yeah they do give good info, but the truth about water conditioners is you can make 2litres of it yourself for approx $2........99% of water conditioners are simply sodium thiosulfate crystal's mixed with water.

Great video, keep up the good work :)
When you talk about water conditioners, I realize of course your videos are mainly aimed at American viewers. However, it might be noteworthy that in some parts of the world the quality of tap water is much better. For example, tap water in the Netherlands is of excellent quality. No chlorine is used in the water treatment process because it's just not necessary due to the extensive treatment process used. If there's any present at all, it's because of other reasons and luckily at far lower levels.
(doesn't mean that I don't use conditioners, I use Seachem Prime)
My water company even publishes their regular water quality tests. For my home town, there's barely even any nitrate (0.97 mg/l) and nitrite is below detection levels (< 0.01 mg/l).

Stormfeather of ThunderClan i added the recommended dosage to my 55G tank. The bottle was sealed when I bought it so it hadnt been messed with. After adding the dosage I waited a couple of hours, tested for nitrites and nitrates and nothing showed up. Redosed it the next day and again nothing. My tanks ammonia was at 4ppm. (Added by fritz ammonia)
I bought seachem stability and the nitrites and nitrites showed up after first dosage. Kept dosing it for a week per instructions and took like a month for everything to hit zero except the nitrates (water change)

Rudy Zamora do you have any fish in there or have you added ammonia or do you “feed” the tank? Is it a planted tank? Sorry for all the questions just trying to help and see what might’ve gone wrong 😊

    • @rudyzamora5397

Stormfeather of ThunderClan it was a new tank and I tried to do a fish less cycle. There was no plants. I added fritz ammonia to feed the nitrites, but no nitrites showed up on the master kit. (Or nitrates) but it did instantly with seachem stability

And it was my first tank so i HAD to start a new cycle from scratch. So i used the beneficial bacteria from seachem

Prime for heavy metal well water.
Bacteria already exist in seasoned tank so don't need that.
Salt: I'm not killing my plants no no for me! Slight temp increase seems to help with illness.
    API leaf zone.
    API flourish micro nutrients.
I prefer to quarantine suspect fish and let nature take course and you'd be surprised how often they just heal right up.
That's bout it except food and test kits. My secret weapon when nitrates get a lil high and my well water has it high as well. Purigen pouches are amazing 😍😍😍

I wish I would have already seen this video before I ordered Seachem stability, it's going to arrive tomorrow for a new 10 gallon tank that I put 1 betta in with 2 small mickey mouse plates and 10 young neon tettra's. They have been in there for 3 days now. The whole learning about the nitrite cycle thing has freaked me out! I have had a couple betta's in 3.5 gallon tanks each which I do a 50% water change about every 2 weeks and have had no issues for a year now, They both look beautiful and energetic, I put a couple ghost shrimp in there also which they enjoy as well as 4 neon tettra's. I don't think those tanks ever went through a cycle. Anyways, I will keep doing what I have been doing with the very small tanks. The 10 gallon though I see that I should most definitely go through a cycle. Do you think Seachem stability will get me through or should I return it and order Fritz Zyme 7?

A person can use vitamin c to remove chlorine and chloramine. One 1000 MG tablets should be more than enough for a 55 gallon tank. Just grind up the tablets and add it to the water pre-fish and plants of course. Within minutes the vitamin c will neutralize the chlorine.

  • @46L482
    @46L482 Рік тому

I personal view, you do not need alot of the chemmicals you stated.
On water changes chlorine naturally evaporates in 24 hours.
The company is paying you, and you sell the the product.

So I have an iridescent shark who I accidentally touched while cleaning the tank and he freaked out and took off and hit his face on the glass. Now he has an open wound. I cannot remove him 🥺 he’s too big and I’m afraid to scare him more causing more damage. I just put the salt in the whole tank. I have a dozen other fish there AND catfish which I know salt isn’t the best for.
How would you handle that situation???

I order the complete and the guard from your website and received today. Question: when should you use one vs the other? Are should you use both everytime?

Your comment about the value of UA-camrs to the hobby is correct. Many years ago I quit the hobby due to lack of availability to information and accessibility to necessary products. When thinking of returning I scoured UA-cam finding yours and two other wonderful informative channels that gave me the confidence to return to the hobby. The two of you and others sharing your expertise is invaluable to the hobby. Wholesalers who can’t see that are blind.

if you are using anything other than just water conditioner you are doing it either wrong or you are lazy and cheating, there are no chemical supplements in nature, just my opinion though.

My well water is off the charts with nitrogen. Surely it is not healthy or feasible for the fish to have these chemicals( Fritz complete)in their tank indefinitely ??? Please can you respond
