“99 times out of 10” Scott you are so awesome 😊
The Farber Bros. Deco nude compote is amazing. Those classic nude collections only appreciate in value over time. What a fabulous curated collection of Art Deco. Thanks!
# ⁶😮😮😮😢
Nice finds. I watched the beginning and came back to watch the rest. The perculator I got from you looks and works perfectly, but to answer the other person's question, if you're going to use a cup that is typically used today, it is difficult to try to get it under the spicket. I just keep my pot on a little riser and if the riser is a little drawer to keep your spoons, tea bisquits, etc., it's a bonus! It works great that way, is safer not to be pulled off the counter when you're removing your cup and much easier to access. My perculator was beautifully cared for by Scott and looked brand new when I got it, which makes me even more protective of it, and I use it and have gotten compliments on how good the coffee is!
Great haul Scotty! Thanks for sharing!
Love the way you still ask us to wait for the cat! Salem was a great cat!
Oh Salem wasn't just an ordinary cat. That Tom was The Supervisor! ☆☆☆☆☆
Art Deco items are really amazing nice find.
I can't stand coffee anything, but I sure enjoy the opening coffee moment with the dancing cartoon!
I think those naked ladies are making you nervous LoL. Love the bold colors in the vase from Japan . Enjoyed the video like your sense of humor.
I love the Art Deco nude items. They are beautiful art and they are tastefully done.
Love the Miss Lemon reference! 🙂
Beautiful haul. I was noticing the background and Noticed you have a enamel cream and green pot hanging on a bird cage stand. You always give great information.
Oh I didn't forget the handled plate !!! I want it!!!
Love the naked ladies! The cobalt blue dish on the one is stunning !😍

I always wondered how people knew when the coffee was done percolating. Great info! That sure was a whirlwind of Deco pieces 🏆. And I also give your shirt a thumbs up!👍❤️🐩
Love your subtle humor, like when you sprinkled powder sugar in your lap! 😂
I love the coffee set. Gorgeous. Oh oh oh….the cocktail set.
I'm salivating ...
Scott, you have the best finds. I love your pieces. I bought a percolator without the cord and went to the hardware store for a new cord. Works great.
Hey Scott, Loved all of your purchases that you are putting on Ebay. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing when you said if I don't lose any body the coffee is safe. Your a HOOT.....
Very interesting presentation.
If there is one color that says 1930's to me, it's that tangerine orange. I love it, along with the green.
Thank Goodness, Prohibition is over, I haven't had a glass a water in years"😂❤
I love it!
Beautiful haul Scott. Thanks for answering my question. Your videos have always been great, and I notice that they're becoming more polished all the time. What a wonderful job you're doing! ❤👍🎉
You could bring the percolator close to the edge of the table, then any size cup works! But,you would have to be careful not to overfill your cup.😯
Cocktail shaker and coffee pots 🙀some of my favourite things.👍😀
Oh! You even mention Poirot! Wonderful!
I’ve seen that compote with a dark red glass before. Beautiful piece!
That muffineer set was my favourite- those colours!
I’d have that off the shelf and purchased so fast 💨 you’d only see a cloud of dust behind me.
like the road runner’s‼️
Love the cobalt glass & chrome lady. And the deco cake plate. Scott you always have such tempting things.
Hi Scott i am just in the middle of painting Golden Iris by William Morris so I have been dipping in and out of your video. Once again very professional and I love all of your itemsxx
As Howard Carter said upon entering King Tut’s tomb, “Wonderful things!” Fabulous Art Deco! TFS! My favorites - ♥️ - the cocktail shaker and the cobalt and chrome cocktail shaker.
I meant cobalt and chrome cocktail compote!
😂😂😂I like it
Hey Scott, I just have to wonder why you've hung a cooking pot on what looks like a bird cage stand?... However, you do have a quirky sense of humor... So I guess you're just messing with us, LOL! (BTW - Love the 'Jeeves and Wooster' reference based on the P. G. Wodehouse books turned into a British comedy series) I always enjoy your thrift finds and live sales and I/we are eternally 'waiting for the cat'... (Hopefully you will welcome another feline into your home when you're ready...) Happy Days and Lots of Love!

Hi, Scott ! First of all, I love the Designer Cream Lampstand over your shoulder. Can honestly say I've never, ever seen one of that design and style. It's the biggest Cake Stand anywhere .... Or, is it full of Cookies for a Midnight Munchie visit ? 😆🍰🍪. It's always a pleasure to see your items and listen to your Commentary and Knowledge. As always, looking forward to your sale. P.S. .... Get well soon, Vinny ! 👏🤒👍😉
Yes Vinny....get well soon!! Thank you, Mark!
😂 I see that you’re covering up that light switch again. Too many get distracted by that socket/switch.😅
Lol I'm one of those! But today I'm thinking is he taking the birdcage and kettle for a walk 😆
Lol!!😂

Are you going to get a nude strike for all those two ladies!!! I love your haul, very exciting. The lady with the different colored nursers, if necessary you could lightly paint the white one. She's a beauty 😍
99 times outta ten ….gotta love that
Thanks for another awesome video 💕
Scott!! really? I’m questioning your designing abilities in the background this evening 😢 lol!😂
Great to see this
Hi Scott, nice assemblage of items shown today.
I do have a slight clarification on the tea set. The handles they have are not Bakelite. They are Catalin. Bakelite was only made from 1907-1927 before the patent ran out, Catalin took over and remade it by removing the fillers used for Bakelite, which resulted in the black and dark brown colors and were used for more utilitarian things like light sockets, outlets etc, and for early plastic handles of coffee urns etc.
Catalin can be made in bright colors, and the saddle tan of the handles of that tea/coffee set are proof of that. Also, Catalin can be totally opaque, partially so, or translucent.
Both Bakelite and Catalin are based on Phenol resins and are an early form of plastic.
Catalin had a tendency to shrink over time and was used for more decorative items, like napkin rings, toys, tea set handles, jewelry, and plastic bodied radios. Some were made of Bakelite, but were painted, others like Fada used Catalin thus came in multitude of colors, such as the saddle/blue marble swirl (of one famous bullet style radio from Fada likely came in).
Due to their similar appearance, they are often confused and thus Catalin gets called Bakelite instead of Catalin, or Vs Versa if one is even aware of Catalin in the first place.
Wow! Impressive amount of info..much appreciated.😃
@@bettinarossi7908 Funny thing is, I had to Google as I could not recall what exactly was catalin as the last time I read up on it was years ago and it took less than 5 minutes on Google to look up that info.
Love the lady I have a purple one
Always love seeing your finds. So fun! It’s so nice that you do such a conscientious job cleaning and making everything safe for your buyers. Regarding issues with zooming in, you may try holding your hand palm facing camera behind object to get it into focus. (Less for camera to “see”. I sold jewelry live and often found that trick would help camera read image/subject.) I hope you have a fabulous rest of the week.
How you say things that are funny with a straight face lol
I have the art deco lady in amber. I also inherited a purple candy dish from my mom, but in doesn't have the pedestal stand. Love art deco.
I can just hear granny saying what kind of stuff is that while daughter is thrilled with the color and shape I have a vase similar to the gold nude made by usona pottery out of west Virginia, now closed. She too was rubbed in the pointy places lol. Thanks for sharing.
I have tried to find your video I got a new phone and could not find it l finally found it on a piece of paper. It's been about 5 or 6 months I have been looking for it. I also was worried about your cat so glad to see it is all right. God bless you and yours.
This cobalt is beautiful Scott!
Great items
Haha 99 times out of 10 😂
The pottery matches your shirt...
That Japanese platter looks cubist! Love it. Is there a prize for viewers who notice the cream and green pot suspended from the bird cage hanger?
I kept waiting for him to explain! I'm happy you also noticed! My thought was: He's covering up the missing switch plate because he doesn't want to explain why it's not up yet!
Great video... Scott
what the heck is that hanging behind you on the bird cage? i see in the reflection of the farber ware that the motherinlawstongue is in the bay window -- has it found a permanent home?
I assume the enamel pot on the stand by the china closet means you are hard at it in the kitchen.Or the light switch is really broken.
Aloha 🌺🥰
Such great items I like lusterware and I have a great piece of gonder pottery wish I could show you it so you can tell me its age and the chrome is amazing
Where did the Snake plant go now!?? Lol
Ha ha....snaking its way all around the house!
The last photo, it was in the bay window by the dining table.
Hi Scott, great vid as always. I am infatuated with art deco and own an American Four Square I'm slowly restoring and kitting out with period furniture. I have to blend in some Nouveau and Victorian pieces because those would have been inherited. What books would you recommend for Deco research?
My mom & dad's percolator wasn't that nice; but, I can still remember the sound that the percolator made. I didn't like coffee as a youngster; but, I have always loved the aroma.
Loved tour presentation. Now... that being said... GET YOUR BUTT DOWN TO MARYLAND and enjoy your exclusive access to the Wordsmith secret headquarters of all things old, elegant and exciting! LOL... Seriously though, Evelyn and I are both quite thrilled at the prospect of you passing through en route to Vinny's Maryland hideaway. Drop me a call or an email anytime you like... always a pleasure.
Take care my brother...

Scott, what is hanging on the right side of the hutch. I swear on my computer it looks like a porcelain pot!!! I know it must be a lamp.
What is the difference between Art Deco and art nouveau?
Art Nouveau began in the late 19th century and ran for 20 years until other art forms came to be, such as the Advant Guarde. it was the first modern art form and unified art and was the first to break boundaries between ffine and decorative arts, inspired by the present, but the promise of the future and was more curvy in its design ethos.
Art Deco, the term didn't come about until the 1960's got its start in the 1920's and was shown in Paris in 1925 and ran up until the 1940's.
Deco was geometric, sleek, streamlined, inspired by technology, paid attention to balance, emphasizing vertical lines, the zig zag and the rectilinear shapes that we saw in this video.
I LOVE that shirt that you’re wearing in this video! Is it vintage? Are you willing to sell the shirt off your back?? 😅
Ha ha naw.....that padded shirt is lined and so so warm!
JOHN-ROBERT, I take that as a no 😁
@@rhondaborders3452 I think you’re right! ☹️😜
@@oldcuriosityshop265 darn! That is a gorgeous padded cozy looking shirt alright! 😊
@JOHN-ROBERT ---Agreed...Scott is sporting a really nice shirt for the season. At some local farm stores, John Deere dealers, Army-Navy stores, even truckstops, it's possible to find some wellmade & warm & goodlooking men's winter & summer garments. Many great brands can also be easily found & ordered online at super prices. These days online shopping for the better things needed in my life proves the be the best choice compared to regular shopping. ...Good Luck!!!
Why is an enameled pot hanging on a birdcage hanger beside your china closet?
Why not just finish the electric? Or close up the hole?☺
XOXO
I am on my iPad and there is no link to your eBay store anywhere I can find😢😢😢
Scroll up to the description box.....click to make it drop down and the link is always there.
Linda , under the title 1930 thrift haul you’ll see “more” touch that it will pop up on the side of the screen you should see his eBay site in blue lettering. Hope this helps 😊
I am surely not complaining as you produce wonderful videos with informative content. I do want to let you know that I received a notification for “Let’s see the basement again”. It was marked as a private video so I couldn’t watch it. Do you have a paid channel as well?
No I do not. That was a “live” broadcast this morning open to the public. After the live was over it was not available for public viewing.
@@oldcuriosityshop265 Thank you for letting me know about the "live" broadcast. What coffee grind do you use for a percolator? I remember when stove top and electric percolators were all that my family used into the early 70s. I don't recall there being paper filters for percolators. The fine grind I use now would go right through the holes in the percolator basket that my grandmothers and mother used. The percolator is my favorite item in the video.
@@CC-.-.-.-. If memory serves, there were some for the percolators, you placed the filter over the spindle, there was a center hole, then you added the grounds and folded over the corners and slipped them over the spindle of the percolator rod to close them but man, that was a LONG time ago (nearly 50 years ago now as Mom migrated to automatic drop in the late 70's).
@@johnhpalmer6098 My family went to ADC in the 70s as well. The plastic coffee monster on the counter top. Chalk that up to convenience. I am no less guilty, I have a Keurig. Neither of my grandmothers nor my Mother are any longer here to ask about the filter. Thank you for taking time to respond. I feel a research project ahead of me as I really want that percolator. I recall how wonderful coffee was when I was allowed to take a sip as a child.
@@johnhpalmer6098 The wonders of the internet, that was a short research project. Thank you for letting me know that there were filters for the baskets. Melitta makes disc filters for percolators. They may not be the ones of our younger days, but they just may work on the beauty in the video.
