Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
I have bought the blue version, but I want the orange version next. It sound better than the echo dot, but not as good as the echo. Can’t wait for Matter to launch this year which should sort out the compatibility between all the different systems. Only time will tell. 👍🏻👍🏻
I have an eco dot and home pod mini. I use the eco dot strictly for controlling my tv while my HomePod is used for listening to music, reading messages, checking the weather, etc. sometimes I even use it as an airplay device when I want to watch a movie on my iPad. I really love the mini, not too much for me to complain about

The intro music is the same as a watch channel. Time piece trading I think. Don’t know if that causes you any issues. Thought I’d point it out. Great channel 👍
I've got 2 OG homepods linked as a stereo pair for use with my apple TV which is the primary method of media consumption in my living room. It's also great for airplay/apple music requests via siri, filling my apartment with sound.
Love the new intro and the video! The only reason I use google home speakers instead of HomePods, is that HomePods doesn’t come in Swedish. I want my kids to be able to speak to it as well. Sense we are iPhone/iPad users it would be great to have HomePods at home as well! Keep up the awesome work 👍😄
@@hindrikson Yeah, in my home we use the homepod minis for intercom and music playing, but I've experienced similar issues in my mother tongue Danish which isn't supported. Although it works to the intercom in Danish the majority of the time, sometimes the intercom feature is just best used in English if you don't want to risk it not recognizing you.
I have a original HomePod which I used sparingly in the kitchen over the last few years. I added 2 Mini’s, I put one in the bedroom and one in the kitchen whilst moving the original HomePod into the living room. Since adding the 2 Mini’s I have found myself using them all practically everyday. I think that’s what is KEY here. Unless you live in a very small living area then you are not going to get the most out of a HomePod unless you have a few of them. You need access to them around the house to take full advantage of the features. Mine are all black/space grey 👍🏼

If you're in with Apple already (iPhone etc) then this is great. I'm seriously thinking about replacing my Google speakers with these all over. But the Google Max is too good. We need the full sized HomePod back.

Great video! In my own experience with the HomePod mini, I can conclude that I hate it. The sound quality is very good, but I have way too many issues with connectivity that I end up being frustrated with it most of the time. So I eventually got a Bose and haven’t had any issues with that. Now my HomePod mini is collecting dust
I don’t use mine a lot, I usually use my echo show 8 or Echo. Hopefully that will change when Matter is eventually released this (fingers crossed). Not had any problems with connectivity tho. 🤔🤔

The HomePod mini is the worst Apple product I currently own. I wanted it so I'd have better speakers when I edit in Final Cut, but there is just too much lag from when I hit play on the time line and when sound actually starts to play through them. If I want to listen to music in the music app on my Mac I have to change the volume in Music and I can't use the system wide sound control found in the menu bar. They sound really good, but the connectivity between the speakers and my Mac makes it a poor user experience.
Purchase two Friday and return both today. I purchased a Google nest and connected flawlessly. I've been a loyal apple buyer, but they dropped the ball with this one. The connectivity is crap.
You don’t have to worry about saying “Hey Siri” out loud in your vids because it doesn’t activate like hey google. I want the blue one. I wanna pick a few of these up at some point
Great video, enjoyed the new intro. I have the space grey mini which sounds great in the office. I have a stereo pair of original home pods hooked up to Apple TV 4K. If you can source some, I’d definitely recommend them as they sound amazing. New Apple TV 4k also allows hdmi pass through when plugged into an earc port. Currently running ps5, series x, sky and Apple TV all through it and it sounds awesome.
Easy set up, attractive appearance, good sound quality, and integration into the Apple system are offset by AirPlay/HomePod software bugs that are too varied and numerous to name. The Apple experience here is quite disappointing. (All Apple hardware is new or recent and all software is up to date through 2021.)
I’ve been using two black Mini’s for a while now. Their sound is amazing and I control lights with them. Am expecting two more this week in orange and yellow respectively. I’ll pair them and the idea is to have two stereo pairs positioned just about in each of the four corners of my lounge. I hope this’ll allow surround sound. They’ll all connect to my Apple TV 4K and also play Apple Music via all four simultaneously? I hope I can achieve all four Mini’s in synch and at same volume without difficulties.
Yep, the same is done with my setup, just with the original home pods in stereo pair. I hope they enable surround sound capabilities soon, but until then, what I'm doing is having one pair set as the default audio output. Thereafter, via the apple tv, when you hold the home button in, an airplay function pops up where I select airplay to the other pair. This works flawlessly but does require you to connect, but luckily only takes a few seconds. P.S this was only added in the recent OS update, hence, it didn't work before. Let me know if you are facing other troubles.

Thank you for a great video. I would really appreciate any help on pairing just for use with a IPhone. I watched your explanation about touching the speaker etc but this does not appear to work. I have just bought a Yellow one to match the decor in my wife;'s sewing room and she just needs to use her iPhone as the source of her music and just stream to the HomePod. It does work but I am trying to find the simplest method and my wife is finding it difficult to use. Many thanks.

Yeah I’ve had issues with mine and the replacement that was faultier than the original one i had, so that too is now going in for repair

Surprised that the power cable is fixed. Seems like a poor design choice. Any damage to the cable would render the entire unit inoperable.
That's a fair point. I can't think of many items that have a fixed cable either.
