    Thank you for making this helpfulvideo. I’ve used comfrey internally for years with some miraculous results, an absolutely wonderful herb for me to drink as tea, add to my cooking and use on my body. What I understand from the research I’ve found, you would have to ingest an ‘extraordinary’ amount for any possible negative effects and when you look even deeper into it, be aware of who is doing the research and who benefits from the research. Many people are willing to take over the counter and prescription drugs without questioning yet are scared to try something growing in its natural state because of false information … this is my opinion only of course 😊

      You're welcome.
      I will re-look at the amount of ingested Comfrey that would be harmful.

      I am very new to the medicinal herb world but the people I have spoken regarding Comfrey to seem to be of the same opinion. Yes there is some toxicity there and if you went extremely overboard there might be a negative effect. Everything in moderation

    The only real danger of using comfrey is if used on a puncture wound or a deep wound is that comfrey heals it too fast and IF there is infection down deep it will close up the wound and infection will be trapped. I used comfrey after I dropped a heavy wood cutting board on my big toe. It started turning black right away so I heated water and added comfrey leaf let it steep then applied for 30 minutes, continued doing that for 3 days and the bruising disappeared, swelling went down, felt tons better and I never lost my toe nail.
    Big Pharma tried to eradicate comfrey many decades ago but the roots go 10 foot deep so it is nearly impossible to kill off, which means choose where you plant it carefully. What they don't tell you, when warning of the dangers of comfrey is that even Tylenol, if taken against directions, will cause liver damage and if overdosed can cause death. If one uses common sense it is very safe and can heal. The fact that they tried to eradicate it tells me that Comfrey is God's gift for healing but like with any medicine it must be used correctly.

    I grow a ton of peppermint in my garden (planted a single plant 5 years ago and now its literally everywhere all the time) and use this same method but also throw in a handful of peppermint leaves. Adds a cooling effect to it and it smells great.

    I've noticed that some of the plants that are the most beneficial seem to have some natural built controls. If nettle leaf didn't have the sting they do they would've been devoured long long ago by beasts of the field because of it's incredible nutritional benefits. I believe the same is with comfrey. It can be used as a salve, for sure. By the way thank you for your video. I'm going to start using the salves like you instructed. But, I feel the same with comfrey. They are so nutritious and healing but if everyone knew that we wouldn't have it's benefits or this video. So, let them say what they will, it's actually protecting the plant so we can have it and those in the future. I used to drink a cup of comfrey tea everyday for about two years. If you take proper amounts it will do wonders for your insides.

    Dehydration is far easier for thin leaves by simply leaving them about somewhere on a tray and on a cloth maybe. If you really want to you can hang a bunch up for a couple of days. No need for other equipment.

      Yes, it’s medicinal properties with oil and bee wax make it a miracle for skin. Just, try to wash your feet with baking soda and lemon, then pass the pómex and rinse. After that dry very well and apply the comfrey salve. It is good for varicose veins too. Of course, you have to use the ribounder properly, or do exercises for legs in order for the varicose veins to be in good shape again.

      Sorry for the difficulty that you have. If the hip problem is due to osteoarthritis try taking glucosamine and chondroitin with MSM 500 mg, 8 per day, 4 in the morning and 4 in the evening. It works better if taken with vit. C as well.
      I had a really very bad back pain which was diagnosed to be osteoarthritis. I couldn't do anything. The best position was only lying down. The doctor recommend to get cortisone injection which I had to repeat every six weeks. Because I'm a nutritionist I thought I had to feed my body what it needs not those injections...and started taking those supplements. Gradually I felt better and I was able to have some activities including light gardening. Hope this could help you get better. Sure it is better to try alternatives first.

    I would love to make this salve, I am new to herbal medicine this year as I'm only 17 and I haven't got any comfrey plants as I am trying to find a good spot for a couple so I will have to purchase dried comfrey. Will it matter if the leaves are in tiny pieces instead of large pieces because that is how they are sold near me? and would halving the recipe be ok? thank you (sorry if these are silly q's)

      Using the small dried leaf pieces is perfectly fine as well as dividing the recipe in half. Glad you are getting into herbal remedies.

    Does the salve help osteoporosis?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  2 роки тому +2

      It helps to relieve some pain and symptoms but does not help with the disease. You will need to build back up your bones with calcium from leafy greens and eliminate dairy from your diet because that is shown to leach calcium from your bones.

    I have tons of comfrey leaves I just cut them to make a salve but I didnt know I was supposed to dry the leaves first. If I manage to find a way to dry them how long do they need to be in there before I can make the salve ?

    • @CountryLivingExperience
      @CountryLivingExperience  3 роки тому

      We use a dehydrator or just leave them hanging for a week or so inside. Then put them in the oil.

      @@CountryLivingExperience oh dear too late! I chopped up the leaves and they're in the Mason jar on the stove now. I added calendula, arnica, and yarrow to grapeseed oil with the comfrey - I did save a bunch of the comfrey leaves that I can hang to dry. I will make another batch after getting more oil.

      If you chop / cut up the comfrey leaves you can dehydrate them in the sun on a screen or a mesh bag and lie in in a flat shallow cardboard box The sun sort of “ blesses” them before you use it. Sun is quicker that dehydrator and all natural - no equipment or or electricity needed. Also in short: it’s one part beeswax to 4 parts oil.

    You didn't measure out the oil after it had infused. You will never have the same amount since the dry leaves will soak up quite a bit. Always 1oz of beeswax for each cup of oil. If it's not the correct ratio it could be too hard.
