@@trendelinaquigley ... it gets really loud.. keep in mind it’s still a small speaker... so bass heavy songs won’t sound the the best.. yet it still does a really good job considering.. you CAN hear some bass and everything sounds clear..I’m thinking of getting a second one to take advantage of the surround sound... in comparison I think it sounds better then the old google home which is what I had previously

It is technically not a 'charger', it is just an adapter to a device that ALWAYS needs to be plugged in.
Technically, It’s called a power supply.
It’s not a charger, it’s a constant power supply. It wouldn’t even work without that power supply, there’s no internal battery. If there was an internal battery, I guarantee Apple wouldn’t include a charger.

Surprised to see attached, permanent power cord on the Mini. Thought it would be a chargeable wireless speaker. Hope you do a follow up review of Mac OS 11.0.1 Big Sur and if there are any glitches to look out for. Haven’t updated my laptop yet.👩💻

I am planning to get one for my Bedroom, because I have Apple Music, and my Roku did get an update that gave it a compatibility with Apple HomePod. If you link it with Apple Music, can you ask Siri to put on a Playlist you made on Shuffle?

say what you will about apple but setting up their products is so CLEAN (most of the time anyways)
Does Tap to Transfer work for general audio (non-music apps), for example Files app containing podcost files, audio lectures, etc?
What about stereo setup and surround sound features? Does it support any of these features? As always the review was clear and precise.👍
You can pair them now for stereo sound
Eventually you'll get a new homepod but you can keep the plug for your phone. I really like the attention that gets paid to the setup process because it used to be really nail biting.

Does the Intercom also work with iPhones that are on the same WiFi network?
I understand it has the best sound quality using the built in smart chip technology like that in the latest smart phone processors.
Amazon still has a major edge in terms of their echo dot family.
The echo family is more affordable , you can get 3 dots for the price of one mini.
With three big players in the mini market, I expect to see lots of improvements
in all of them and "maybe" a price drop in a year or so in the mini.

Can you test if the HomePod mini works with the 18 w charge adapter? I already read that on John grubers blog, that the mini is very sensitive with its power supply.

I must’ve gotten lucky. I chatted with Apple last night about in store pickup, cuz it wasn’t available on pre-order, and the rep told me to check the app in the a.m. and lo and behold, both colors available for in store pick up. I was able to snag 2. My pre-order shipment wasn’t going out for another 2 wks.

Nah, it wouldn’t replace the sound bar but perfect for homebridge setup but you need Apple TV 4K or. Previous generation. The volume is less anyway .
That would depend on the quality of the sound bar that you already have. The mini would be far better than any cheep sound bar.
