forgiving because the content is great! I've been investing into better equipment and teaching myself audio engineering so that the quality is better going forward :)
