I had a teacher whose wife had cancer. A kid got upset with him and said at least my girlfriend doesn't have cancer. Mind you, we were in high school, and the teacher walked out of the room. This kid got rejected by everyone in the school after that and wanted nothing to do with him until the end of high school.
As someone who has lost multiple loved ones to cancer very quickly in the past few years, this is genuinely one of the most upsetting Dhar Mann videos I have ever seen. This is not just offensive, it's unrealistic and literally NO ONE would behave this way to a real cancer victim. He's one of those people who probably has zero concept of what very serious situations are actually like and his videos are just like fever dreamed stereotypes.
First of all I'm really sorry about your loss. As someone who has experienced something similar last year I know these hurtful feeling are not going away easily and I completely agree with you. It's really beyond me how someone can be so off track when writing a script. Even if you put in ZERO effort into research everyone's common sense should tell them that this is not alright and nobody would act this way. And as a writer I'm all in for creative freedom but videos/scripts like these make me want to put a limit on that and forbid creators going into certain territories (or rather from dealing with them in a certain way).
Even though I never experienced the same suffering or seen any of my family members suffer the same way, I hope that you are okay as that's all I can really say 🌺♥️

I had a classmate with leukemia back in like second or third grade and this was over a decade ago closer to two decades and still no one made fun of him. The worst he got was just people being curious as socially unaware children tend to be but no one made fun of him. I can't see how Dhar Mann thought people NOW would go that far.

The main problem with Dhar Mann videos is the fact that he basically says that you can just fix any problem you may have if you’re just really nice to them and don’t do anything, and for some cases you don’t, but if you’re going through cancer and is at risk of losing your life, and you’re being made fun of, why wouldn’t you punch them?

I had cancer and all my friends bailed on me except to ask me “what am I going to do with my stuff and my car when I die.” One even went as far to photograph my medical records including the pictures of my tumor and claim my cancer as hers so she could get attention and money. Another ex friend used it to cry to her other friends to get attention for herself. It woke me up and I realized just how awful the people I had in my life were. Went threw it all alone and I think it made me stronger. Now I’m actually okay being alone because it’s better than having jerks in my life. My own partner even would make jokes about my dying so I left him. I’m sorry you went threw it cancer is no joke and definitely not fun. I lost my kidney and had I been believed the 5 years previous I would still have my kidney. I hope your alright. Stay strong.
My aunt recently passed away after a 19-year-long battle with cancer. This video frustrated me so much because as you said, people don't act like this. My grandpa died of cancer when I was six, and I knew that it wasn't contagious...as any kid would. I had two people I met in my life who have unfortunately passed away due to cancer. One was one of my sister's teachers from 3rd-4th grade years ago, and the other was the sister of one of my mom's friends who passed away last year. It still feels so unreal that I'll never see them again in my life and it truly shows how losing someone to a disease like this is truly devastating. Watching this type of Dhar Mann videos reminded me of how bad his channel is and I genuinely wish that people would stop watching his videos for that reason. I had cancer 15 years ago. My kids were in school at the time and the whole school pulled together to help us through Christmas while I was going through chemo. Kids can be mean, sure, but they can also be awesome.
I went to an alternative high school and there was a kid who had no boundaries and made fun of a kid with cancer he got his ass beat every day until he was forced to transfer out even the kids that were in gangs wouldn’t leave him alone it really brought all of us together on a common cause no one let up until he was gone

My school had a kid with cancer who had gotten surgery to help with it, every kid in that person’s class bullied and made fun of them to the point they transferred schools/districts, no the teachers did nothing about it.

I had cancer 15 years ago. My kids were in school at the time and the whole school pulled together to help us through Christmas while I was going through chemo. Kids can be mean, sure, but they can also be awesome.

I had a cousin who had cancer and high-school and he got teased RELENTLESSLY for it. My little sister ended up in multiple fights bc of it all and when the teachers found out why she wasn't suspended the bullies were. They called him cancer boy among other things. At my high school, which for me was between 2003-2006, if you were making fun of someone that had cancer, you would've been doing that shit, someone would've tapped you on the shoulder while you were bullying them from behind, you would've turned around, gone flying, and NO ONE would've said ANYTHING.
