One of your best finds IMO is that loooovely enameled dish. I think that may be Wisteria opposed to Weeping Willow. Ask David to identify your black glass bowl, what with his huge black glass book, he'd probably enjoy looking. Thanks for taking us shopping.

You’re correct, Scott. It is a wonderful hobby. It has me living life again. My husband passed just over 3 years ago. After I took care of business and then donated tons of things, I started watching your channel and others. I started going back to estate sales (my husband and I both loved to do that) and last November I opened up a little booth at an antique/vintage store across the street from the famous Mission Inn hotel in Riverside, CA. I have learned so much in the past year that even my friends are impressed. LoL I pick up books on glass from all decades and having the best time. Thanks so much for your knowledge and all your fun videos. You are truly appreciated.

What a great carnival glass score Scott! I've always loved the great examples Dugan made in amethyst! Although known especially for their peach opal carnival sometimes it's the amethyst and white pieces that are the show stopper such as this Question Mark Compote! These were in production from 1928-1931 per Butler Brothers Catalog! Thanks for taking us along on a great day of Thrifting!!!

My stepdad played Frankenstein with my great grandmother's china closet and buffet. He also took the doors off of the china cabinet. When I inherited it, my husband and I separated the two pieces and purchased some old turned legs for the china. Unfortunately, he also "antiqued" it in that awful 70s fashion. I had to paint it, after repairing the holes and reattached the doors, and I got to enjoy it for many years!

I used to do genealogy and searched pretty hard for pictures of ancestors- found plenty for my family but my husband’s ancestors … almost no pictures but I have been contacted by people and sent electronic copies of pictures and sometimes I have bought pictures from treasure hunters. Many times people sent pictures with names on the back to family members so two generations later the family doesn’t know who they are nor who to give them to.

Well, listen, you have to put them in the context of their era and realize that times have changed for the better. They might be slightly offensive to people today, but as caustic as they may sound to our modern ears, I don’t believe any harm was purposefully intended back in the days when those were manufactured.

@@oldcuriosityshop265 - I remember similar trivets hanging on the kitchen walls of both my grandmothers’ houses in the 50s.
