THAT WAS AWSOME GOOD FOR YOU .
Congratulations! I love Pyrex . I have 5 refrigerator sets. Primary Colors, Pink Gooseberry, Amish Butterprint (blue), Spring Blossom and Snowflake Garland. Thanks for your videos. You’ve taught me a lot.

Your Thrift stores are awesome, we do not have any that could hold a candle to the ones you shop in. Sadly we are in quarantine again until the end of month, might be extended until end of February now.
Holy ginger snaps!
My family was of the mahogany, cherry persuasion! I have my grandparents mahogany bedroom set from the 20’s or 30’s! I have never seen that blonde furniture before! Looked a little danish to me! I always learn so much from you Scott! Hope one day you will speak to your nemesis on camera!
You’re the sweetest! Thank you for all your respect and kindness towards others 💕🌹
Thank you......
I love Blond furniture, and the dinningroom set is divine! You are so kind to your nemesis, and relived her of that pink butter print pyrex. You are having a hot streak, Scott. Thanks for the giggle! Blessings. 💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹💜🍀🌹
When l was selling furniture, blond was the big fad. I used to drool everytime l went to work just looking at the new finishes. To bad l couldn't afford any of those lovely items. But such is life. Thank you for highlighting my humble rant. Blessing be. Peace! 💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀💜😇🌹🍀
Hi Scott, it’s 3am in the morning in the Uk (London) . I seem to wake up most nights around this time...😩 I then go down to the kitchen to make myself a cup of tea. Then look forward to watching you do your “thing”☺️... you always put a smile on my face, I’ve learned so much from you.!.
I better try and get back to sleep. Thank you again . And goodnight for now 😘❤️
Thank you in London!
Omg that blonde furniture. I would have a very hard time leaving it, even if I don’t need it. ❤️
Yes....it made me want to recreate an authentic 1940's dinning room!
If I recall, the only blond piece in our home in the 50's was a two-tiered square corner table, to fit between the sofa and side chair. I personally learned to not like blond wood, preferring the Queen Anne cherry.
yes! My Mom has a blonde Piano...
So glad you jumped ahead and got the Pyrex! I did the same thing last week, and jumped ahead of my nemesis at Savers. He proceeded to basically run, to catch up to me, and reached over my head to grab something. Luckily it wasn’t anything good. While he was reaching for that, I got a pretty pink Mccoy vase, off of one of the lower shelves. 😁
Oh NO....he was too fresh! I would smack him!
I found the exact pink Pyrex in a box at an estate sale this summer. Sold in 1 week for full asking just over $150.00. I got it for $1.00. The lid was missing so I found the exact lid with a different pattern Pyrex bowl for $8.00 on E-Bay. I kept the dish and sold the pink dish with lid. That was a win~win. So glad you found that and also in minty condition as mine was.
Oh my goodness. I Love the Thin man movies. ! And I would have bought the lone sugar bowl. Love the Art Deco sugar and creamer. So simple and pretty. That blonde furniture was amazing!! It’s so crazy that the furniture is so cheap. You’d never find it that cheap here in my area. ( Northwest NM).
I loved this trip! The thrift stores are packed with treasures! I'm so jealous!
I wish my local thrift stores had good stuff like yours! Can't wait for the haul video! Thanks for sharing Scott!
See you tomorrow!
When I was growing up, I was told blonde furniture was popular because it did not show the dust. Now I have my home in antique walnut, and I understand that rationale!
Hi Scott- Love that vanity!! Think all goodwill are getting pricey they know many people re-sell. My sister gave me a blonde bed set for my 1st apt!
Thanks so much for shower the manufacturers marking and giving us some history of the piece!
Your so adorable! Thank you for posting during these difficult times. Give Salem a kiss!
I love that blonde furniture! Thank you for sharing this-
Oh No!! That was the vanity of my deepest dreams 😣 What a perfect piece. I’m waiting to see the square based bowl in your basket. I’m thinking I will love it.
P.S...My mother would have loved your words “Our family was a mahogany family” 👍♥️
I should have sat at that vanity and brushed my hair!!!!!
Plot Twist: The nemesis is actually Martha Stewart 🐩♥️
Naa it's the crazy lamp lady lol..
🤣🤣🤣
I think it's the lavender 💜 lady..
😂
Oh, I am so envious of the beautiful older furniture you find in your thrift stores. I am in Arizona and it is very rare to see furniture like that here. Thank you for another wonderful video.
just watched part of a Myrna Loy movie today on TCM: "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House." as a teen, i had a big blond dresser with mirror. My turtle Paxton Quigley and his plastic paradise, and my gold fish and their aquarium sat on top of it. thanks for taking us shopping with you, Scott!
Love me some Myrna Loy!
OMG, the Pyrex!! I almost had detached retina 😉
Love the nemesis stories. I hope you talk with her someday. Keep your “enemies” close as the old saying goes!
I love thst vanity
so beautiful and solid too
Oh, that snowman was so obnoxious! I enjoyed everything else - so fun to see what you see and hear your commentary!
My Mother had a blonde bedroom set...she bought it from someone, probably in the early 80's. It was such good quality.
My mom said for some reason it was common in the late 40's and early 50's to sell dining sets with only one arm chair and 4 side chairs and consider it complete.
You are such a nice and polite person, also thank you for all the info
Oh thank you!
Loved the furniture store, that blonde wood is beautiful in my eyes, my parents had a bedroom suite made out of it, thanks for the video love going thrifting with you..
That vanity is to die for! It is so large, though.
I had blonde furniture in my attic apartment in college 50 years ago. Painted the bedroom alcove red.
Congrats on the great pyrex find. I hope it goes through the roof for you!
Thank you!
Thanks for giving me my vintage fix.Glasgow is in lockdown and it’s -3 Celsius. Can’t wait until the charity shops open again.Take care.😃
Another great video. Your voice and content are soothing to the soul. X
Wow, thank you!
That pyrex is amazing. I was five minutes to late to Goodwill one day and this lady got a complete set of Pyrex Balloons Cinderella bowls. I could have almost spit I was so mad at myself for dragging my feet that day. You should strike up a conversation with her one day. You might become good friends and work together to take over the thrifting world. Funny story. I did that with the lady who also seemed to get the good stuff as well. Now we will go thrifting together and help each other. We also trade items that we find. She recently gave me a set of Fenton hobnail salt and pepper shakers and two Fenton Wisteria vases.
Oh I am so annoyed with myself when I seem someone else's cart full of awesome stuff that I would have bought if I were only a few min faster! I know the feeling.
@@oldcuriosityshop265 The early bird gets extremely rare Pyrex patterns.
Love the Thin Man movies.
I’m happy you found the Pyrex bowl! It is very pretty. It would be neat if you have a chance to meet your nemesis one day.🤓
What a great shop along.
Thank you!
For young people just starting out, they could nicely decorate a home or apartment with quality furniture. I mean look at that blonde set! Anyone would like that. I hope folks understand that. Now you need a loan to do the same thing.
Right? For less than $200 they could have clean lines, real wood, and quality that has stood the test of time. Unlike anything sold by IKEA.
💜💜💜I liked the lamp💜💜💜
Wow! Good for you on getting the pink Pyrex! I have found a few odd bowls here and there but never any o the Pyrex pink. Even out here in Ca. people snatch up the good stuff! Thanks for the entertainment and education!
I love that vanity set.
Just sold some Madrid plates 35 Bucks for 4... Lucky find in my area I guess... You come across some great finds in your area Vanity Beautiful!! I always forget the color lol 😆 too
Having a nemesis of my own, good for you!
Loved the kitty!
Lucky you....I found a pink gooseberry cinderella bowl 444 for $2.99. My Goodwill has been loaded with Pyrex lately 😊👍
@7:26 What a beautiful piece but HOLY COW THE PRICE! That’s a representation of A LOT of the stores around here all together outrageous! And they are small to medium sizes. It makes me feel like they are sending people around to check prices at their other competitors. I should have kept my mouth shut at my favorite Salvation Army because all be darned if the prices didn’t start going up on everything! Especially furniture! That’s what I miss about the north! The amount of markets I found on the side with great prices and variety amazed me when traveling back to my hometown of Bay City, MI. Just in my own hometown alone was fantastic! @14:16 When you look closer it looked just like transfer ware. Trying to look like it isn’t but not well enough! Lol @16:20 What an amazing find! That’s in beautiful condition! @20:28 WOW!!! I’ve NEVER SEEN that in pink print! It looks fantastic and what a great price!!!! And it has the lid!
What I would give to have thrift stores like you have. That pyrex dish is a big score!!! I would love to collect it but I would have to travel far to find some cheap enough..cant wait to see what you found
Just found your channel. Found it very interesting. I live in NJ. I wish I could find the shops that you and Crazy Lamp Lady do! All the stores around my area really suck! Mine only really sell junk. ☹️I adore vintage furniture and knickknacks! Although, I would have gotten that snowman cheerleader! He was too cute!
Well hi KS and thank you for watching!!!!!
Thanks for taking me shopping with you. It was fun, you should of bought the cheering snowmen, that was funny. I like that pyrex, you scored. Thanks again 💝
Danish modern. We had it when we moved into our brand new little ranch home in the suburbs in 1955. We were so cool! (btw - have you checked out all the other folks on youtube who also buy and sell these pieces? Your nemesis has probably got her own web site. She may even be talking to her fans about 'the one that got away'!)
She might have a tracker on your car 🤔🤨😂😂😂
Ha ha ha yes!!!!!!
😂😂😂
🤣pink butterprint burn
Ty Scott
New sub. Im still learning. Thanks for teaching as you go.
Welcome!
Love that pyrex
50 years of picking and antiquing - I have never seen the plates in the “harp” pattern!
I love those floral cups and saucers. Like Royal Albert types.
She has a tracker on your car.
Oh no!!!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love that blonde oak dining room furniture, The great thing about that light wood is that the large pieces of furniture do not make the room look overcluttered,
So so true, Hippie!
super cool vanity!....you never find stuff like that in my neck of the woods...we had a 1950s blonde television set well into the era when my shows were proudly announced something like this: Bewitched: in color and Petticoat Junction: in color ....sadly, our blonde set only knew two colors: of black and white :---)
I hear Uncle Joe is still movin' kinda' slow at the Junction!
@@oldcuriosityshop265 ha! :----)
Ex
You missed a great Rose Medallion plate on the bottom shelf!
I saw that too Diane!🌹
Really enjoyed the trip. Thanks
Killer prices on the furniture. My grandmother had blonde end tables- one was for the corner and a high low shelf.
That mahogany table is a Duncan Phyfe style, right? I have one and it is my joy. I gave away my almost new 90s set to have my Duncan Phyfe, I found on Craigslist😍😍 I was also able to grab the hutch too. Hold onto something....I painted the hutch and it’s GORGEOUS. The table is next😬😬😬- not the top though☺️
It sure is!
I forget the sale colors too Scott!
Thanks for the video Scot
Hi Deborah!
👍👍👍👍👍🍀Thanks for sharing Scott
hahaha, I think we all have a nemesis, you are not alone! Great score!
Oh yes.....and I'm sure that I am a nemesis to someone else!
Cool video, thank you.
You always you finds great I team thanks for sharing.
I used to have a dog that killed talking toys! He just hated them. Yeah they went from Art Nouveau to what I called an Artistic freestyle. Probably a better name for it, but I also like it. I like the muted effect from Nouveau and it is usually affordable.
I really like wildlife ceramics, old or new, a major weakness of mine!
My cat hates rolls of Scotch tape! Go figure!
@@oldcuriosityshop265 yeah I saw the snowman and thought yeah twenty seconds tops! 🤣
I suppose we were cutting edge back in the day--my parents had some blonde furniture.
Painted glass vase with grapes is Bartlett Collins🍇🍇🍇
My grandmother had s blonde piano. She was a concert pianist.
I have a few nemesis on a selling platform i source on lol we like the same things!! Im sure theyve cursed me 😆
I never could figure out what those little plates were for ..now I know scott thx to you .it's for serving lemons .thx for information..love your knowledge..love always everything u pick and some u leave behind .my mom had a bedroom set of blond furniture..I always thought it was pretty as a child.
Beautiful vanity.
Hmm maybe Gemini Thrifts,I thought that thrift shop looked familiar and she does go to N.J.🤔😁👍 I enjoy your videos!
Naw.....my nemesis is about 75 years old and does not film.
@@oldcuriosityshop265 ok thanks she is for sure not 75 years old👍😁
Maybe that style of vanity could be called American Baroque.
Wow that vanity
Yassssss!
That frosted pitcher with grapes....could it be Bartlett Collins?
Oh yes....sure could be!
I wondered where the price was?? LOL GREAT FIND
Hi, Scott😂😂😂 saw that Hollywood set and wished I still had grams' Vermilion Rose (had a service for 12) always hated that orange rose though. Lol. Love the "brown" stuff!! TFS😂😊🎶
Oh we ALL wished we still had our gram's dishes!
@@oldcuriosityshop265 I do have my other gram's friendly village😊😊 oh, and btw I got my face slapped for using that c-word!!! The only time my mom ever raised a hand to me🤐🙄 lol.
Never liked the blond furniture! My mother in law still has a bedroom set, she has had it forever!!,I guess we all have different taste. I love pink pyrex. The shop along was fun.
good thing we havent gone shopping together. i wouldnt go churchill but i am really interested in that light grey blue mug in the earlier scenes of your video.
The thrift stores near you are sooo much more organized and nicer than mine here on the Treasure Coast in Florida. The shops here, mainly Goodwill look like 💩. Everything broken and no order what so ever. The prices bare all over the place, what should be high is low and versa versa. Whoever they have in the back doesn’t know anything about brands, or what has value, all a guessing game.
Good evening Scott
Beautiful video. There are such beautiful things in your thrift shops. Dont have anything that nice in my Chicago suburb thrift stores. Loved the vanity. How much was it.
Cosy by the fire and freshly shaven. Its the first time i have seen you clean shaven.Very nice. You are a mine of information..so interesting. What a selection you showed us.Thank-you.
I liked the bowl with the purple and the flowers, even when you turned it over to the ‘made in China’ sticker. You got to admit that the Chinese make some fine reproductions. 😉 I would not buy it either, but I think that a lot of stuff is going round, with the sticker taken of, that pose as an original don’t you think?
Meanwhile on another trifting channel: TriftingTonala talking about the guy with the hat that always gets ahead of her one isle and takes all the good stuff. He is always where she is, no matter where she goes. 😆😆😆
HA! I thought you were going to tell us that your nemesis was that lady who stopped you to ask which colors were on sale!!
I believe that was a man who asked about the sale colors.
Pretty and simple vanity
Just curious, what were they asking for the vanity set at the beginning of the video? I love it. We just don’t see anything like that here on the Oregon Coast 😔
I don't recall I'm sorry.
I had a blonde bedroom set someone gave me back in the 80s
Did you check to see if there was an amethyst punch bowl somewhere for the cups? I sure would have
OH yes....none to be found, sadly!
You would be so much fun to thrift with!
I have several serving pieces from Knowles in that same fruit pattern. If you get back to that store, I would buy the sugar from you.
Some of igloos like Heywood Wakefield.
Yes Madrid and it was reproduced in the 70s
Yes, the repros have '76 embossed on them so it makes it easy to spy.
Frosted pitcher with grapes 🍇 Bartlett Collins?
