Yes, please do bc I'm at a loss w my goldfish tank right now😭. All my fish keep getting sick repeatedly over the last month. When I googled symptoms it could be all sorts of things. Doing salt works great at first but the symptoms always come back. I began using melafix but I'm scared to continue bc they're getting worse and fast.

Kevin thank you for posting this. Your video gave me goosebumps. Exactly the video i was hoping for a channel to post! Definitely something I would be watching several times in the future. Thanks for dumbing it down for us. I’m a big fan!
Kev, being as the Green/Blue Slime is a bacteria I'll put this here. I had both of my 55 gals. Cichlid tanks hit with this Slime. At first, I thought it was algae but soon learned what it really was. I dissolved 3 , 500 mg. Amoxicillin tablets in water and added it to my tank and let it sit, covered and in darkness, for 2 days. The fish and everything stayed in the tank. At the end of the first two days, I did a massive water change, approx. 75 to 80 % and then added 1500 mg. of Amoxicillin again., covered the tank, and waited two more days, and then another massive water change. At this point in time the Slime started to disappear like magic. there wasn't much Slime left on anything in my tank and my tank appeared as clean as ever. Meanwhile, my fish were doing fine. After the last water change when my tank was clear I did another massive water change and added carbon to my filter to get the meds out of my tank so I could get my Nitrogen Cycle restarted.Twice now this has worked for me and it takes a lot of manual work of removing the Slime away because it seems to melt away and disappear. It's been 4 months since my first tank was cleared this way and there are no signs of Slime returning anywhere in it.
Thank you! Glad you're finding the channel helpful! 😁💪 BTW, you should check out my new Aquarium Keeping APP designed for beginners! - ua-cam.com/play/PLP5OXTIIDO8MyRXOeOqhwzruSWFdhcaNh.html

This is great information and I'm thankful that none of my fish have gotten parasites or anything way worse. The only thing I ever had to deal with twice in my lifetime in the hobby it was dealing with ick and it was easy to deal with within a week
Dude...your videos are super informative and straightforward. You made one mistake in this video though....you said if you went into depth it would be over an hour long and no one would watch that. Not true at all! I know I would! If I ever need advise or stuck I always turn to your videos! Thanks bro!
Thanks for this video Kev! Unfortunately, I'm battling a case of columnaris, that I initially misdiagnosed and treated for a fungus instead. It's been an awful ordeal with mortality and am heartbroken seeing my fish suffer. I've ordered kanaplex and strongly believe to be on the right track thanks to you.
This video is SO helpful! I've watched it 10 times and have learned so much. I love Seachem products, but there are so many that it's overwhelming. Thank you!
I've just joined up cuz I love your videos! I'm a new fish person, I took some discus in for a friend who was moving, and you have helped so much with this scissor sharp learning curve. My fishies have developed a new thing though, and it's scaring me. It started with one, he leans sideways and starts shaking his head back and forth really fast, as seen in horror movies, just not as fast. He still eats when I feed them, though sometimes doesn't come up to get it from my hand like the rest do. It lasts a few seconds, and happens anywhere from every few seconds to a few times an hour. Sometimes after a particularly bad episode he just lays at the bottom, leaning heavily on the side of the tank. I've watched all of your sick fish videos, and haven't been able to find anything like this. Now two more have started this behavior, what the heck is going on???? Their poop looks good, water parameters in check, regular water changes, no spots or flashing but they do like pretty miserable :(
Hey Debora...for some reason your comment was in the spam section...sorry I missed it. So as a beginner I recommend never saying "water Parameters n check" or any other variation of that. There are many parameters to consider and in order for anyone to help, either here or in forums, or even in my facebook group, we need to know those exact parameters. Like Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, PH, temperature, Hardness, phosphates, silicates...all of those matter. 😊
Hi. I just came across of your videos. I must say, as a new guy on the "game" I found your inf very informative. Thank you very for videos. Keep up the good work
I use general cure mixed in the food with seachem nourish And Ich x together . I even had to use prazi pro a few times before the general cure . I had a nasty internal parasite problem that took months to get rid of . Fish were literally having the life sucked out of them . Happy to say they are finally getting healthy again
This is such a great and informative video, I've been keeping fish for almost twenty years but learnt a lot from this. Generally I focus on regular water changes, will quarantine noticeably ill fish and use Metaflix when anyone looks like they could be ill.
After more then 3 weeks of quarantine.. 3 days ago is when I finally start seeing signs of internal Parasites.. and possibly ich.. good thing I was already planning to keep them in quarantine for 2 months.
Thanks for the valuable video, 1) For new fish to reduce stress and prevent any infection. Do you recommend Stressguard or Paraguard? 2) And how long should it be used to avoid stress and infection in the tank? 3) What is the treatment for discus plague (turning black) Thanks in advance
You’re the man bro. I recently had a fish that passed my all black angelfish . I took him to my local pet store and they told me it was due to bloat that there was nothing I could’ve done and that it wasn’t my fault still feels like I let him down. What could I have done different, what are the causes of bloat and the remedies. Highly appreciate ya time
I used Aquarium salt, Seachem Stress Guard and Herbtana Microbiolift for parasites to help my fish get better from a case of swim bladder! She’s doing great now! Thank God! I also put API Stress Coat in the water too.
How do I remove carbon from HOB filter without compromising good bacteria when applying kanaplex? I use marineland right size E and C that have carbon built in. Do I just cut open the back and shake carbon out? Thanks in advance for any feedback.
How long should I use paraguard to treat ich? And should I be doing daily water changes when using or one big water change when I finish treat with paraguard?
I'm new to this hobby and I just recently got a fish and introduced it to my tank the next day it was scratching itself on the substrate. I'm gonna try using your methods. Hope I use the rite meds
Im so blessed that i found a very informative video.. i have a 2 flowerhorn, 1 have a something like bubble in his head, one has no appetite his head gets drop.. theres no white poof so i cant say it is a hexamita.. can i ask what i need to do??
Very nice! I have mostly API meds at home but IL have to stock up on some seachem as well. BTW i watched your video on 2x speed and i was still able to understand every word you spoke. Love it when I can do that with long videos. Doesn't always work though because sometimes the UA-camr has slurred speech.
Love this video, the only Medication not mentioned from seachem was sulfaplex, there's not much info about it, is it because it's just a milder version of there other Medications?
Hey Kev, How long ( days )I have to treat all my tank with metroplex and focus with garlic?, ( I have 17 mbuna , but couple have internal parasites I presume that the all fish's can be exposed to the parasites as well. Thanks
Love the videos, they have helped me out tremendously. One thing I haven't seen in your videos is light settings. I have they nicrew led light, what settings do you have yours set at.
Any recommendations for swim bladder diseas? One of my fish be swimming like crazy. Doing back flips, barrel rolls, completely upside down, in reverse and in a tornado spiral. I tried the pea diet but it's not doing anything. Also had the fish fast. He still eats though when I do feed him.
I'm doing your heat method with my tank to get rid of ich and it's worked like a charm! THANK YOU. I do have a question though - once the 10 days is up, everything in the tank is now "ich free"? Filter media and all? I'm going to be setting up a quarantine tank and would like to use some filter media to kick start it but also don't want to introduce that into the new tank.
That puffer has my dying laughing dude thanks for the video!!! I’m new to the aquarium scene. I have a year old angelfish as well as three upside down catfish I did have a bass of shark and a rare clown Paco. Sadly, I ended up getting a beta and I have separation screens in my tank, which is 150 gallon tank. I have it divided into 50 gallons. Then another 50 and 50. So each fish has 50 gallons, the beta had ick and gave all my fish shit so I’m now battling that using the super ick cure as well as slime coat and stress coat protection. As well as aquarium salt and a little bit of garlic. I also raise the temperature to 84° gradually. I’ll probably come edit and update this post in a little bit. Editing-->
Just got 30 new peacock/haps. About 1.5”. Some of them are flashing on the substrate. They eat fine and are active. I did notice one or two have white stringy poop. I dosed the tank with fenbendezole. I also gave them metroplex/focus/garlic guard food a couple times. But they still are flashing and just saw the white stringy poop on one of them. What to do?
Very nice video, hey kev help me out.. what if my fish looks sick from high nitrates what can be done I been doing large water changes the past couple days to lower just curious if there is anything I can do … thanks so much
Hey Kev, Any medication for treating swim bladder? Tried fasting and feeding peas but haven't worked... any suggestions? Can I use Kanaplex for swim bladder issue
For quarantine fish, you had mentioned using the combination of paraguard & metroplex. Do you dose metroplex to the aquarium or by feeding along with focus ?
Feeding Metroplex with focus is the BEST way to get them the meds. But during quarantine, when just automedicating as a precaution, Dosing Metro and Paraguard directly into the tank water will still get the job done. 😁💪
Thank you for the great video Kev. Would you consider doing a pleco/scaleless fish only medication video as i understand that not all medications are suitable for them? Thank u😊
Yes you are right. You have to be careful with all meds when it comes to scaleless fish. Dont use any of the strong stuff, just the mild stuff, like ParaGuard, general cure and metroplex. I'll try to get a video like this on my list 😊
This is a great video Kev! Very useful as I have had some losses lately . In your opinion, what type of infection can a firefish have if he has many black inky small spots on him . He seems fine with them for a long time and others don’t got them but I would really address the issue but don’t know with what.
Hey man, just want to start off by saying I have learned almost everything I know from you. I appreciate your content and it really helps. I woke up this morning to one of my peacocks looking very out of it and his fins looked rough. I came home from work and he had an eye missing and was severely sick. I just euthanized him and my water parameters are pretty close to perfect. I don't know what could have caused this and what I should be looking out for to make sure my other 22 fish stay healthy as they are. Thanks and I appreciate anything you have to say
Sorry to hear that bro! Sometimes it can be as simple as a physical injury. Could have scraped his eye on a piece of decor, or gotten into a fight while you weren't looking. If there's no other signs of disease in the tank I wouldn't worry about it too much right now. Just keep a close eye on everyone for a while.
Kev, I just started treating my mbuna tank for fin rot and flashing. Would it be safe to treat my tank with Paraguard, raise the temperature and double the cichlid salt level for 14 days all at the same time?
I wouldn’t double the salt…But yes you can use Paraguard and raise temp same time. Add more surface agitation though as each of these things will reduce oxygen levels.
Need some help Kev. I used Metroplex and Paraguard today. Metroplex says every 2 days to use as Paraguard says daily.. also says to do water changes daily before new Paraguard use.. if i do daily water changes will that hurt the benefits of Metroplex?
You DO NOT need to water change after Paraguard use. They are safe to be used together and I actually use them both as my "Quarantine Couple" for all new fish. 😁
This is a very informative video, professionally edited. You didn't really need the comedy relief it's easy to follow, even for beginners. (I have over 20 years of experience) When you say good stuff nobody should complain about the length.

As for regarding health generally majority of the fish look very nice, vibrant colour and swimming around well however one of the red Cherry barb is looking quite sluggish or at least down at the bottom of the fish tank by himself and not eating much mostly unlike the other community fish or possibly something red sticking out of it's underside belly lile bloat possibly??? I took him to my local pet store and they told me it was due to bloat that there was nothing I could’ve done and that it wasn’t my fault still feels like I let him down. What could I have done different, what are the causes of bloat and the remedies. Highly appreciate ya time
I used Aquarium salt, Seachem Stress Guard and Herbtana Microbiolift for parasites to help my fish get better from a case of swim bladder! She’s doing great now! Thank God! I also put API Stress Coat in the water too.
Great video Kev
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying the channel! 😁💪
Thank you. This video was extremely helpful. I am ordering some of these meds just to have. Thank you again. 💛💛💛💛
My pleasure! Glad you're finding the channel helpful 😁
How do I remove carbon from HOB filter without compromising good bacteria when applying kanaplex? I use marineland right size E and C that have carbon built in. Do I just cut open the back and shake carbon out? Thanks in advance for any feedback.
I was wondering the same thing! My HOB has chemical filtration built in, right?
Bro you make the best vids. I have a fish not eating right now so this was perfect!!
Thank you bro, glad I could help! 😊
How long should I use paraguard to treat ich? And should I be doing daily water changes when using or one big water change when I finish treat with paraguard?

My pleasure! Glad you found it helpful 😁

Amazing video, all in one . Thank you bro.
Thank you!! 😊
So much useful info in one 14 min video. Kev has got your back in the fish keeping game💪🏼
Thanks bro, glad you enjoyed it!
Any alternatives for paraguard? They don’t sell that here in Canada. We do have Polyguard though but that contains antibiotics
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
My pleasure, glad you’re enjoying the channel 😊
My Betta says thank you!
Thanks Ava! I appreciate the support! 😊💪
Hello, what is the treatment for leatherback fish? There is almost no medicine for them.
Very nice! I have mostly API meds at home but IL have to stock up on some seachem as well. BTW i watched your video on 2x speed and i was still able to understand every word you spoke. Love it when I can do that with long videos. Doesn't always work though because sometimes the UA-camr has slurred speech.
Wow first time I heard of someone doing that...Glad my speech was good enough for it 🤣🤣🤣
Love this video, the only Medication not mentioned from seachem was sulfaplex, there's not much info about it, is it because it's just a milder version of there other Medications?
Another great and informative video 📹 👍
Can i directly put paraguard at my reef tank? I have no quarantine tank.
Hey Kev,
How long ( days )I have to treat all my tank with metroplex and focus with garlic?, ( I have 17 mbuna , but couple have internal parasites I presume that the all fish's can be exposed to the parasites as well.
Thanks
Yes, you're right. Treat for 10- 14 days.
@@KaveManAquatics Thank you and Let's go
Much needed content. Great video.
Thank you bro! Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Love the videos, they have helped me out tremendously. One thing I haven't seen in your videos is light settings. I have they nicrew led light, what settings do you have yours set at.
My nicrew light doesnt really have settings, just on and off, if I remember correctly. Don't use that one anymore.
Great information bro keep up the great videos 👍

Which medication must be used to de-worm the Arowana? is regular deworming required?
Mannnnn your a G!! Thank you! 🙌🏽
My pleasure bro! Glad you found it helpful! 😁💪
What to do?
Best video yet!!!
Thanks 😁 Glad you enjoyed it!
Do we dose the QC couple for the whole quarantine period?
I would dose it for the entire first week. If no signs of disease then continue the quarantine without it. EXCELLENT QUESTION!
Great video Kev!!
Thanks bro! 😊
Hi Kave, there have any preventative medicine we can include during water changes?
I dose Metroplex every other month as a parasite preventative 😁
@@KaveManAquaticsmay I know how much should do for 55gallon of tank?
My betta has had dropsy for about 2 days. I ordered kana flex and metroplex. Will these work?
Thank you for the great video Kev. Would you consider doing a pleco/scaleless fish only medication video as i understand that not all medications are suitable for them? Thank u😊
Yes you are right. You have to be careful with all meds when it comes to scaleless fish. Dont use any of the strong stuff, just the mild stuff, like ParaGuard, general cure and metroplex. I'll try to get a video like this on my list 😊
@@KaveManAquatics awesome.... thank you once again Kev 💯
This is a great video Kev! Very useful as I have had some losses lately . In your opinion, what type of infection can a firefish have if he has many black inky small spots on him . He seems fine with them for a long time and others don’t got them but I would really address the issue but don’t know with what.
Thats tough, I've never seen anything like that so unfortunately, I cant help. Sorry bro
Treating ich currently!! Ich x and hogher temps, even a luttle bit of aquarium salt to help. So stressful
@@KaveManAquatics thank you for
The fast response
Hi I think my fish has bloat is Kanaplex the only one that treats that or is there something less dangerous to my fish. I think I caught it in time
4:14 ❤ auto-medicate PARAGUARD AND METROPLEX
The Quarantine Couple! (QC) 😊💪
This is a very informative video, professionally edited. You didn't really need the comedy relief it's easy to follow, even for beginners. (I have over 20 years of experience) When you say good stuff nobody should complain about the length.
Thank you sir! I try to add in a bit of comedy for those with very short attention span 🤣
@@KaveManAquatics Sorry, I forgot there is actually a scientific study that said half of the people have smaller attention span than a goldfish! 😊
