@@KOFB_CREEPER it really is a free to try/start, not free to play, but because there is no "free to start" games on the market calling it like that would put them in a marketing disadvantage

I hate that they removed so much content from the game. I started playing at the very end of Witch Queen, so I can never experience those free expansions. The way seasons work is also annoying. Every past expansion is an incomplete product for new players because they already missed out on a substantial amount of content. Meanwhile in World of Warcraft you can play through every past expansion and they're free.
They need to make every expansion over 2 years old F2P honestly no need to charge for shit that’s barely relevant gameplay wise but important to the story like it will help populate all the older dead playlists they had like the strike style BL boss fights
I would add doing that first WQ campaign mission is vital, as it unlocks the Enclave for crafting and I think Red Borders don't even drop until you do that mission.
I've been playing a few weeks now, bought LF on sale to get strand and I've had a few red border seasonal weapons drop. I dont have witch queen and I haven't played the campaign intro mission for it
Just a heads up, getting the extra loadouts is no longer a free to play option, as the challenge for it was moved further up the ranks, and to get beyond rank 7 requires access to the Lightfall campaign.
I remember when I started playing d2 and bought season pass on my third day of gameplay. I was shocked how many things were locked behind it when I introduced my friend to the game 😂. I made him lose ten dollars and then he played for like a week 💀
I wonder if shadow keep should be made free and turned into the new light experience, it’s what 4 years old now. You start out on the cosmodrome make it to the tower then X NPC tells you there’s a disturbance on the moon go meet Eris, once you meet Eris the campaign starts and there could be new dialogue added to help explain the pyramid ships and the light vs dark conflict. Having a campaign would be good for new people it gives them a story to latch onto and follow to show/explain destiny’s light vs dark sage cause currently it can be very confusing story wise for new people.
Now that I see it all in one video I realize that is more than I expected, it's a lot of different type of content that can help you understand if you like the game and if you are willing to buy the dlc to access even more content. I know that from the perspective of a "veteran" this could seem a quite small content pool, but think with the mind of a new player that has never played d2, you have so much different content that you could get lost not knowing what to do
after watching this video thats exactly what i was thinking. but is it all replayble free of cost? cause i dont mind that. i dont mind i have to replay the same thing over and over again if eventually the loot become way better.
@@OhSolinuM yeah, everything can be played over and over to grind weapons with better perks and armour with higher stats. I bought every dlc and i still almost only play PVP and for that you don't have to buy any dlc. You also have 2 great raids that you can play over and over with your friends and if that doesn't sound so good seeing the total number of raids available just think that some of us played destiny 1 for years with only a total of 4 raids available (and i think that those 2 that have been remastered in destiny 2 are the best one, the is another one that players really like but for me those 2 are the best) Still, if you ever feels like you are getting bored in free destiny 2 the are some old dlcs that are now around 10/15€ and they both add a new raid, a new dungeon, a new planet and new activities on those planets
PSA: Legend lost sectors are unlocked per character, not per account. So if you have multiple characters you'll need to complete all of the lost sectors on every different character you have in order to see the legend versions.
This was a great guide! As someone who is very new to the game (well, technically relatively new, since I've been playing for about a month and a half now already), this was a fantastic resource that I actually needed! All I did since I started the game was Gambit, Vanguard and Guardian games playlist aside from Cosmodrome, EDZ and Nessus bounties. Now I know what all to explore, the dungeon, the blind well, Dares of Eternity and other little things. Thanks a lot! This was very helpful!
I really hope Bungie brings back past expansions including the Red War campaign. If Bungie is so worried about how much space it takes up in our consoles or PC, they should make them downloadable instead of all together, unless the player wishes to have all of them. It'd be a real shame if they don't bring it back after The Final Shape.
i’ve been playing for about 5 days now (for free) and have gotten to light level 1760 while casually playing. it’s been fun but there’s not much you can do after you finish the free campaign missions
This game ain’t f2p, it’s a free waste of time. After playing destiny 1 since launch and buying d2 and losing all content. My friend kept asking me to download and I did. This player base is the most delusional I’ve ever seen. How can devs get away with taking away content I payed for and no one is picking up their pitchforks?
Wow that ending, you actually changed my perspective on what you can do in destiny. I’ve never spent any money on the game dlc wise but hey, it’s my 3rd time coming back to the game so who knows
Did you know that the *2* in Destiny 2 stands for the two things that you require to play it? And these are: *_the time of your life and all your money_*
Yeah I feel the people who complain about are the people who had all that content before beyond light. When I played I thought that the guardian rises quest helped me learn about the world and the game mechanics. And I played the game for yeah before buying anything. I bought forsaken, shadowkeep, and I got beyond light for free for playstation plus a month ago.
Unfortunately Its not a full experience by itself. It's more like a demo of Destiny than being f2p. The new light experience is not a campaign, its basically a tutorial.
Depressingly little, always been my biggest barrier getting my friends into this fantastic game I’ve been hooked on since 2014. To anyone just starting, stick with it I promise it’s good.
D2 with the campaigns is a 10/10 experience thats even better with friends, I just wish you didn't need PS plus/ Xbox gold to play it, aswell as adding a subscription service to get all dlc for a certain amount of time
Actually not sure about PS Plus, but you don’t need Xbox Live Gold. Microsoft made it so any game which is free is totally free, you don’t have to pay for the subscription service to access the multiplayer. Good change, did it a year or so back. If Sony hasn’t done the same they need to get with the times, between this and their lack of support for cross-play and console modding I’ve found myself increasingly on Microsoft’s side and I never used to give a damn about the console wars. That said, even on Xbox you still have to buy an expansion or two if you actually want anything substantial to do in the game. My idea to fix that wouldn’t really be that hard. Already Bungie sometimes gives the community free access to expansion content for a month, usually before the next big release or before something gets vaulted. I think they just need to do that more often, it would be easy since they’re already infrequently doing it. Rather than maybe twice a year, just make it so one of the older expansions is always freely accessible for like a month and it just rotates which one.
Right but not to access the game itself. Without Gold, you can play Crucible, Dares, Gambit, and run public events on the few planets available to you. And the stupid New Light campaign. Not much, but not nothing either. You also don’t need Gold to play any of the expansions, you just have to buy the expansions themselves. But you don’t need Gold to play Destiny 2 at all.
You probably ought to take that up with customer service then. They’ve had this policy since April, 2021. Free-to-play games don’t require Gold to access their multiplayer functionalities. Shouldn’t anyway. I just read they even added like fifty other games to the exemption list that aren’t even all free-to-play last month. It should’ve worked for you. That said, Destiny 2 itself can be really buggy sometimes especially when it comes to the licensing on the DLC. I know for example I’ve had to jump through hoops to get it to recognize content sharing when one DLC I own on another account on my Xbox suddenly won’t register on my main account. Bungie even claims the game doesn’t support content sharing so they don’t have to fix it, but it does, it just doesn’t always work right. I could easily see it being some other issue beyond just Microsoft and your Ultimate subscription. Unfortunately Destiny be like that sometimes.
Personally if you only have like 2-3 friends that you would play with regularly, I think that a good change for most people even solos would be to make more Dungeons f2p as time goes on. It's really sad when I'm hyped to show someone the game but we can't do all these really fun activities that instantly come to mind and it is a bit of a bummer. We used to at least have things like The Leviathan (old version) idk it just feels very hollow when I'm actually trying to figure out stuff to do with anyone that doesn't own the same expansions and seasons as me.
Exactly , basically just end up doing strikes on repeat, gets boring quick and doesn’t keep new players wanting to come back. Bungie could also quit being stingy and start reducing prices quicker for older dlc. Ever since cross play and digitalization of games , prices for games/dlc have shot through the roof even on decade old games unfortunately. Games that used to be $1-5 at GameStop now are back to $30-50 in ms store, and even old dlc that used to go on sale now gets sold for premium prices even when there’s no players left playing them to get matches etc
@@carsonhunt4642 I absolutely think that at LEAST in the Final Shape they will make all the old content free but that's honestly wishful thinking, they'll probably just sunset more stuff LOL
This is important for new lights who want new weapons from the season when you do the free season activity where you save holiday you can get make a new charater do first mission in light fall you do the free activity if you do it again you still get the reward and it increase your reputation on war table for more loot so take advantage of this at the start of every season
A add on I found was that if it’s like a story quest like this seasons first mission you won’t get the rewards but if it’s a activity like last season edz saving Amanda Holliday it would work
I got 2 dlc's for £6 each, and the season pass. Can play loads of content, so much I barely have time to play the story with all the other tasks to complete everyday to get my gear score up. Been 3 weeks and I have around 30 exotic weapons and armour, and my gear score is 1810. The gane is very friendly to those of us who do not want to spend a lot at first. I'll be buying all the dlc packages ones I catch up with gear score.
I've played this game for, what, 3-4 years as a f2p player? I started when shadowkeep just dropped, but that's besides the point. 4 years of this game without paying a dime; it just goes to show how much Destiny has to offer. Granted, I did play on and off, but I kept coming back. There was always things to do, perhaps there was more back in the day like the whisper or the outbreak missions, but there's still plenty of content today as shown in the video. Even til today, after I've purchased some of the expansions, there are still so many things I haven't done. For those new lights out there, don't be mislead by the introduction quest. It sucks and it does a horrible job at showing people what this game has to offer, so stick with it for a little more past that and your time will be well compensated.
Nope; 2 raids, 1 dungeon, all of the rituals (which after 7 damn years I can’t fathom going into strikes), dares (but not full access in the treasure hold), a shitty new light campaign, and a fistful of campaign missions, oh also patrol zones but again boring as piss after like a week or two. Forsakens remaining content needs to be free, and 30th anniversary should’ve been free from the get go with a pack selling only the cosmetics. The game is only free and worth playing for maybe 5-10 hours but to actually enjoy the game purchasing content is basically a requirement. Edit: also everyone has access to seasonal events like the upcoming Guardian Games
@@kinchei1594 considering the game has been out for 5 years no not really. Hell ftp players wouldn’t even have access to a raid if it weren’t for d1 reprisals, which theyve already paid for if they played d1 and are returning. There just isn’t a meaningful endgame for ftp players outside of potentially gms but there’s entire seasons in theory where you wouldn’t be able play a single gm. Just seems scummy that so much is still behind a paywall like forsaken was gutted but you can still buy access to a raid no one does outside of cheesing the boss 3 times before completing the final encounter, a dungeon that’s only ever sees playtime for events, or a public event that’s been dead for over 4 years all for the low price of $20 🤣🤣
@@ajb128128 yep and I can’t blame you, I bought it because monkey brain saw ghallarhorn and 1k yd stare and instantly had to have em. However the fact that the dungeon and ghorn is behind a paywall should be a sin.
Just remember that this wasn’t free at first it was $60 at launch. Big middle finger to all those who brought day one and having most of that content removed.
Yup. I have Destiny 2 on disc and can't play the red war... which is on the cover of the box. I really wish they made the vaulted content into a separate game or piece of dlc.
@@theripeorange7951 They shouldn't have gotten rid of it at all. just given you a choice "Play red war (requires download)" or "Play new light, (no download required)"
My biggest recommendation for ftp players: watch and wait for sales, I get not wanting to pay $200 or whatever it is to get all the expansions, but they’re deeply discounted every once in a while, take advantage of that, the dlc’s add a lot to the game.
I mean, sure a lot of content is restricted... But for a Game being played for free its not that bad I think. You'll miss the story and raids, trials and some missions, but the day to day content like nightfalls, PvP and gambit is there. Its basically all I do and I've paid for this game.
Thank you so much for this video. I've played D2 as a f2p player since new light and even before that, the demo. I used to know what kind of content was available to me then, but Bungie keeps shuffling stuff around and now that I am back in the game I didn't even know what I can and can't play. This is really helpful, so thank you
Honestly I wish I watched this video when I was a new player. I thought you had to buy a certain expansion to do nightfalls, but then I learned some of the nightfalls are free.
As far as Public Events go, there is almost always at least one either going on or will start soon. The wells on the Moon and Dreaming City are a decent place to get adjusted to powerful foes and get decent drops.
I may have missed it but about the eververse store if you check the archive there is a shader bundle for a tiny bit of glimmer I may have simply missed it though
I deadass didn't know inverted spire was still in the game. My thoughts on that strike were that I missed it because I just genuinely haven't gotten it in that long. That's sad.
So I switched to PC after being a console player for 15 years, I have all but iron lords on my ps4 account. I downloaded d2 on my pc and was basically a free player(expansions aren't transferable), it felt so empty. But watching your video makes me realize how much content this is for a new player, I'm just used to my cluttered destinations screen lol.
Altars of sorrows is also good for anyone looking for superconductor kills on the riskrunner, just let the hive wizard hit you with some electricity and start shooting
Good video! I don’t know if I’d bother with legend lost sectors. Especially for new free to play person. Those weren’t even worth doing when they were easy.
As a f2p player since forsaken. The only thing you can do after finishing the tutroial stage are the following: - strikes -crucible except for trials -gambit -do your daily bounties to get seasonal exotic gun -legendary raids (vog and kings fall. back then you can access several raids but sadly they content vault them) -sometimes there are bugs that makes for free like dmt and hawkmoon for everyone. Just hope this thing happens again. - dares of eternity (back then they made 30th aniversary pact for free for epic games) But what sucks now is that you cannot get free weekly pinacel loot in the standard strike since some of them requires strand or stasis to use. unlike back then they also consider f2p by putting void solar or arc paired with stasis and strand
i played for free almost for a year and i got a lot of exotics only playing gambit and crucibles. So yeah, you can start playing f2p and get a lot of stuff.
Gonna be real, Gambit only having four maps is nice. It keeps things simple so you don't have to memorize too many map layouts, and besides- You're not fighting against other players for like 80% of the time, so most of the time the simple locations help when you're just picking off grunts to get motes. If you couldn't tell, I'm the one guy who still plays Gambit regularly.
I will say this I palyed destiny 2 free for a whole year then I bought the expansions and I don't know what it is but you get a very huge boost in every single aspect of the game maybe they have account wide information which detects who bought the paid content and boost those accounts for some time
I played Desteny 2 free to play for about a year, almost one and a half year ago, on my super old pc with win 7, then an update came and i could not run the game anymore until yesterday, when i finally bought a new pc and reinstalled the game again. When i played the game i explored all my options as a free to play player, i knew what is the content i cant play, but i played the game anyway because this game managed to build such a good gunplay that i could not get bored of trying out different guns and i love the lore and the sci fi/ horror environment. Maybe this time i will spend some money on the game, but if i dont, i know i will still enjoy the time i spend shooting aliens in it and have fun with the community events. Free to play is enjoyable if you focus on achievable goals instead of what you cant do in the game.
I recently have some financial issues, so I'm not able to get lightfall yet ;( however I'm surprised that I'm almost light level 1800 just by doing the free to play activities. I'm so jelly watching people with strand though 😅
That's honestly quite a lot of stuff f2p players can do. I think it'd be more rewarding for f2p is Bungie made Prophecy and one of the legacy raids a guaranteed pinnacle activity each week so they could get more higher stat gear. Though IIRC the nightfall wont let a f2p player select it for that week if its a strike they don't own the expansion for, which is a bummer. From what I've gathered and experienced, it's pretty hard for a f2p player to get a solid group together to run F2P only content. If only they had story content that was f2p and totally didn't just vault it... That'd never happen... Right? Anyways, great video! Was a fun and educational watch.
If you were lucky to get the 30th Anniversary pack that Bungo gave away when Destiny 2 went available to Epic Games users. You got yourself sorted out in alot of content, since in lightfall alot of good weapons are world drops (f2p), or became available from past seasons. (not really sure of that one, prob DMT and Hawkmoon are locked to Beyond Light owners.)
Destiny 2 is advertised as a looter shooter first and foremost so I deffinitely think to get the full experience or at least a majority of it you need to buy the expansions since planet specific armors are locked behind bounty vendors who are then locked behind DLCs like beyond light, shadow keep and most recently lightfall. The same thing also applies to exotic weapons with some great choices like malfeasence (don't judge i'm ashamed as it is) or le monarque which have been vaulted because their exotic quests have been closed off for one reason or another being locked behind forsaken, a DLC which has been majorly vaulted already or Hawkmoon and DMT which by all means is basically like any other weapon we can get our hands on except with an exotic perk which is then locked behind beyond light. If destiny 2 still had the year 1 campaigns and activities like the red war and other stuff pre vault i'd say it would be great as a free to play game allowing enough marketing to show the highs and lows of the game and letting new players try enough so that they know what they're going to invest in because let's be honest no one's gonna dishout 60 dollars on an expansion or almost a 100 hundred dollars for seasonal content and DLC that's barely of a tripple A status unless it's your livelihood. But with how little content there is of destiny 2 for free to play players I think it would be better to go back to being a paid game with a 20-ish dollar game tag with destination vendors and vaulted exotics all unlocked pre-purchasing the DLC to get a better idea of what sort of DLC you're buying into. Also it could then decrease the price of the DLC's to where people wouldn't have to wonder if they have to sell an arm or wether it'd be worth it. Additionally every 2-3 years they can just let the oldest expansion be free to play for a set time like how most games have a time trial where you can try it out till the end of the timer and if you like it you can buy it.
I'd say it's possible to have a good time as a free player but bungie made it difficult. Easiest thing they could do is make shadowkeep free so free players have an actual chunk of content to get them hooked
I returned recently to Destiny 2. I payed for the game on release, didn't even know it ever went FTP until recently returning. Frankly, I am super pissed about it. All of my gear I worked for last time I played (besides exotics) is useless, I can't upgrade it to the current light level. 3 of my favorite outfits and all of the God rolls I had from back in the day are gone, and some of that stuff is completely useless to get back now. I can't play the original Red War campaign and it's not like I was refunded or given anything on my account for the money I spent on release. I am left in the exact same place as a free to play gamer despite that I've put money into the game. The one thing I hated about Destiny 1 and 2 is how much of a money grab they are from Bungie, and they've lost a lot of my respect for it, but now I'm really against supporting their marketing tactics. Hell, as much fun as I'm having in the PvP again, I'm not even sure I want to play the game at all.
As much as the playlists activities are lacking in fresh and engaging updates/changes, this is alot of content for someone to do and try out a game. I can’t think of any other game with this much stuff aside from warfram
i think the free stuff is worth it cause you still gota do some grinding but also cause the games not really all about the event, its also about the community.
A more comprehensive list of the FTP content: 1. Vault of glass and kings fall, arguably amoung the best in the game. 2. The prophecy dungeon, not a whole lot of good loot here bits it’s pretty fun. 3. Crafting, mostly world drop stuff 4. Legend/master lost sectors 5. The first mission in the witch queen, shadow keep, beyond light, and lightfall campaigns 6. All of the crucible 7. Basic access to all current locations 8. Vanguard ops playlist and (if it’s not a dlc strike that week) nightfalls and grandmasters 9. Gambit, lmao 10. Any world drop exotic This is all of the important stuff I can think of.
update this to say not trials for crucible as thats the most important one. As well as master versions of the raids and definitely add xur. Outside of that I'd say pretty accurate.
basically: - If you're not a PS gamer: Gambit, crucible, strike, nightfall, some raids, dares of eternity (extremely recommended), and destination activities - If you're a PS gamer: everything above except for gambit, crucible, strikes and nightfall
Having every big event no longer locked behind paywalls is so relieving to me. Im gonna give D2 F2P Another shot now that ive watched an hour's worth of youtube to understand whats going on.
I think I would've preferred any other map that got taken from us other then citadel. The way that map plays is so bad and I can't believe that's the one map they picked to bring back
well if you're on ps4, basically nothing as you have to pay for seasons, expansions, gambit/vanguard/crucible/do free raids/activities with other players, and that leaves you with basically nothing at all to do.
As a ps4 player, none of these are free for me, besides the game itself and lightfalls first mission, but all the others cost money, this is why im getting a PC
I really feel that what is needed for the new light experience is some sort of Campaign to help guide the player. The campaign, be it Shadow Keep made free (Lets be honest it's like four years old now I feel they could make it free and not lose much) or if they can, even bring back the Red War and bump up it's difficulty a bit and make some changes to help create a new experience. A Campaign is a perfect way to teach new players the ropes, mechanics and story if done well. It also has the benefit of levelling up the player so they can later do the harder content like Raids and Dungeons. Lastly I feel while the ability to play the first mission of all the current campaigns is good, but it isn't able to show the new player what it's like to experience a full Bungie campaign, it currently doesn't show the new player what they can be like, and if they are worth their time and money.
Honestly I felt that Lightfall's first mission is really good giving players a taste of what is in the campaign. It shows a "new" enemy faction, it shows the new enemy type tormenters, and it even makes you use strand for a little bit.
Btw on PlayStation u can’t do any crucible or gambit cuz it requires PlayStation plus and you can only do onslaught and the patrols on the other planets u can do quests and stuff but a lot of them u can’t do without PlayStation plus AND you can’t be in a fireteam without PlayStation plus

(Occasionally) Nightfall Playlist 7. Dares of Eternity 8. Adept/Regular/Master Lost Sectors 9. First mission of paid DLCs (I think) 10. Prophecy Dungeon 11. Vault of Glass (Including Master version) 12. Kings Fall (Including Master version) If Epic games: 10. Grasp of Avarice Dungeon That should be a good 100+ hours of content for free. The new control mode sounds like a riff from apex’s control, or that game where you fight w melees as vikings, samurai, or knights cant remember the name man im sorry but if i had to guess thats what it will be like
TLDR basically you get access to all the content no one does more than once a week. Play something else and get rewarded for your time. Because after you have those rewards, you have nothing more to test the capabilities of any builds you aquire.
My one hopes is that they make nightfalls not require the specific expansion and exotics from XUR should not require that expansion. Like seriously for titans or hunters if you don’t have the forsaken pack he was useless basically today

Having a campaign would be good for new people it gives them a story to latch onto and follow to show/explain destiny’s light vs dark sage cause currently it can be very confusing story wise for new people.
They really should make it free, not like it's bringing them much income right now 😂
True, especially bc of the exotics since they are rly good and could give new players some decent loot since f2p exotics are 99% doodoo water
Also it helps that the story is pretty good in that campaign besides the ending cutscene.
@@andrewpineappl4599the story yes, the bounty simulator isn’t
@@gengarclefairy3475 That I agree on.
You also have 2 great raids that you can play over and over with your friends and if that doesn't sound so good seeing the total number of raids available just think that some of us played destiny 1 for years with only a total of 4 raids available (and i think that those 2 that have been remastered in destiny 2 are the best one, the is another one that players really like but for me those 2 are the best)
Still, if you ever feels like you are getting bored in free destiny 2 the are some old dlcs that are now around 10/15€ and they both add a new raid, a new dungeon, a new planet and new activities on those planets
@@OhSolinuM What the expansions really do is expand the list of available weapons.
You know what I miss what games use to be one price for the entire game not 70$ per slice 500$ for the whole game lol
(i’ve had my character since destiny 1 so it’s been easier than starting again) but i haven’t played for a good 2 years
This game ain’t f2p, it’s a free waste of time. After playing destiny 1 since launch and buying d2 and losing all content. My friend kept asking me to download and I did. This player base is the most delusional I’ve ever seen. How can devs get away with taking away content I payed for and no one is picking up their pitchforks?

The red war campaign as a new light was elite. I’ve never seen this new new light
I started playing with forsaken and I really enjoyed the Red War campaign, I miss it
I'll be honest there's a lot more stuff you can do for free then I thought. It's a very good taste of what destiny has to offer
I agree
Yeah I feel the people who complain about are the people who had all that content before beyond light. When I played I thought that the guardian rises quest helped me learn about the world and the game mechanics. And I played the game for yeah before buying anything. I bought forsaken, shadowkeep, and I got beyond light for free for playstation plus a month ago.
Unfortunately Its not a full experience by itself. It's more like a demo of Destiny than being f2p. The new light experience is not a campaign, its basically a tutorial.
The content Is good the problem Is that the game doesnt guide you through It, most new players Just feel Lost when they start
As a d2 vet, I can agree that this is indeed helpful
Thank you so much!
@arbington you can't do anything in dlc including current expansion .so you do need xbox gold to play anything current in the game
God I miss base leviathan. I played mostly in year 1 and 2 never got to do the harder leviathan modes but nothing beats that golden ship
I'll be buying all the dlc packages ones I catch up with gear score.
how did you get it for £6?
Just shared this with a friend who is returning to the game as a free to play. Thank you for the simple to follow information.
not much then lmao

This is really helpful, so thank you
i love how they gave up on gambit but they won’t let us give up on it as well
After 3 years my friend decided to play D2 for the first time this weekend. this video is perfect for him
Honestly I wish I watched this video when I was a new player. I thought you had to buy a certain expansion to do nightfalls, but then I learned some of the nightfalls are free.
Much love guys thank you for watching. Wish I did it sooner
I'm hoping they rework Crota's end. They already have a good Crota model in the game, might as well put it to use
I deadass didn't know inverted spire was still in the game. My thoughts on that strike were that I missed it because I just genuinely haven't gotten it in that long. That's sad.
Weekly vendor challenges are basically the only viable way you can get exotics
I've been playing for free since beyond light
So I switched to PC after being a console player for 15 years, I have all but iron lords on my ps4 account. I downloaded d2 on my pc and was basically a free player(expansions aren't transferable), it felt so empty. But watching your video makes me realize how much content this is for a new player, I'm just used to my cluttered destinations screen lol.
I play but after I got to a certain point it got a little boring there’s to much blocked behind a pay wall
Thank you for this! I just got my friend into this game and I’ve been struggling to find things for him to do since he’s doing free to play 👌
Of course! Thank you for watching!
Shadowkeep was such an incredible time to invite friends to play the game for free,
Altars of sorrows is also good for anyone looking for superconductor kills on the riskrunner, just let the hive wizard hit you with some electricity and start shooting
it is worth playing free but some of the dlc's make it more fun and some of the campaign's are really worth it
Good video! I don’t know if I’d bother with legend lost sectors. Especially for new free to play person. Those weren’t even worth doing when they were easy.
They actually are nerfing the bosses health so it may be better here soon! Thank you so much!!
If the nigthfall is from a expansion that you dont have you cant do nightfall that week
As a f2p player since forsaken. The only thing you can do after finishing the tutroial stage are the following:
- strikes
-crucible except for trials
-gambit
-do your daily bounties to get seasonal exotic gun
-legendary raids (vog and kings fall. back then you can access several raids but sadly they content vault them)
-sometimes there are bugs that makes for free like dmt and hawkmoon for everyone. Just hope this thing happens again.
- dares of eternity (back then they made 30th aniversary pact for free for epic games)
But what sucks now is that you cannot get free weekly pinacel loot in the standard strike since some of them requires strand or stasis to use. unlike back then they also consider f2p by putting void solar or arc paired with stasis and strand
They just need to add a small free campaign to get people invested into the game, there's no hook in the tutorial and they should definitely change it
i played for free almost for a year and i got a lot of exotics only playing gambit and crucibles. So yeah, you can start playing f2p and get a lot of stuff.
i been f2p for a month just sad i cant join my friends or do trials cus its currently a dlc map
The worst part about the maps, is that you can't do planetary bounties if you don't have the dlc.:(
Yeah that is really annoying. Most of them are just like: do lost sectors, patrols, and public events. or kill this type of enemy.
That’s a fair frustration. That’s why I wanted to highlight which bounties are accessible since they don’t make it clear.
@@cbgray Yeah I like that you were saying all the details because then other players won't have the same frustrations.

I zoned out and started crying when he mentioned the farm.
I miss the original farm.
Also if you cant play online then you're kinda screwed. You basically cant get 90% of the endgame items. No trials, nothing.
On ps4/5 u need ps+ to play strike, gambit and crucible and any free raid
Yeah.
This is an insane resource, thanks for putting all this together! :D
Of course!!
Final fantasy 14
i think the free stuff is worth it cause you still gota do some grinding but also cause the games not really all about the event, its also about the community.
A more comprehensive list of the FTP content:
1. Vault of glass and kings fall, arguably amoung the best in the game.
2. The prophecy dungeon, not a whole lot of good loot here bits it’s pretty fun.
3. Crafting, mostly world drop stuff
4. Legend/master lost sectors
5. The first mission in the witch queen, shadow keep, beyond light, and lightfall campaigns
6. All of the crucible
7. Basic access to all current locations
8. Vanguard ops playlist and (if it’s not a dlc strike that week) nightfalls and grandmasters
9. Gambit, lmao
10. Any world drop exotic
This is all of the important stuff I can think of.
update this to say not trials for crucible as thats the most important one. As well as master versions of the raids and definitely add xur. Outside of that I'd say pretty accurate.
The free to play isn’t bad but if you competitive you would probably by it because of Trials
That fit at the beginning was tuff bro
basically:
- If you're not a PS gamer: Gambit, crucible, strike, nightfall, some raids, dares of eternity (extremely recommended), and destination activities
- If you're a PS gamer: everything above except for gambit, crucible, strikes and nightfall
Also to add, a week before The Final Shape comes out you will be able to play Lightfall for free (if the trend continues)
Having every big event no longer locked behind paywalls is so relieving to me. Im gonna give D2 F2P Another shot now that ive watched an hour's worth of youtube to understand whats going on.
I’m glad to have you playing I posted a free to play video of all the exotics today too!
Cb the goat, perfect guide!! This would have been awesome when I started
I think I would've preferred any other map that got taken from us other then citadel. The way that map plays is so bad and I can't believe that's the one map they picked to bring back
Very good Video
well if you're on ps4, basically nothing as you have to pay for seasons, expansions, gambit/vanguard/crucible/do free raids/activities with other players, and that leaves you with basically nothing at all to do.
I miss red war.
Idk why they don't just have selectable downloads for past content...
i loved the red war campaign

The new control mode sounds like a riff from apex’s control, or that game where you fight w melees as vikings, samurai, or knights cant remember the name man im sorry but if i had to guess thats what it will be like
TLDR basically you get access to all the content no one does more than once a week. Play something else and get rewarded for your time. Because after you have those rewards, you have nothing more to test the capabilities of any builds you aquire.
Without ps plus you can't access the core playlist, including raids, dungeons and fireteam feature
I still haven't bought a single dlc even after all these years so if i decide to ill get to experience all new stuff to me so that'll be cool
I need Bungie to add that skull helmet back into the game, or ornament whatever I need it I was never able to get it when it came out.
My one hopes is that they make nightfalls not require the specific expansion and exotics from XUR should not require that expansion. Like seriously for titans or hunters if you don’t have the forsaken pack he was useless basically today
Short answer, the beginning missions.
Long answer, nothing.
