Hey Abner, just got back from the Vet class at Gunsite, where I used my Swatcom headset. I was able to hear all range commands over all shooting, as well as listen to side conversations between instructors and students. Best of all, I was able to hear a defective round (sounded like a cap pistol), which made me cease firing to ensure a clear barrel. I also wore them all day, every day for 5 days with complete comfort. These things are GREAT.
Do you prefer the headband/neckband version, or the simple headband? I'm thinking of investing in a pair of these and am interested in your opinion. If you gave your opinion in the video already, I apologize.
@Tier1Citizen Thank you. I don't own a helmet, but I might go ahead and get the neckband set anyway. I might eventually invest in a NODs/helmet setup in the future. If not, I haven't really lost anything, but will still have gained an awesome headset. Thank you!
Any thoughts on over the head vs behind the neck? I’ve been rocking the behind the neck version of the sordin supreme pros for years but thinking about the over the head style after seeing folks clamp them on their leg or arm for years in class. I don’t work in a profession where I need a Kevlar on anymore but I might still set up a helmet with muffs at some point for the zombie apocalypse.
Going to order me a set based on on the good reviews and videos on the SWATCOM'S. Been using Peltor 300 and they are good but not on the SWATCOM class. My hearing sucks from 30 years of firearms training and SWAT.
Hello since you have experience with the sordin supreme x besides the waterproofing is the audio / perspective improved or the same as the msa/sordin supreme x?
So when plugged into a radio, if they’re left on the whole time instead of turned off as you discussed at the end of the video, how do they act? Does the attenuation still work well if, say, I’m responding to a riot and still need both my situation awareness and need to be able to hear comms?
Yes the coms come through clearly even with folks hollering around you. Screams are loud enough to trigger the audio suppression. The scream aloud to be loud enough so that you know you're being screamed at but now so loud that it hurts your ears or over rules the coms.
Great review. I bought the actives. Should have them in a few days.

Boom! Mission accomplished :)
Just bought the same neckband model. Their simply awesome. Thanks for the great review!
Is it best to get the neckbaand one? How is it better?
I ordered these from SRS tactical and they are out for delivery right now. Can’t wait to try them out
Sweet!
I just placed an order for SWATCOM Active8 ear pro based on this video; I'm hopeful that these are the ear pro I have long been searching for.

I like the headband version. However, if you want to wear them under a helmet get the neckband ones.

@Tier1Citizen Update: Just bought the neckband model along with the SWATCOM bluetooth neck loop. Super stoked to try them out when they arrive.

It truly comes down to user preference.

Am I best to get the headband one or the neckband one? Pros cons?
It's all a preference thing. Over the head is more comfortable unless you have to wear a helmet, then I would go with the neckband one.

The audio is much better now with these.

is the audio way better than the sordin to justify the price differences? is the 360 sound just a marketing gimmick?
Nope, it's the real deal. And no, I'm not getting paid to say that, and I buy my own ear pro too.
@@Tier1Citizen i cant decide to go with these or sordin
Watched both videos swat8 and sordin. Which set is your first choice ? And why?
SWATCOM's because they're waterproof.
Thanks
Have you tried peltor comtac 3,4,or 5 I was looking to buy swatcom or comtac
Everything I've ever tried from Peltor has been subpar.
Just to clarify, with an external audio source plugged in. You still retain ambient (situational) sound input?
Yes but what's cool is that you can cut the mics off and still hear your coms, then bump the mics back on again. Yeah, that's kinda slick.
