- October 2023 SAT scores just came out!!! And uh... you'll see them in the video. Thanks again to Mr. C, Mr. M, and Mr. R for joining me in reacting to our SAT scores. The paper SAT will still be available for the months of November and December, which some of us are planning to take, so stay tuned for those possible score reactions.

My first SAT score was 1180. As an Asian, my parents pushed me harder to a 1280. Later on, after analyzing my test and forming strategies, I ended off with a 1410 thanks to my parents

I prepared for 2 months with full dedication before my first attempt in august and was hoping for atleast 1450, but I was crushed after getting only 1370. However, for the October SAT I just reviewed the topics I lacked in and only prepared for them and got 1540. My advice for others is to make strategies and recognise the topics you are weak and prepare extra hard for them and the ones they are familiar with, they can spend less time on them. Took the SAT in 7th grade and got a 1130. Now, as an eighth grader, my score has improved to 1510. I started studying full time on the SAT and dropped school tests because 8th grade test scores don’t count toward GPA.

I was able to score a 1570 on the October SAT (it was my first SAT) my study method was very effective and it was free. I just took many, many practice tests and past exams.

other than the bluebook and the collegeboard website's papers (which are usually 70% from bluebook qs), where else can I do practice tests? im doing the dsat next year.

@@Mr.AP5 khan academy wasn't really that good; bluebook imo was the best but since I've already done it im not sure what to do as practice for next year. I also did barrons.

I haven’t taken an SAT yet, but looking at previous PSAT scores they aren’t looking that amazing lol. How do you think people could prepare for it? I’m trying to get into a good school, because I have a 4.6, but an awful test taker 😭
You just need to keep doing practice tests and use a resource like khan academy, if you’re willing to pay then you can find a good tutor too
I feel like all you need is khan academy. I got somewhere around 1000 on the psat and I took 5 hours to do 1 practice reading section test when its supposed to take 1 hour (and still got half of them wrong 🥲) but after a few months I got 1500

Hey man! Ask the people in the office, the librarian, or counselors to see if your school/district has any other tedt prep resources. If I hadn't asked my school librarian I wouldn't have known or know how to gain access to a free SAT, ACT, AP Test prep resource thing (forgot what its called might update ltr)!
ALSO I found out there a day where my district will PAY for a PSAT OR practice ACT or PreACT. Wound up doing the pre act after asking one of my teachers for a suggestion.
ASK AROUND YALL, ITS BTR TO EMBARRASS YOURSELF CAUSE YOU HAVE BAD SOCIAL SKILLS THAN MISS OPPORTUNITIES LIKE THESE!!!!!

In Brazil the equivalent test is applied once every year so if you get nervous, miss it or simply don't do well you're in for another whole year of studying. It's fucking cruel...

I got a prettyyy garbage score sophmore year but im going into junior year and I want to prepare for it, what do you recommend to prepare for the SAT, also can you take it senior year as well ?
Yes you can take it senior year, just make sure to do so before college apps. I recommend using KhanAcademy and Bluebook practice tests
I got a 1430 after studying for a long time (Around 6 months), every one of your score was pretty good, congrats!

@@vuIent hi, I used Barron’s Test books and SATSuite practice questions. Also practice tests in Bluebook were really helpful too.

I would be so happy if I got a 1400 this December. My first practice sat in september was an 1190 and my most recent was a 1410. I would be ecstatic if I got anywhere between a 1350-1450. (I’m terrible at math so that’s always the section that pulls down my score.) I have to work a lot harder bc im not naturally smart like you people. Cant afford tutors or anything.

Yooo, one of my friends who’s a junior got a 1590 this sat on I think his first try. He like top 5 smartest juniors in my school.
That's actually crazy. I know a guy who has 1590 as his current highest as a Junior
First SAT I got 1420 but my parents pushed me to do more because I got less than 700 on math. A few months of studying math on Khan Academy earned me a 1550 on the next try! Glad my parents pushed me on on that one!

Khan Academy is a great resource, as well as past SATs that you can review by actually doing them and familiarize yourself with the question types.

Uhh I took the digital PSAT and got 1480. English section is much easier compared to reading, since the actual reading part is less intense. Math is pretty straightforward since you got Desmos Graphing Calculator at hand l

How does everyone do so good on the SAT??? The highest I've ever gotten was a 1280
I would say I got such a high score luck wise. The English section was luckily not that hard on the October SAT, and Math is just always too easy for me for whatever reason. Just make sure you pace yourself, as that is the best strategy that got me through it

Can you get past questions from that particular SAT like there were 2 questions in math I did not get
1= we were asked for n and k as it related to a cylinder

Nah it just feels like that, try giving a sat paper and check if you’ll get at least 1500, the easier it is, easier to mess up. And sat especially requires more iq compared to jee as interpretation of question matters more than actually knowing the concept.

I also took the SAT test from the internet and I found it awfully easy. I'm in 9th grade now and yes I am an indian, I scored a whopping 1560 in the test I lost 40 marks due to time but in india these questions are taught to 5th graders that is the reason why indians are way more devloped in maths than others

What grade do people take the sat
It varies. Usually, junior year is a good time to knock it out
I took it this year as a senior, but it was painful to balance college applications, studying for sat, extracurriculars, etc. so getting it out of the way in junior year would be the smartest decision. If you aren't satisfied with your score junior year, I'd say take another one in senior year, you don't even have to study if you feel like you already studied enough. In fact, I'd say not studying could actually be beneficial, since after studying for 3 months my score dropped from 1450 to 1340, but after taking a break for 2 months I somehow got 1500. I'm guessing I was just burnt out from studying, and my score shot up after taking a much needed break
