Operation: Seraph's Shield doesn't take place in the Morning Star, which is the orbital part of the Deep Stone Crypt, it takes place in the Seraph Station, an orbital platform above Earth that controls the Warsats.
Exotic quests have always been my favorite part of the game. Just the feeling of after a long time of grinding getting somthing that’s actually good! It’s an amazing feeling.
When exotic missions require something grindy like getting 3 exotic fish, that when you know it’s bad. The boss was annoying, and the mechanic was dumb, and we get a stasis scout which is mid. I miss old missions like Seraph Station because it has good loot, a great exotic, and was actually fun.
Mine too. It was the main thing that made me I’ve the game. The exotic missions are cool yeah, but finding secrets to unlock the gun or finding the secret mission to unlock it like Whisper (which definitely was the best) and Zero Hour.
With the exotic mission rotator getting added next season, I hope Whisper, Zero Hour and some others getting added back someday. Also, some of the kiosk exotics should have just been added to world drops. Exotics like Truth aren’t worth a cipher.
It's looking like Zero Hour or Whisper won't be added until at least the final season of Lightfall. Zero Hour seems most likely since Whisper is IO. I'm hype for Presage next season though
maybe, maybe not brotha. I personally hope exotic world drops ain’t gonna cost ANY ciphers any more, just some shards. Anyway, I got some motes to trade. Transmat firing!
As someone who's only just started playing during Season of Plunder, I certainly had a lot to miss out on. Exotic Misson rotator next season will be great!
I'm back 9 months later and I'm happy to report that The Whisper Exotic Mission has been back in the game for almost 2 months now, and Zero Hour is returning tomorrow (14th of May) with Into the Light
As somebody that did all the exotic weapon quests before they were removed and got the raid exotics before sunsetting too, I’ve barely used exotic ciphers in the kiosk. Mainly for Lunas howl and not forgotten just cause
Outbreak is listed under red war because the gun was available to be obtained by anyone regardless if they had forasken or the anual pass. Now people without Forsaken were very underleveld for the mission but could be carried through to get it.
I dont have a couple of these exotics, but for the ones I got the OG way it just makes me feel so damn good. I am really proud of myself for actually getting all the weapons that I did before their quests got sunset especially since I was a much more casual player back then. Thank you so much for this video. This was a really nostalgia kick that put a smile on my face
Man early year one exotic quests i barely remember. I think the rat king one was the only one i remember best because of how hectic it was to get it. The exotic kiosk is such a grind. Makes me feel bad for new lights who cant get materials easily.
I remember the thorn quest and whisper mission above the rest, introduced me to the guys I ended up playing with from then on and a lot of fun times, whisper was crazy for us as we were under powered and more or less just winging it got it right as the timer hit zero
Presage is coming to the exotic mission rotator in S22 along with Vox Obscura and Operation: Seraph Shield, but Harbinger is not. They have indicated that they plan on adding to the rotator in the future though, so hopefully Harbinger will show up there soon, along with (fingers crossed!) Whisper and Zero Hour.
All of these remind me of the days I actually played d2 non-stop. Now I just play until I’m tired of it. It’s sad to think back on all of the good. I miss raiding with the homies. The last raid I completed was VoG. Maybe one day I’ll do the newer ones…….
Ah the Thorn quest, I remember it mostly because during the final part the Destiny 2 servers kept kicking me out, I was playing with friends so I managed to join them back but I kept telling them through chat 'I need those knights! Wait until I join to kill them!' Three times I got kicked out, three times I joined back in but my friends and I managed it, I almost cried with relief when we completed it not because it was hard but due to how much the servers were working against me, it was also one of the final things I did, the other being the Lumina quest, before uninstalling the game for years. I only returned to it this year
As I started playing D2 in season of the lost I never got to play warmind but I was looking through my collections recently and I found that I could pull the legendary Polaris lance from collections and it plays just like the exotic and it’s really fun to pair with something like conditional finality
I remember trying to get whisper completed it since I wasn't good at solo looking back I wish I was better got lucky with a squad mate who helped greatful till this day
Nice been playing for the last two years this was very interesting. The two missions I enjoyed the most are Presage and Operation Seraph Shield. I already have the weapons but I'll be playing them just for fun when they come back.
Thanks for this vid! You’ve brought back great nostalgic memories. These quest made Destiny 2 what it is. We grinded for these exotics while all the new lights only have to go to the exotic kiosk! New lights know nothing of The Whisper of the Worm, Worldline Zero, or Zero Hour quest! Make Destiny great again!
Awesome video! Definitely makes me sad that they took all of that stuff out of the game. I'm hoping they come back when Bungie adds that mission rotator they have been talking about! Also, I dug that whimsical music that played throughout the video. Made me smile!
Operation Seraph's Shield was the shit for me. I went in with no idea what I was getting into. It was 40 minutes of fun and I loved every moment of it.
I will never forget, I had no idea about DMT or its quest or anything as I was relatively new at the time. I randomly stumbled upon the DMT quest, I loaded late into the strike and didnt really know where to go at the time - I had found my way to the data pad and got the mission for DMT. Ill never forget that, I called my friend up telling him about a mission he already knew XD
Dam, I did so many of these when I started in season 10. I never realized they removed so many quests though. I feel somewhat bad for all the newer players. Some of these quests were a tad bit grindy and obtuse, but that’s part of the exotic chase in my mind. Not having to go through that makes the exotics less memorable.
2 things i noticed 1. For the acrius doesnt you need to do a specific adventure on nessus where cayde talks about a new cabal emperor? 2. The seraph shield mission takes place on a space station in earths orbit which looks like the one from DSC.
Yeah this sad example of a EXOTIC quest that we just had with the stasis scout(soooo baddd can’t remember name of it) makes new lights think THIS is what old lights are talking about! I miss whisper mission soooo baddd!
I may need to mention this but the thunderlord quest in festival of the lost during forsaken where you returned to the cosmodrome and arby one too i guess. Those the only two i didn't see unless i wasn't paying attention but yeah.
I really enjoyed this video. I started destiny late 2018 so I didn’t get to experience most of the older quests. I do wish I got to complete the whisper mission. I tried many times on my own. Plus, I wish I got to do the quest for outbreak at least once.
I really hope the final shape has some juicy exotic quests, lightfall, witch queen and beyond light is bassicly just a bunch of boring simple tasks with doing a strike or extremely simple mission at the end it’s really sad compared to how cool it was before and now they reveal the exotics and don’t leave any room for mystery.
The Legend of Acrius was one that I missed the most cause I had that modified version for so long, but never had anyone to help do the raid for part of the mission. That and I still can't get people to help me farm for spoils of conquest nowadays.
In my uni days, this quests used to be the way on how i bring new players to enjoy the game... we invite them to outbreak and the whisper of the worm. we started 3 players then to 14-20+ players in a span of a year. I got sad when it was taken away.
I had the privilege to complete Ace of Spades, i wish they bring it back, such a nostalgic one... and even to the extended to collect all 13 pages.... i still have ace
I don't ever remember that modifier for the Acrius one, I obtained my Acrius a while back from it's quest, i remember being stuck with the terrible one for so long, but i genuinely don't remember a very specific modifier for the strike, i barely remember running the strike for it though
I still have my original Ace that I got from the mission sitting in my vault, I like to keep it as a trophy and a memory of better days. I haven't had the motivation to play the game for awhile now. But who knows, maybe I'll have a reason to pick it up again in the future.
On mars there was also a secret together with worldline zero that dropped you a sparrow, G-335 Anseris overdrive after you collected all 45 nodes. Though it is not a weapon it was a cool secret to get
I wish they would bring back the last word mission as a replayable. The mechanic for the boss fight was so cool. And yes, i called it a boss fight. I will die on that hill.
I remember abusing the shit out of the timeless Zero Hour exploit to get its catalyst and the Quarantine Zone emblem, lmao. I also have fond memories of getting Le Monarque when the Gofannon Forge initially released on my first run, and my friends ended up cursing me to never get Jotunn until everyone else did. Sure enough, a year later, I finally got the stupid thing.
Wow, I forgot how many hoops they made you jump through for exotic quests the first 3 years of D2. I'm surprised at how much Crucible was involved considering how I hated it for so long. Maybe trying to complete these quests was partially why. Hilariously enough I think I completed the Sleeper quest on accident. Its the one weapon where I never really knew how the hell I got it. I just noticed it I had it randomly one day. Could never figure out how as I don't recall actively seeking it out like I did everything else. Always preferred exotic missions over long quests. Not really a puzzle guy though I have to admit I enjoy seeing others solve them. Never did finish Whisper or even try Outbreak. Really hoping both eventually return as I have ever so slightly more confidence in my abilities to do them now than I did back then. My favorite of the exotic missions is probably Presage or Seraph's Shield. Both were fun to complete and had decent lore as you traversed them.
I love this concept of exotic quests. Im glad this video is here because I discovered stuff about the game I'd never even heard of before since I havent been playing destiny for too long (2 years).
Ive always wondered why outbreak was in the redwar tab but i think it might just be that way so people can have a f2p last resort dps weapon but no idea, also seraph is on a copy of the dsc not the dsc cause that crashed on europa while seraph station was above earth
I will always miss paid destiny 2. The Red War campaign was extremely good and the Curse of Osiris + Warmind dlcs were amazing as well. It's sad to see the new lights never get to experience old destiny 2 and how it was before the sunsetting and the beginning of destiny 2 slowly becoming destiny 1. I will also miss getting the subclasses for the first time. Getting the subclasses was extremely fun and rewarding. R.I.P Lance Reddick, the zavala voice actor 😭😭 1962-2023.
I still have the uncompleted legend of acrius in my heavy slot after all these years lol. The game won't even let me put it in my vault so i just leave it there cause why not!
There were genuinely so many fun season activities, I'm thankful that Deep Dives are at least fun now, and not boring battlegrounds like everything in the last 3-4 years now.
Seraph Shield doesn't take you back to the orbital station of the DSC (how could it), its a whole seperate station. Alas I really liked playing Seraph Shield and tried to speedrun it a few times since you had to go back there so many times for each Revision Zero piece :')
I started playing midway through Haunted and I feel like I missed out on so much. Really wish I could turn back the clock, especially with community morale being bottomed out.
i really miss whisper mission, i sadly never got to obtain the ship thats prop my fav item in this game and i really hope we can reobtain / obtain it when the mission comes to the rotator in s22
God i miss these days. Now its always just some dungeon or half baked mission, I'd kill for a proper quest. pressage was nice tho. But those older more drawn out pursuit quests? *chefs kiss*
Miss whisper the most. That was by far the best secret mission, and I'm not sure if there's any other way of getting the taken ship now or if it's just unattainable. Haven't really checked the kiosk as I've gotten all exotics legit over the years lol, just waiting on condition finality to finally drop for me :(
I think it's in the Red War section because it doesn't require the Forsaken DLC to purchase, Red War/Game ownership is enough, the Exotics don't seem split by Year released as much as by DLC Required to own them, that's what I've been told at least
You can play War Thunder for free now with my link at playwt.link/cbgray and get a massive bonus pack including vehicles, booster, and a whole lot more!
Cant wait!
The gjallarhorn quest in the rise of iron along with the abadon and nova mortis quests with the dawning lastly the sleeper in destiny one
Operation: Seraph's Shield doesn't take place in the Morning Star, which is the orbital part of the Deep Stone Crypt, it takes place in the Seraph Station, an orbital platform above Earth that controls the Warsats.

That might actually be something Bungie would do…
It wouldnt be until way after final shape if they did come back not before it lmao
As someone who's only just started playing during Season of Plunder, I certainly had a lot to miss out on. Exotic Misson rotator next season will be great!
You are gonna love them. They were fun, but also pretty difficult when you were under-leveled.
I started during season 15 and feel the same 😅

I loved this trip down memory lane. makes me miss the good ol days and hopeful for another whisper-esque mission in the coming seasons

Small correction: You'll still get Quicksilver Storm from the standard edition of Lightfall, deluxe edition isn't necessary. That's how I got it.
Man the ace of spades quest was the one quest that was worth the grind and time.
I ran Seraph's Shield so many times that I managed to get solo flawless four times in a row on it
Whisper was so fun. I never got the catalyst for my outbreak, that was to difficult
Polaris lance one kinda reminds me of d1 nechrocasm where you had to upgrade the rarity with kills
For information, Zero Hour with Mithrax came in S7, but we had already met him in S1 in the Rat King Quest
I'm glad they're putting the exotic quests into a rotation. I miss the Zero Hour quest
As I started playing D2 in season of the lost I never got to play warmind but I was looking through my collections recently and I found that I could pull the legendary Polaris lance from collections and it plays just like the exotic and it’s really fun to pair with something like conditional finality
woulda been cool if you mentioned the upgraded way to get some of the exotics that had their acquisition method changed before being removed
Which ones are you referring to that you miss?
@@cbgrayforge weapons got streamlined. They added boxes for jötunn and le monarque.
Hi dad
Whisper was Goated. Lets be real tho, we all died on the parkour more than once. Even Michael Scott wasn’t even prepared
Love the fact that I have every one of these weapons and I've never bought any of them.
I remember the phenomenal metal track in the background during the bad juju quest
Zero Hour was suprising on a blind run. Running into that "Hallway Monitor"....
I remember trying to get whisper completed it since I wasn't good at solo looking back I wish I was better got lucky with a squad mate who helped greatful till this day

F
thunderlord had a quest aswell
Tractor cannon is actually a quest exotic because of the chest in the cosmodrome using Maeve’s key
