I’ve been watching these videos for a while now. Decided to go get fitted for a set of PXG irons after my wife told me I need to at least demo others brand besides Taylormade. The 0311 Gen 3 P irons are un-real as far as the feel! The forged iron doesn’t compare to my cast. It’s hard to explain the feel but it’s like as I’m compressing the ball the face flexes and then just launches it effortlessly. The “Players” iron they have is so easy to hit and has less offset than my current set and thinner top line. I’m an Army veteran and used the Heroes pricing . Never thought I would be able to afford PXG but guys I upgraded my shaft and 5-PW was cheaper than the new P790 irons. So not any more expensive than others but the feel is the best in the industry!
I bought a set of 0311GEN3 second hand, standard length with the True Temper Elevate 95 shaft. I used for about 40 rounds and they were not feeling right for me. I checked the PXG website and found that PXG standard length is longer than traditional standard. Also the shaft in R was too soft for me, so I tore them apart. Tipped them to play between R and S and made them traditional STD length. Adjusted the SW, now I have the clubs I want. Since I did the work myself I have the clubs for less than half of original retail.
You make me want to try them Andy, but that would be dangerous! I appreciate that Bob Parsons doesn't compromise on the design of these clubs. They are not for everyone, but I don't begrudge those that can easily afford them. If you love golf (as I do), you spare no expense to take one of the variables out of the equation.
I picked up some used gen 3 xp irons 6-PW on a whim. Graphite senior flex. They were so much better than my Ping i500s the pings came out of the bag. Soft, high, long and easy to hit.
It all comes down to if you like them you get them, you just have to save up for them. I have a full set of pxg Clubs and I’m a “ Normal person “ who just saved up for them. And they are fantastic and will last for years, my last set of clubs lasted 8 years so my new ones work out at £500 a year !!!
Krisi Boren great idea. If they do they are going right into my bag. I have the 0211 and I love them. I do love the look of the new irons but I also love the look of the 0211’s and the lack of the weights in them

Jack Henderson I appreciate that he didn't go on about the price. They're expensive. Everyone knows that. We want to know if they're any good. I spent $2k on MP-20 HMB with custom fitting. These are about 20% more ($425/club) - price includes fitting and tons of shaft options.
Jimmy Canzoniero well it’s nice to know an exact figure as in the uk hmb are £1000 and fittings are free where these are probably double and are overpriced
Interesting to see as I use the 0211 at present and looking for that better feel and less offset. Will be testing these in different shafts in a couple of weeks time. Know there folks in Scottsdale. Indeed play a lot of golf there. So excited to see how they measure up as I have tested many other clubs recently to find the set I like best and could last me years. Not found them yet but maybe these might be promising.
When I saw the release from PXG I was hoping that you would be releasing a vid on the GEN3 Irons. Very nice Irons, I may need to start building up some Brownie points with MrsBandit lol
I would love to try the st in 7-p and gen 3 t in 5 6 and a gen3p in 4. But the nearest fitter is 4 hours away by car And a fitting is 350. Does pxg just send a demo club so I can try them myself?
Andy I would be curious if you hit the Gen 2 against the Gen 3 and how much yardage difference. I have Gen 2 P and love them but at 63 years old every bit of difference helps 😁
Andy Currently gaming gen2 0311p and do like them. In your opinion if i was looking for more distance and higher launch without sacrificing feel do you think 0211 would do the job?

yes I'm happy with the performance just not with the size of the blade. Coming from my last set Edels Single length there is a big size diff. I would love to try out the Gen 3 or Gen 2 with a smaller head size.
Shame about the price. I think they sell a bucket load of these to the average golfer. Love how the look of the Gen3 is the same in the Tour, Player & XP and just the over all size changes. Would really look great as a blended set.

I'm never going to pay the price that PXG ask for their clubs; but they are benefiting the Average Golfer. PXG innovate and then the technology trickles down to the clubs of other OEMs. A great example of this is the hollow body technology. I wish PXG well even though I'll probably never hit one.
Hi Andy. They do look great but at $425 per club it's a joke. Especially when a year or two from now pxg bring out a new model and these gen 3 clubs are now worth $100 a club. 👍
@@TheAverageGolfer just wish they made it more available for Joe public. 8 irons for me would be the price of a holiday for me and the kids. Guess I can dream of a windfall or nick yours 🤣

@@pxg I appreciate that, but $425 is a weeks wages for a lot of people in the UK. So 99% of people can't afford to spend 2 month wages on a set of irons. If they stop the pull, push, fat and thin shots then people may break the bank but in general most game improvement iron are all the same. They are a stunning bit of kit but not for ordinary working class players
Andy Wood I don’t understand these complaints of price, they’re premium clubs and demand a premium price. They don’t owe it to you to price them in your range. There’s plenty of manufacturers making nice irons for a more affordable option. It’s like complaining that Ferrari doesn’t make a supercar for $40k
Really enjoy your vids Andy. However, $3000 for a 5-GW set, is unreasonable at any performance point for normal folk who have to buy clubs at retail prices IMO. Half that or less will get you excellent clubs and money to play 30 rounds of golf left over.

@@pxg I suspect you're right! It's going to hurt but... I'm looking forward to it
Great review Andy!
Cheers Gary
I’ve got the gen2 won’t be purchasing these but intrigued to know how big a jump forward are these
You already have great irons Sean
Iv got my fitting start of next month for these can’t wait!
You wont be disappointed Tony
probably right behind you once this tennis elbow heals, ugh
We can't wait Tony! You're going to love them 😎 ^A
Gonna get a set of these, just gotta apply for a second mortgage real quick...
Hey Jesse! Have you ever checked out our 0211's? They are easier on the wallet at $125 USD per iron. If you are ever interested, please reach out and we would love to have you test them out. ^A
UA-cam exclusive? They're pretty impressive from grouping point. I think I prefer the look of the gen 2 but I guess it's all about performance!
World Exclusive Jay😂
@@TheAverageGolfer mixing it with the big timers! The next time Andy Sullivan (European tour pro) rings a golf resort or hotel, they'll be disappointed when he turns up and not you, the UA-cam sensation!

Thanks
The tour looks exactly like the mizuno t zodiac true iron from the 90s all for only 4000 ridiculous
You may think that they have a similar appearance, but our new GEN3 irons feature our patented Impact Reactor Technology. It is what is on the inside of these ultimate game changing clubs, that really matter. If you are ever interested in testing them out for yourself, let us know. Prepare for an incredible combination of distance, with an incredibly soft feel. ^A
Awesome stuff Andy
Thanks Keith
T Zoid makes a return ☺, but great looking club
Although they may look alike on the outside to you, it is what's on the inside that matters 😎 ^A
I hated the look of PXG until know. They are stunning.
We appreciate the support Tod. Glad to hear that you are loving the #G3N look :) ^A
Great stuff Andy 👍
Cheers Rob, see you soon pal
Have watched a lot of your videos and enjoy them very much... but this one (and a few others) had way too much music in them. Keep up the good work like you did at the beginning and now. Please don't go back to that much (length wise) music
Great, play crapper, score better, the future for the average golfer.
They seem like great clubs. Like you, hope they can get the price down.
Hey Dave! If the time is ever right, we would love to have you for a no-obligation fitting to take them for a test drive 😎 ^A
@@pxg Will certainly keep them in mind.
Parsons truly is a genius at marketing.
He is definitely a genius
Seems like these are amazing!
Hard to knock
Come swing them and see for yourself :) ^A
@@pxg I have a fitting scheduled for next week!
I'm never going to pay the price that PXG ask for their clubs; but they are benefiting the Average Golfer. PXG innovate and then the technology trickles down to the clubs of other OEMs. A great example of this is the hollow body technology. I wish PXG well even though I'll probably never hit one.
Great mindset Chris
Hi Andy. They do look great but at $425 per club it's a joke. Especially when a year or two from now pxg bring out a new model and these gen 3 clubs are now worth $100 a club. 👍
The price is what it is, Taylormades new fairways are near £400 the price of all golf kit has gone crazy
@@TheAverageGolfer just wish they made it more available for Joe public. 8 irons for me would be the price of a holiday for me and the kids. Guess I can dream of a windfall or nick yours 🤣
It may not seem like it, but it has been 2 years since we released our stellar GEN2 Irons, and 5 years since our groundbreaking GEN1 Irons. We still do not release new equipment until we have had a notable difference in improvement in performance, sound, and feel. Our GEN3 Irons are 5x forged, and include a CNC milled back surface. Those processes alone, along with our new patented Impact Reactor Technology, are a major reflection of the price. If you are ever interested in testing these out for yourself at a no-obligation fitting, say they word and we would love to get you all set up. ^A
@@pxg I appreciate that, but $425 is a weeks wages for a lot of people in the UK.
Your right Ken but like I said nothing me and you can do about that
Great vid Andy. I’m scared to test them...just in case I love them so much I ignore the screams from my wallet
hahaha dont do it.......
I did with the gen 2 and my wallet screamed.... might be some more screaming coming as i don't think i can resist testing the gen 3
Nothing wrong with testing them out Jonathan 😎 Let us know, and we will get you set up with a no-obligation fitting near you. ^A
You smooth talker, PXG! Trying to make me go weak at the wallet 🤣. You’ve got me thinking, that’s for sure.
save your money. go with Mizuno, and never worry about it again.
worry about what?
The Average Golfer .,.Tom will never have to worry about not having the budget to buy PXG gen03 irons.
We can't speak to other OEM's, but always recommend you test out our equipment for yourself so you can see the differences. If you are ever interested, let us know and we can get you set up with a no-obligation fitting at a location year you. ^A
Tommy “ 2 gloves” Gainey has been a very naughty boy!

Be pretty sickening if you just shelled out pile of wedge on gen 2 to be outdated in a very short timeframe disgusting really unless your after second hand.
Almost 2 years since they released GEN02 Mark? Are you confused with another product?
Ok, still a short timeframe considering the price
@@markchurch629 a new car depreciates as soon as it leaves the showroom, you should never buy anything if your not expecting a newer version to come along?
Yes but part of the pxg attraction was they were NOT on the conveyor belt of updating models but it looks like they now joined the party BUT at 3 times the price.
@@markchurch629 I think as a manufacturer a 2 year cycle could not be described as a conveyor belt Mark? How often do you think is acceptable in your view?
