Here we are four years later and the P365XL/macro have officially become LEGENDARY status!!! In 2024 It’s STILL THE BEST 9mm pistol oz to oz, highest capacity to super thin subcompact size, great nightsights, amazing stock trigger, and all with Glock reliability… I’ve carried an XL everyday for 2+years now, and it’s been an absolute DREAM of a pistol, so much so I bought a second XL this time with a manual safety and have trained to love it even more and be just as fast!! It’s so comforting to QUICKLY re-holster a manual safety gun without worry of a shirt or something getting caught in the trigger guard causing a negligent discharge(especially appendix carry) true peace of mind!!! With a Magguts flush mag extension I’m packing 15rounds(14+1) FLUSH in a tiny thin subcompact pistol I can easily 4 finger grip which makes it feel like a regular full size, it’s really a magical MUST OWN pistol even all these years later!!!
This video just came up in my recommended! Makes me homesick for Melbourne. Frogbones is awesome. The only problem is they don't want you going back to the range after you've been drinking at their bar.
Mike, you should make Harry the same offer to borrow his p365xl... You can prove his p365xl is fine, just like his first p365 was for you, for 600 rounds- after a simple cleaning and lube by you!
I own both the p365 and just got the xl. And in all seriousness I really appreciated the mud test as someone considering carrying this gun. As ridiculous as it is lol it does give me confidence in the reliability of the gun even in the worst possible situations. So far I've put about 500 rds thru my p365 and maybe 250 from the xl and zero malfunctions. Seems Sig has really worked the kinks out of these guns!
Why not put the gun in the mud with a chambered round like it would be carried. Makes no sense to put it in the mud then take it out and chamber a round. Of course torture tests make no sense anyway.........
Mine drops the slide like the one in the video did about 50% of the time. Also the springs are so tight I can't drop the slide on an empty mag. No performance issues...love the Xl
Also ...any holster suggestions?never tried IWB.Bought a kore essentials belt .think with this slim gun & the kore belt it may possibly work out.thinking hybrid or leather if IWB.or good ,snug, mid to high OWB .a lot of questions I know.have a feeling you guys know what works a lot better than me.thanks again for any advice
Hope you can help me out.now that Sig is selling the XL with Red dot already installed I'm trying to figure out the most economical way to buy an xl ,try a red dot for 1st time(3 made that fit ?the gun)& have a plate & the rear sight to use when I want.?.I'm looking online but haven't figured out if rear sights & plate come in the box with the model shipped with Romeo zero installed. I'd appreciate y'alls opinions on all that .thanks. Burke Wills.NC. PS.mud isn't necessary.nice clean shop & range.
Just get one with the romeo zero (if you can find it) I got one last week for 750 total shipped and transferred. It will save you a headache of finding plates (which you don't need) and everything else. Red dot is just bolted on the slider.
It has an optional thumb safety. When I ordered mine it didn’t specify but showed up with one. Personally I think it could be moved forward a tiny bit but I rarely use safeties so it’s not a big deal for me.
Don't really need the mud test - it's hardest element test to get consistent and least likely to happen. Limp wrist testing is good/necessary to keep up, maybe some timed performance comparisons, possibly a dirt test. Good videos guys
I have the 365 it’s a first run gun had to change the striker now I own the new safety version at the same time bought the 15 round mag nothing but trouble with the mag won’t feed jams up follower about 3 rounds from being empty almost every time cleaned it still sucks it would be nice to buy a sig product that doesn’t need some sort of extra work out of the box please do something about your products
Pull the follower out and hit it with 220 grit sandpaper followed by 1000 grit. Smooth it especially in the area of the mag catch holes. That's where it hangs up on the first run mags. it's a 5 minute fix.
We will pass along the shooter feedback to the SIG representatives we deal with, we are simply a veteran owned, family run gun store hoping to give you the shooter an inside look at the capabilities of popular guns that different manufacturers bring to market.
Mike, congrats on the obvious weight loss and big improvement in fitness, brother! Nix the mud tests- waste of time because the variability in the tests themselves render the results invalid.
Thanks! Great points! Our hope is to give shooters what they need to know so they can make the educated and informed decision on what they’re looking for in their next firearm, always looking for the most value added solution
Hey brother, no criticism here. I think it would be safer for you if you protect your face with a transparent face shield when you shoot the gun in any unusual configuration, just in case!
The 800lb gorilla in the room, is the fact that you can simply buy a 12 round magazine for the original. The 10 round mags are available with a pinky extension as well. The P365 can be made larger, but the XL can’t be configured into a smaller pistol. That doesn’t mean the XL isn’t a good pistol, and I’ve been looking at one for the past couple weeks.
That would be a good argument if you already had a P365. I just picked up an XL after carrying a shield for years and it was everything I was looking for. The grip width is more comfortable (than the shield), I can actually put my pinky on the weapon without having to have an extension, it has more rounds, it has the upgraded trigger, and any printing really isnt that big of a deal beyond normal. If youre jumping in I think the XL is just the better gun.
Sweeping and fingers on the trigger during slidepulls galore...dudes ??? Fun to watch the mud test though....more of those - as long as you don't do what MAC does and make the whole gauntlet plus put on a poncho and full facemask to avoid the splatter.
I watched the whole video, but may have missed that. What's the time stamp when it allegedly hangs up? (if it was because of the mud in the test, that doesn't count, because it likely would've kept most pistols' slides from closing).
Sigs seem to have a lot of issues with mud. I know they’re good shooting guns, and i know im not realistically gonna drop my gun in mud, but i want my gun to be able to handle it. Every single sig the Mac channel reviewed did poorly in mud sand and dirt. No thanks. Im not spending 700 to 1000 on a gun that cant get dirty.
Mud is important for a soldier’s rifle. It’s exposed for days to the elements. A citizen with a concealed carry weapon should never see mud. Sweat, salt water and moisture in general is the CCW’s concerns. I’ve come from Glock to S&W to Sig. I’m new to Sig so very concerned about reliability. Double stack Glock and S&W Shield are super reliable. Sig, I hope so.
No need for a "Mud Test" to get it to Malfunction ...... It's been My experience that I'll Malfunction Just Like that Right outta the Box....and most evey Mag there after! Mine is going back to Sig
I think the mud test is stupid. It is possible I might drop my gun in a conflict, but I'm not in the military, I'm not LEO. The chances of my dropping my weapon in a gun fight are less than my being in an actual gun fight. My guns belong to me and I do not plan on trading them very often. Therefore it behooves me to take care of my weapons..
i JUST BOUGHT THE 365XL WITH THE ROMEO ZERO SIGHT FROM THE FACTORY AND WHEN I GOT HOME I LOOKED IN THE BOX FOR THE PLATE AND REAR SIGHT NOTHING CALLED SIG AND THEY DO NOT SUPPLY IT WITH THE GUN AND ALSO AS A BONUS THEY DONT SELL IT .AS A PART NICE JOB SIG ON ANOTHER WAY TO SCREW CUSTOMERS AGAIN I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED THERE GUNS BUT IM SICK OF THERE BIZ. NOT THINKING ABOUT THIS KIND OF CRAP.
Of course keep the mud test. You never know if, or when circumstances may put any firearm in the same type situation. The mud test is a good data point to have an idea of how she’ll run full of ? riverbank muck when it gets knocked out of your possession, you scramble to retrieve it and she still runs or not.
Give it up SIG!!! Your 365 and 365 XL is still having issues! Would never trust this gun with my life! Even the current production regular 365 is having horrible primer drag all the way to the edge of the primer to the brass. And the XL is having failure to go into battery issues and failure to eject issues. Great paper weight guys!
0:14 LOL "awesome" and "Sig products" don't belong in the same sentence! Sig is garbage these days; you never know if your Sig will run flawlessly or be broken right out of the box. They have no quality control whatsoever.
We can do another review across other SIG products! As the SIG320 and SIG365 have different specs they have different feel and application. The P365 and P365 XL are primarily used for IWB/Concealed Carry applications and personal defense while the versatility of the P320 platform allows for OWB/Duty Carry as well as IWB/CCW depending on your garment choice and environment you’re intending to carry the firearm in. Both have excellent manufacturing and are able to scale and apply different grip modules by removing the fire control unit and changing the grip module. Excellent products from SIG SAUER that are versatile and modular, leading the way in firearms innovation.
No need for the mud test. Can you do a comparison with the X-Compact and the XL?
Great idea! Follow our Instagram for sneak peeks as we film more content!

Tim, are you a stocking Sig dealer?
They don't remember whose ideal it was to put it in mud and shoot it.. i can tell you the answer to that.. I bet m.a.c. can also, lol
P365's run away when they see you coming!

Thanks for comparing the 15rd with the G48. Not much more height for 5 extra rds
P365xl is lookin awesome, just like the p365!

Need to get a plastic poncho and visor like Mac for your torture tests!
Great gun and now my EDC. Love this gun that is so easy to carry. Great feel to it and so accurate right out of the box!!

This is a perfect carry pistol
We need the mud test
Awesome review. I subscribed just cause of the mud test. Video gamers don't drop their guns in mud, but this is reality.
Thanks for the support! We’ve got more videos dropping shortly!
I think the mud test says a lot thanks for the video
Good video guys!! Subscribed! Ugh!! Damn another pistol to buy!! Woooooohooo!

When do you think we can get the XL grip module?
Hard to say, I’m sure stipplers around the country are chomping at the bit for it
I am having the hardest time finding the 365 XL OWB holster. Can you help?
Well done, thanks for sharing..

Does it have a safety lock

It looks really shootable. In your opinion more than 43x/48?
Depends on who you ask Mike likes the Sig, Jason likes the 48. But they never agree on anything 😂
Other than Sig Sauer what are some good companies to stay away from

I don’t think you should have to sand it to get it right for the $50 but that is my opinion. I do love my 12 round magazine
We will pass along the shooter feedback to the SIG representatives we deal with, we are simply a veteran owned, family run gun store hoping to give you the shooter an inside look at the capabilities of popular guns that different manufacturers bring to market.
Are they going to put a manual safety on the XL??????
Only time will tell!
Love this gun, but not the flat trigger.
Considering what they did to it I think it did pretty good... I mean not realistic testing lol so it’s ok I’ll take it
How does it shoot?
Badass gun
Awesome pistols.
Lmao, dude you never played in the mud before were you were a kid.
Just because you made the comment about the new shirt I say keep doing the mud tests lol
How about a full on MAC gauntlet test? 😉
$579?? The local guy here was just asking $630 before tax. Would have been nearly $700 had I bought mine there.
Got mine for 750 with shipping and the transfer with a romeo zero. Rona sucks.

No mud test .
No malfunctions ? It was clogged or gummed on the first round, had to be pushed into battery . No mud test , they are a waste of every ones time .

I've got about 300 rounds through mine, no drag....

I've seen a couple of video's showing the slide of the P365 XL getting hung up for some reason. Including this video! Any reason to why this happens.

no more mud test. Maybe water caus you could be out in the rain and have to defend yourself but no mudd....
The most important thing we need to know is if sig fixed the primer drag from the firing pin.
lose the goop test.
No mud test, gauntlet test is a gimmick and for entertainment only.
