I agree. I’ve been wasting money on metroplex and what I mean by that is I’m apparently dosing the wrong way. I thought you put the number scoops of medicine per gallons of the tank. And I guess that’s if you are dosing the WATER! 🤦🏽♀️ I was wasting my focus and garlic guard as well. Damn damn damn! No wonder my fish wouldn’t eat that bitter crap! As many scoops of medicine I put they probably can still taste it. Got a few that won’t eat but maybe if I mix it right I can still save them. Glad I came across your video! Thanks for the post!
You have very informative videos ❤. I fed once, and one out of 2 angels couldn't poop at all after 1st dose in food she was very swollen, so I added peas later. She wouldn't eat the 2nd dosage because she didn't like it. So, I ordered the focus and garlic guard. I treated the tank until I received the focus and garlic guard. Your fish are very beautiful 😍

Watched this video this morning and found it to be so informative, I went and bought everything on your list. Love your videos. I'm a long time hobbyist who recently got back in after being out over ten years.
Hi Kev, "Lets Go". 😄😄. I'm a subscriber. I love your videos because they are easy to follow and understand. They are very informative as well. I have 2 Tetra fish that are not eating and I don't see any long white stringy poop coming from them. There are no signs of Ick either. The pink one is very active but the blue one spends a lot of time at the bottom of the tank hiding. The blue one has also become very pale in color with sunken belly. He will swim around at times. So I saw one of your videos on why your fish have stopped eating. You said to change the brand of food, I did to a more vitamin riched food with smaller pellets. I also ordered Seachem Metroplex and Seachem Focus. As for the Seachem Garlic Guard do you recommend using fresh garlic juice?? Also saw another of your videos saying that I can treat the whole tank, I only have those 2 fish anyway for now. You also mentioned Epsom Salt mixture can be added to tank as well with these above named products. How often do I do water changes if any and for how many days do I treat???
Thank you so much 💖 we're just starting out with our guppies and we lost 3 so far (1 before we had chance to name him, Jacque, and Shadow). Got medicine on route so we can try and save Jack, Mom (it's the school hols), and Mello 🤞💖
Right now the only sign i see of internal parasites is stringy poop and i’ve seen Molly, Paullie and Mr. Pac-Man poop like that. They all still have a very good appetite thankfully. I’m going to take this as an indicator to treat all my fishies and i’m so thankful for your informative video that shows where to begin 😭 i’d be very clueless otherwise.
My pleasure! If they only have the stringy poop but are still eating good, and no sunken belly, I wouldnt medicate. They could just be adjusting to the food you're feeding. Remember the white stringy poop is just 1 of a few signs....Hold of on the meds for now as long as they're still eating well.
@@KaveManAquatics thank you so much!! i will definitely keep a look out for the other signs and take action if i see any other signs. we just got through fighting Ick a couple of weeks ago and i didn’t want to medicate them so soon after that. thankfully all of them recovered from ick and my tank has been ick free for a few weeks now ☺️ also, thank you for taking the time to reply to my comment
Thanks, I figured I’d do separate videos on each disease and it’s specific medication first and then do one big general video about disease and meds all in one. What do you think?

Newer to cichlids and this video was recommended to me because I suspect I have parasites in my tank. Very simple to follow, I ordered all of the supplies and they're being delivered tomorrow morning. Crossing my fingers, because I have one that stopped eating.
Dissolve the medication in a smaller amount of garlic guard first and then add the food to absorbe the liquid. If it all absorbs into the food then add more garlic guard if you want to.
Do this treat ich too I purchased two new fish four days ago a shark and albino scavenger and now white spots are on all And my active fish are swimming to the top a lot not moving as much and swimming more towards The glass. I’m new to this only have a 10 gallon tank four small glo fish! I lost the new two fish already
Sorry to hear about the loss. Yes, this will treat ich as well but there are better ways like raising your tanks temperature, waiting for the ich to fall off the fish, and then vacuuming the substrate to get them out of the tank. thank you for the informative video and walkthrough of symptoms! In your experience, is it common to have worm-type parasites especially in bottom feeders, where you need Levamisole and not Metronidazole? I had some clown loaches with chronic wasting and I'm really worried which approach to take as I read it could be either worms or amoeba/bacteria
I literally just got into this hobby and you my man, has helped me A TON!!! thank you. I did have a question tho, do you disinfect the tank after the medication?
Thanks bro, glad you’re enjoying the channel! No need to disinfect anything with this method of feeding meds. Some meds, when used in the water, do need to be removed with carbon.
Hey bro! I just did it now to my mix African and American Cichlids! I hope this will work! if not I will try levamisole. But I have Question: Will this medicine hurt my plants?
brilliant video's,lots of excellent advice and knowledge, plus 9 year old camera man is doing fine, some o the best advice video's on YT, keep up the good work, top man, jay london
Kev I’ve been dealing with an issue for about a month now or a little longer. It’s my fault cause I didn’t quarantine a fish I brought home cause I’m like this one looks super healthy, I’m good. Stupid rookie move. Long story short, one of the first fish I had gotten started flashing on objects in the tank. She would go sideways and like yeet herself. By the end of the night, I seen like 2 more doing it. I started to look it up and it was saying either ick or flukes. I tried the saltwater thing for like two days and noticed more were doing it. I decided to just treat the entire tank (10 gallon tropical freshwater fish about 10 of them at the time). I tried API gen cure as directed, nothing happened. Tried again, nothing. Got prazipro and my corys I thought were freaking out so I panicked and did a water change about two hours later. I said I needed a bigger tank. Got a bigger one watched more of your videos got some seachem prime and stress got the tank started beneficial bacteria and put the fish that looked better into the tank and kept the 4 that looked worse in the old one to keep and medicate. The others looked better and I continued to medicate the last group. Appetites have always been good. I removed decode that they could flash and hurt themselves on. After a week they seemed to be doing ok. I moved them to the new big tank and they seemed happier but still keep flashing along with a few of the others occasionally. I’ve even tried coppersafe and have it in now hoping it might help. The one that started it has some lesions near her gills from her flashing. I put some api bacterial stuff in to help I think it’s natural cause it smells like tea tree oil. I seen like two others that have some lesions like that too by their gills but not as bad as hers. I’m out of ideas and I don’t have a vet near me that specializes in fish. I don’t want to lose them either and am really worried. Any advice? 🙏 thanks!
@@brittniebeeman2833 thanks for replying. Sadly I’ve lost 4 last week after I wrote this and I’ve got one trying hard to hang in for the last three days. I’m starting to wonder if this is a different type of gill fluke that’s needs a different. Edification or if it is resistant to. Most kinds. I e tried adding gen cure to the food to get it in their system as well. Worked for the first two feedings then they caught on….even did the garlic powder trick 🤦♀️
Got a question , hopefully you can help me , or any one in the comments can help also.. My fish eats tropical flakes, so my question is mixing all this with the flakes , won't on desolved all the way out .. Please help..Thanks in advance.
Thanks for subscribing!! This method is medicating the food, so just stick to your normal water change schedule. It wont have any effect since the fish are actually eating the meds.
I have been using the 1:5 ratio still even after the update. Fully just went by the video which was great! Ive been using this for 4 days and my question is. Do you think that will harm the fish?
I like your vids, and your presentation style. Lots of people swear by Metro, but I haven’t experienced positive outcomes. Although I have not been soaking as long as you suggested(I usually soaked for 2-3min). But I will try your suggestions, and see if theres a difference. Be well
reginald barometre Thanks! Appreciate the comment, definitely soak it for longer. Remember these pellets are formed with intense heat for maximum dryness. Give it more time and you’ll see the difference of how much liquid they can absorb.
This is so helpful. Just bought a goldfish it stopped eating was lying at the bottom I did medicate but it passed away. Should I continue to medicate my other fish that is healthy? It was in the same tank
Seachem has changed their concentration levels. Use a 1:1 ratio of metro and focus as stated on their new packaging** i saw this today :( at my second day of treatment. Thanks by the way maybe u can put a note in the video when u use 5:1 ratio focus with metro.. Thanks bro
Once again Thank you for your time! I just picked some Focus, Kanaplex, Metroplex and garlic guard. I opened each of the boxes. Metroplex had a very small amount in the bottle and Kanaplex had just a little more than the Metroplex. The Focus bottle wasn't full but much more than both of the already mentioned. Is this supposed to be like this or have I been gotten?
I watched a vet on another channel who said that it is highly unlikely that aquarium fish would ever have an internal parasite unless the fish were wild caught.
@@KaveManAquatics She said that she can remember only a single time that she saw internal parasites in an aquarium fish. She was implying there’s no way parasites could be present because most aquarium fish are farmed raised. Unfortunately her site has comments turned off so I would liked to have just asked if it was likely that parasite could be introduced with infected water. What is your theory about how farm raised aquarium fish could be infected?
Ive seen that video in the past. She's one Doc with one opinion. Watch internal parasite videos from all the top creators on youtube and they've all had to deal with it. But the choice to follow one persons opinion over anothers is always yours 🤷♂️ And i say "opinion" just to be safe, but some guys have videos of the living parasites in the tank after a fish poops...so theres that too.
You only need to remove the carbon when you are medicating the water. In this case, since I'm mixing meds with food that will be consumed instantly, no need to remove carbon 😊
I love watching your videos. Is it possible for your tank to have both internal parasites and Ich? I’ve seen some stringy poop, and my fish have pretty bad spots. Im on day 3 of treating with Ich-X with water changes daily, but haven’t noticed it getting any better 😢
Hi, Unless I missed something, just want to correct something on your dosing of the focus. In your demonstration you said its a 5:1 ratio, it's actually a 1:1 ratio with focus mix. lolol Just thought i'd point that out so you dont waste it in the future. Good vid bro. Bless !!
@@KaveManAquatics no problem. That stuff is not accessible in Canada unless its prescribed by a vet, so its liquid gold in this part of town. 😄😄😄 Bless up bro.

Good video bro. I look forward to an update on this. I hope you get rid of the parasites.
Thanks, will definitely let you guys know how it goes 👍
thank you for the informative video and walkthrough of symptoms! In your experience, is it common to have worm-type parasites especially in bottom feeders, where you need Levamisole and not Metronidazole? I had some clown loaches with chronic wasting and I'm really worried which approach to take as I read it could be either worms or amoeba/bacteria
Channel gold
Thank you so much I have a fish with a white poop not eating I'm going to try this to help her . I hope your fish made it OK how are they doing now
Thank you! This was very helpful for my platy.
Glad I could help! 😊
hey bro excellent videos as usual!!! But what about the parasites or ewgges in the water? how do you get rid of them?
Regular water changes and vacuums during treatment.
I have black convicts and they are losing their balance and cannot stay upright.😢
Thanks 👍 My boy will be happy to hear that! 😊
Yo I appreciate your videos. Keep them coming broski.
Thanks bro, will do! 😊💪
Hi sir, is there any alternative for Seachem metroplex because I can’t seem to find that here in Uae 😞
Any advice? 🙏 thanks!
I would treat with ParaGuard, Metroplex and KanaPlex!!
Hi there Kave, I really enjoy watching all your videos. Do you think this treatment can be given to fish as a preventative measures ?
Absolutely! I do about once a month.
Thanks for the info, Question for you. How often should I be doing water changes while doing this? I have subscribed to your site as well!
Thanks for subscribing!! This method is medicating the food, so just stick to your normal water change schedule. It wont have any effect since the fish are actually eating the meds.
Good luck with your fish brother! When we gonna get the update video on the bio home?
Thanks bro, 2 months to go to hit the 4 month mark...I’ll do my best to make it a good one 💪
Great video keep up the good job.
Thanks 😊
This is so helpful. Just bought a goldfish it stopped eating was lying at the bottom I did medicate but it passed away. Should I continue to medicate my other fish that is healthy? It was in the same tank
Ordering all 3 now! I used your links as well sir but your metroplex link isn't active. We ciclid parents have to stick together!!! 💪🏽
Appreciate that brother! And thanks for the heads up, will check that link right now! 💪

Seachem has changed their concentration levels. Use a 1:1 ratio of metro and focus as stated on their new packaging** i saw this today :( at my second day of treatment. Thanks by the way maybe u can put a note in the video when u use 5:1 ratio focus with metro.. Thanks bro
The update to the ratio is noted in the videos description.
Thanks for a great video.
Glad you liked it!
I disagree with that vet 100%
@@KaveManAquatics She said that she can remember only a single time that she saw internal parasites in an aquarium fish. She was implying there’s no way parasites could be present because most aquarium fish are farmed raised. Unfortunately her site has comments turned off so I would liked to have just asked if it was likely that parasite could be introduced with infected water.
What is your theory about how farm raised aquarium fish could be infected?

Dr. Jessie Sanders. Let me know what you think.
Many thanks to this video, you keep things simple and clear, how many times a day should I medicated?
My pleasure, just once a day is enough.
Question about the garlic gaurde
Nice info simply explained 👌 but did u take the carbon out the canisters while treating
You only need to remove the carbon when you are medicating the water. In this case, since I'm mixing meds with food that will be consumed instantly, no need to remove carbon 😊
@@KaveManAquatics thanks for the quick response 👍
No problem 😊💪
Great video!
Thank you! Glad you're finding the channel helpful! 😁💪
Thank you for saving my baby gurami!
My pleasure!
I love watching your videos. Is it possible for your tank to have both internal parasites and Ich? I’ve seen some stringy poop, and my fish have pretty bad spots. Im on day 3 of treating with Ich-X with water changes daily, but haven’t noticed it getting any better 😢
Great Info! Love your videos!💪🏻💪🏻
Thanks! 😊
Man, good stuff like usual
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I have a Betta who has a rock looking situation on his gills, i don’t know what it is please help.
Is find clampped at bottom and gasping at top symptoms as well I had 2 fish die in a day
Thanks Kev!
Hi,
Unless I missed something, just want to correct something on your dosing of the focus. In your demonstration you said its a 5:1 ratio, it's actually a 1:1 ratio with focus mix.
lolol Just thought i'd point that out so you dont waste it in the future. Good vid bro.
Bless !!
Seachem recently changed their dosing amount for focus. At the time of this video it was 5:1. But thanks for updating everyone 👍
@@KaveManAquatics no problem. That stuff is not accessible in Canada unless its prescribed by a vet, so its liquid gold in this part of town.
😄😄😄
Bless up bro.
oh wow lol I see why you would want to preserve it!
