- Working in Morgantown, WV this week and my rental is the 2021 Ford Explorer Limited. This thing is a far cry from the originals. So in this video I go over some of my favorite features, improvements and some things I still think need improving.

I'm a big dude looking for an upgrade from my Rav4. I really appreciate your reviews because of how thorough you are and go over all the fine details I look for. This is convincing me to look at a Limited Explorer instead of the Platinum trim since there aren't many noticeable differences. If I get a Limited I'd also just swap out the analog instrument panel for an all-digital one like you see in the higher trims. Greetings and appreciation from Tennessee!

@@TheHungryRoad I owned a 2016 Taurus SHO and really liked the car. However the build quality and weak Ecoboost turbo began to leak (meticulously maintained the car). I am no Ford hater.

I just sold my 2014 Taurus Sho, I had no major issues with it. I agree with your opinion on the new Explorer. I have a 2022 Explorer ST on order.

Being a Chevy guy, I gotta say Ford has really come a long way with the Explorer.
I can 100% agree! These new Explorers are done really well.
The model you reviewed is a 6 passenger version. Only two seats in the rear. The seven passenger versions have a second row bench instead of captain chairs.

I just bought one of these and LOVE IT!! What is the button with the P>> on it? Does it parallel park for you?
That would be your parking brake. You ever feel your car roll forward or backward when parking on hill after you take your foot off the brake? The parking brake prevents that from happening so your car won’t roll at all. It’s taken the place of “the emergency brake” that used to be in cars.
Absolutely, parks perfect. But practice this first with a lookout!

We just bought a used one and I wish you would have said something about the hard ride. You feel EVERYTHING on the damned road!
Take it out of Sport mode! Lol. It didn’t feel too harsh when I reviewed this one.
@@TheHungryRoad Doesn't really matter which mode it is in, it's a hard ride no matter what, but that's entirely my fault.
I thought the one I rented drove really well. That wasn’t my experience at all. Which trim do you have?
2020-2023 Explorers currently have a major recall where driveshaft will suddenly disconnect while driving. Good luck if you have one

nice efforts and video dear... one thing I observed that you have limited version but no panoramic roof?? its little weird for limited trim...
Sure, but I didn’t spec this car, the rental car company did and the paperwork said it was the Limited trim so that’s all I had to go off of.
fun fact, not all Limited's come with memory package. I managed to buyone without it - i thought it was standard option!
😱😱😱 Well that stinks a little bit! Hopefully you don’t have a lot of different drivers constantly switching the seat settings.
It was probably removed do to supply chain/chip shortages. There are several options they removed for this reason (there should also have been a rebate for their removal)
Certainly looks good. However, skepitcal of modern Fords build quality and reliability. Long term I would like to hear reviews.
I have the 2016 does explorer XLT I never had any problem and still running like the first day

What type of gas can we use and is it bad to mix gasoline types?
I always recommend using premium gasoline. In many states that 91 octane and in some states it’s 93 octane. Using lower octane fuel won’t necessarily hurt anything, but those fuels won’t burn as clean and your mpg could suffer a little bit. Mixing octanes won’t hurt either, but it’s better to be consistent with whatever you do decide to put in the tank.

Did you know if you push door unlock 2 times then press it and hold it, your windows roll down
Ah. Is that how you do it? All these cars are different. Some cars you can just hold the unlock button down and the windows will come down. Then you can hold the lock button down then they’ll go back up!
Mine dont go up only down....my guess , a saftey reason
