Probably one of the most comprehensive reviews I have heard on the topic of hearing protection. I was very intrigued in hearing about how accurate the directional sounds were on these and I am glad that you clearly stated, "hearing is subjective". You give us the opportunity to find out for ourselves, rather than shoving this down our throats. Solid work sir!
Just put an order in for these with gel cups. The reports from you and others that these work with hats is what finally sold me. I've got a lot of boonies and hopefully these work with those as well as my helmet.
I ordered a pair of the Sordin Supreme Pro-X last night. I’m also a bit of an audiophile, although I have pretty bad tinnitus. These Sordins are my Christmas gift to my ears lol.
Heads up Sordin did a upgrade this year, Hear 2 they call it, never tried Comatcs or other high end stuff personally but this feels super damn nice and CRYSTAL CLEAR
Had mine for years. Been through rain, snow, and hot weather /humidity and they always worked with no issues. Tried others and I always go back to my Sordins. Nothing better than the sound quality and directional sound than the Sordins. Battery life is amazing as well. Well worth it.
I just received my Sordin's from Lamnia today. 2 day shipping to Arizona from FINLAND for $7. Incredible. Absolutely recommend Lamnia for your next purchase. I tested the Sordin inside and outside my house. Will test at an indoor range this weekend while testing my new subsonic 9mm loads :) Testing so far, already FAR better than Peltor Tac Sport and Walker Razor. (chinese-made crap) Gel Ear cups a MUST HAVE for the Sordin. WOW comfort. Only downfall is the stupidity of the battery compartment.
I always heard that sordins were great, I knew the gell cups were the way to go. I had no idea how incredible they would work. It’s one of the few purchases I’ve made where I didn’t do hours of research. Not disappointed.
Based on your recommendation, I was looking to get a pair of the Sordin Supreme Pro-X. However, around October the wife started inquiring about a possible Christmas present. She wound up getting me the Swatcom Active8 behind the neck headset. You are right, they are awesome...and I have a GREAT wife.
@@mrhounddog8271 SRS is the only place you want to buy from. In fact, they may be the ONLY place you can buy them from. I've never looked anywhere else. I've been doing business with SRS since 2008 and will never go anywhere else for my hearing pro.
I won't lie, this has helped my confirmation bias. I just feel like at the pricepoint, Supreme Pro X's should be a required piece of kit for every serious shooter. They're fantastic and right on par with more expensive offerings. If you don't need comms, they're the answer. If you need comms, they may still be the answer because they sell a commo upgrade kit too.
I emailed Sordin but did not get an answer so I'm wondering if you can tell me on my new Sordin Supreme Pro X LED's have 3 modes from the power button: OFF (when held down), ON with superman hearing like you describe, then ON with a more muted way in that you can't hear your hands rubbing together or keyboard clicks. Why is there that additional setting and what is it? Thank you.
Do the gel pads have to be purchases separately? I'd be using these for construction, to be within OSHA regs, and the seal around the glasses is also important
@@Tier1Citizen I found the option to purchase them with the gel cups. Compared to my Howard Leights, these things are WAY more comfortable. Thanks for doing the review and letting me know about the gel cup option. I used them when I went shooting and what a difference! I forgot they were even on my head, until I took my hat off haha.
Can you wear these without the headband? So take the headband off and just wear it on the back? I assume they would still stay on without having to wear any band on top of the head. I hate wearing anything on top of the head when shooting.
Thanks for the information, I have been thinking about getting a decent set. Back years ago when I was younger I have done a lot of shooting with no ear protection. I don't know anyone that used hearing protection ( Sad but true ). I do use hearing protection now and have for years but a good set without spending a million dollars I don't have would be nice.
Hey Abner-- I'm extremely protective of my hearing (musician too!) and I double up when using passive ear-pro, i.e., passive headset + foam ear plugs. Most of my training is in an indoor range, group classes, AR15, etc. With that in mind do you think I'll be happy with these? Thanks!
You will be very happy with them. However, if you're shooting in an indoor range you definitely want to double up on ear pro. Nothing is rated for that level of abuse.
Would they provide good hearing protection during prolonged constant exposure to loud noise such as a engine or saw running.....I would like to get a pair that I could use for work along with shooting
Yes they work for loud machine work. In fact I wear mine while mowing so I can hear what's going on around me without being worn out by noise abuse. If you're interested in these you're welcome to them for $279 shipped. They're still brand new and have really only seen use like 5 times since I've had them. I have four pair, I don't need these. If you're interested in them just shoot me an email at tier1citizen@gmail.com
Why do you need to buy a bag? You never finished your thought. I’m looking to pick a pair of the Pro-X LED up and I have the option to spend $40 for a bag from SRSTactical. Sounds like you are saying this is worth it, looking to know why.
These are so worth their purchase price. Also, the reason you need the bag is because it protects the muffs from being bumped on and from the gel cups from being poked by stray objects in your shooting bag.
I always hear people say that sordins are super expensive but compared to other high end headsets like ops core amps and other such these are cheap as fuck.

Phenomenally helpful and detailed video, thank you man!
Glad it was helpful!
Great review, with important info not found elsewhere. Thank you!!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you Sir, for the great down to earth honest review of this headset.
My pleasure!
Just picked up from Amazon, should be here today, I’m more excited now that I saw this review. Reddit led me to these, glad I found them.

@@tonytreece922 SRS Tactical in Florida. They are great folks.

Mine turn on and the volume keys run the sound levels up and down. I don't really have "settings" to speak of.
@@Tier1Citizen that’s why I’m wondering why mine has a 2 position “On”. When I hit it, the sound changes. One is Superman, one is “muffled”
Yup. I gottem. They're pretty good, but I have the old pair from probably 7ish yrs ago. Still work good.

You would need the head band. The back wire isn't strong enough to hold up the weight.

Any experience with the Safariland Liberator HP2.0?
No I've never tried their hearing pro.
These should be great for when I play with my Micro Draco at the indoor range 🎯
Double wrap when you go to an indoor range. Plugs and muffs dude.
@@Tier1Citizen Will do. Thanks.
How does it work under helmets? Do you know?
It works well because the strap is very flat. This version was specifically made for helmets.
