Still a bit disappointed that the reverse lights and turn signals in the rear are incandescent. I hope they’ll change it soon! Clicked on the video as soon as I saw it!
benjaminpizza vargas but it’s still something you expect. A lot of the SUVs in the segment have LED reverse lights and turn signals. It’s just a feature you expect from a 2020 vehicle for the price you’re paying.
I've recently owned a Ford and a Toyota, well, a Lexus. My Ford Escape was basically dead after 100k miles of gentle driving (and perfect routine maintenance) and I had to get rid of it. My Lexus literally feels brand new at 40k. You would be out of your mind to choose a Ford over a Toyota for any similar vehicle.
Thanks for the review guys. I'm not really impressed with the Explorer, I think FORD was way too conservative on the redesign and the interior leaves much to be desired. Lastly, the hybrid fuel economy numbers at that price point isn't impressive.
With 21 cu. Ft. Of storage behind the 3rd row seat, I feel like the Kia Telluride is the better option as far as cargo AND passengers are concerned. This obviously beats it on gas mileage. Could you possibly do a comparison review on the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica and the 2012 Toyota Sienna? Also what are your thoughts on the upcoming 2021 Kia Sedona? Stay safe guys. Thanks for yet another quality review.
Rusty T the RX is a 2 row but the RX L is three row. But just against the RX450hL I’d take the explorer hybrid because the third row in the RX is useless beyond any comprehension. But against other SUVs the Highlander will absolutely destroy this in value fuel economy and reliability
I much prefer the smaller infotainment over the 10.1 in iPad like display. That display just looked tacked on and doesn’t go with the rest of the interior.
These vehicles are getting awfully expensive… I've owned 3 Explorers in my life and purchased many for my company over the years. I have always liked the size of them but 50+k and going higher...? Wow!
The interior styling is kind of strange to me. The air vents look like they are out of a work pickup truck! Kind of a weird observation to some, but I’ve noticed after watching a lot of videos of car reviews the styling and design of the air vents can actually make a huge difference in the overall design (Mercedes air vents are very notable). Also the center stack looks cheap and the buttons a look like they are out of the leftover parts from the discounted Ford Fiesta. The outside looks nice but the interior looks like a 35k SUV at best. I’d pick the Highlander over this any day. In my opinion the interior is worlds away and the outside is nice too. Toyota has a 10 yr warranty on the hybrid power train and an 8 yr warranty on the battery, not to mention resale. Can’t see a lot of reasons to buy this over the Toyota. Thoughts?
This Explorer hybrid is full of negatives... 1- overpriced 2- doesn’t deliver any fuel advantage over the 2.3T 3-doesn’t deliver any better performance than the 2.3T Ford if you are listening - we want a hybrid that will be fuel efficient, not this...
No contest with the Highlander Hybrid... Highlander Hybrid gets 35 mpg combined and is much more premium on the inside. These are pretty plastic fantastic, which is surprising for the price point. Where is does have the Highlander beat is the AWD system. Mechanical AWD vs. e-Awd is a big difference in slippery conditions, although I think they've made the rear end in the Highlander more robust this generation.
This really how lost Ford is. The vehicle is, in a nutshell, awful. The amazing amount of cost cutting is completely unacceptable at the outrageous price point.
Nice SUV but the quality is already showing... Yes, somewhat nit - picky and all but the wooden trim is already coming apart by the ignition switch...Either that or something isn't properly assembled right? I would just hate to see that after spending thousands on it.
The best way to show the Ford's inferiority is to compare it to the less expensive Highlander hybrid. By itself, the Ford is OK (a small step above mediocre). A side by side with the Highlander would be terrible for the Ford.
Just because a vehicle sales the most units doesn't make it the better vehicle. A polished turd like the Ford Explorer can sale many unit by appealing to Ford/'Merican loyalists and ton of cash on the hood.
Highlander is far better than this. Better quality more efficient and smoother hybrid, and more tech in the top trims (minus the power steering column). Plus the explorer is too expensive at 52K
Three years ago today! I must try to buy one.
25 mpg combined & $57k price tag is enough to keep buying distancing Nice review, though
@Garrett Rayan Hoax
I love the new explorer!!!
I could never pay this much for a fancy cop car. Good review guys! :D
Great video guys.

they can be changed by LED by the customer...

some recently refreshed toyotas now have fully led interior and exterior lights, but not highlander unfortunately

My Lexus hybrid still feels brand new at 102K+ miles.
Thanks for the review guys. I'm not really impressed with the Explorer, I think FORD was way too conservative on the redesign and the interior leaves much to be desired. Lastly, the hybrid fuel economy numbers at that price point isn't impressive.
Thanks for tuning in! 👍
Good job guys 👍
Great Video. I don't think it's ready to drive yet. (From Instagram Story)
@Daniel Hernandez I don't think it's ready yet after that
😂😂😂

Thanks! Hopefully once those products come out we'll be able to orchestrate a comparison!
Well most people seem to disagree as the Explorer has been the best selling Midsize SUV for the past 30 years.
You guys should do the 2020 Escape Hybrid next :)
Yeah, we are looking for one to test out!
So when I rest my knee against console I’ll be resting it on hard plastic not soft touch :(
First world complaints 😭😭😭
Anyone else misses when he would open up the door, then step into the second row?
Best suv in the marketing purposes! i'd say the highlander is better!
Great review guys! I think this is way overpriced!😸😸
The Ford Explorer Needs To Be Sold As A Plug In Hybrid In North America Asia South America New Zealand And Australia 🇦🇺
$57k Does it come with ventilators?
Why in the world did they keep the analog tachometer? The engine isnt going to be running half of the time. It may freak some people out.
Hmmm not this engine, it rarely runs in EV mode
HIIIIII... LOVE FORD VEHICLES!!!!!!!!!!
Verry verry perfect suv car
At 57K, Isn't that Lexus RX450h territory?.
Rusty T the RX is a 2 row but the RX L is three row. But just against the RX450hL I’d take the explorer hybrid because the third row in the RX is useless beyond any comprehension.

How many kinds of hybrid in Ford Explorer 2020 ?

I think those bulbs are incandescent halogen tends to be a term more reserved for headlights
The 2020 Ford Explorer hybrid it’s alright!!

Does Mason ever get a shot at driving?
I think I remember them saying that the dealership's insurance wont allow test drives until you're 21.
^^what he said^^
Highlander will last longer reliability wise. Have seen reviews on the ford which they state is poorly made. Great review!
Thanks!
Reliability cannot be measured as they both were introduced for 2020.

This one hit hard. Assault with a battery. 😁
It's a nice looking car but I really don't think it's worth that price tag
I made a big mistake buying a 2015 Explorer Sport brand new. Nothing but problems and the dealer was an ass.
Please do a traverse high country
Buffy the mic cover got a charge out of this hybrid. 😎
😂😂
I can see the panel gaps from here! They really scuffed the new explorer..... not Impressed sorry Ford!
Holy key fob!!
Omg these guys are so cute. I want to snuggle up with them and talk about cars.
Someone just pooped my pants!
This really how lost Ford is. The vehicle is, in a nutshell, awful. The amazing amount of cost cutting is completely unacceptable at the outrageous price point.
it's expensive indeed .. I'd go Telluride or Palisade
But is it reliable.
Can’t believe that is a limited trim Ford explore the interior looks bland there’s other rivals like Kia Hyundai Toyota Honda and it’s overpriced too
Ignorant comment
Highlander is better than this...its looks like someone bought the screen from market stick it btw Ac went hahaha
Highlander has a small 3rd row only gullible people would buy a 3 row suv with a small interior.
The bond bold king of the road
Nice SUV but the quality is already showing... Yes, somewhat nit - picky and all but the wooden trim is already coming apart by the ignition switch...Either that or something isn't properly assembled right? I would just hate to see that after spending thousands on it.
Highlander looks ugly!
Very ugly.
looks miles better than the explorer
Bomba

Sales figures don't seem reflect your claims and opinions.
