Also, what dimeter pipe exhaust you would recommend? Also, adding 2 mufflers will it help with back pressure or you recommend deleting the mufflers? - forget about the sound. Hideous? *!!* I have an '06 SC430 & adore that vehicle. Heavy, smooth, powerful, quiet drop-top boulevard cruiser and looks like a land yacht (after which they were actually designed). But I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But I love my SC...and the 3UZFE engine that powers it. You can't hear it at idle, and it delivers effortless smooth acceleration when called for.
I just recently got an amazing deal on an '02 SC430 and I couldn't pass it up. I absolutely love it. So quiet and smooth. It has enough power for a luxury daily driver. Super comfy. Tons of features. I used to think they were ugly when I first saw them, but now I love the way it looks.

I love mine too. It is the greatest car I have ever owned. What is ugly to one person may be beautiful and gorgeous to another. In this case, I am the latter. In addition to the looks, I love the engine, the interior, and the convertibility.
After talking to XAT Racing.... the sleeve are not an issue at all even well above 1300whp... they build these UZ motors and have yet to crack a sleeve even as high as 1800 whp.
I have a 2002 SC430 with 150,000 miles. It runs perfectly and gets lots of people that say they love the appearance of the car. Everything, except the speakers, in the car works perfectly. I will never sell it.

@@EBKFiXXYyeah but the 430 is governed at 130 and can’t swing it you gotta pull a fuse, the 400 can go 155 limited, can swing it without pulling fuses (not that they’re both made for it) and just easier on electronics. Imo I just think the 1uz is better than the 3uz

Many reviewers declared Clarkson wrong as it was awesome to drive, built like a high quality tank, rare, reliable and robust with an engine and gearbox so smooth you have to drive it to believe it. It was never designed to be a sports car as Clarkson suggests. Lexus designed it to be a luxury GT cruiser. With that reputation and knowledge of its purity I had to have one. I can now confirm It is the perfect luxury GT cruiser.
They look better the older you get. Eventually you get tired of the sharp angles and angry faces on cars nowadays. I’m even considering getting one for my dad as a birthday present.

In the process of building a daily driver BMW 5 series and I'm getting a 3uz swapped into it as the original engine blew with the previous owner. Don't plan on adding any more power to it so good to know that the 3uz is just as reliable as the 1uz in this use case.

my '05 sc430 is a great car. it's not a sports car people. my '01 gs430 is also a great car. both are like they just drove out of the showroom and run that way as well. i never have to fix either one. just drive in comfortable bliss. i would have hit the like button if you hadn't bashed one of the most reliable cars ever made. lol
Not really. They do share firing order, but the UZ are DOHB. Not to mention smaller bore. From what ive heard, LS sound more aggressive and guttural, UZs and Coyotes sound more "vicious" and sharp. Pretty much the only similarity is firing order and V8

I'm mostly curious, why do trucks get cast blocks? Is it something to do with have more weight up from so when you haul/tow something or is it because the block can withstand the torque it constantly
With cars you want to be as light as possible for handling but a truck doesn't need that. Iron blocks have the benefit of dealing with heat a lot better and hauling trucks tend to heat up more often. Iron blocks are just more reliable for the application
@shawn don I'm referring to dealing with over heating. You're more likely to end up with blown gaskets on an aluminum block vs an iron block. On expanding the iron block and heads will do better maintaining consistency, keeping gaskets intact. I believe he mentioned this in the 2UZ video
Probably 2uz. It was designed for trucks with towing in mind and has the biggest displacement of the three. But it weighs more and has a weaker bottom end.

I’m planning on taking out the 2jzge out of my is300 and swapping in a 3uz, which 3uz if there are different variants do you recommend? And will the stock 2jz trans mate up with the 3uz if not what trans do you suggest And how much money do you think I would need for complete the swap?
I'm doing a 1uz vvti in my is300 and it seems like there is only one 3uz but the harness may be positioned in a different spot compared to the is300 ecu box. I went with a gs400 1uz and it has the harness go right to the is300 ecu box and the oil pan is front sump on the gs400 so it will go right in the is300. For transmission look into a cdoo9 or an ar5 transmission. I'm running a ar5 transmission from an 06 pontiac solstice and it is pretty affordable and supposed to be about as strong as an r154. Ar5 transmission swap will probably run 1.5k to 2k

it is possible to keep the auto from the IS300 but you will need to swap some parts from the 3uz auto trans as well
