It’s not a charger, it’s a constant power supply. It wouldn’t even work without that power supply, there’s no internal battery. If there was an internal battery, I guarantee Apple wouldn’t include a charger.
Surprised to see attached, permanent power cord on the Mini. Thought it would be a chargeable wireless speaker. Hope you do a follow up review of Mac OS 11.0.1 Big Sur and if there are any glitches to look out for. Haven’t updated my laptop yet.👩💻

Well I just got it straight from the apple store and uhm it doesn’t connect it’s like I’m trying to connect it and it says “I’m sorry but try connecting to the internet” like what the heck how there’s no keyboard and it’s not even connected because as it said it needs internet to connect why god why plz help
the only missed opportunity with this one is not being able to take it anywhere ... wish it could unplug and be used as a wireless speaker so you can take it to different rooms in your house while still being on. but I guess it is on purpose so you buy a couple of them to cover ground. still!!

Yeah, this wasn’t made to be a portable speaker with internal batteries. I have a couple of Boom 3s for that though and they’re pretty cool. I’m tempted to get the charging docks for them but they’re pretty pricey as well
@@amjad9880 Yep, if they are part of the same home you can send intercoms from phone/iPad etc to HomePod or the other way round, but phone to phone has to go via the HomePod if that makes sense
I am planning to get one for my Bedroom, because I have Apple Music, and my Roku did get an update that gave it a compatibility with Apple HomePod. If you link it with Apple Music, can you ask Siri to put on a Playlist you made on Shuffle?
I understand it has the best sound quality using the built in smart chip technology like that in the latest smart phone processors. Amazon still has a major edge in terms of their echo dot family. The echo family is more affordable , you can get 3 dots for the price of one mini. With three big players in the mini market, I expect to see lots of improvements in all of them and "maybe" a price drop in a year or so in the mini. Cheers, Rik Spector

Nah, it wouldn’t replace the sound bar but perfect for homebridge setup but you need Apple TV 4K or. Previous generation. The volume is less anyway .
That would depend on the quality of the sound bar that you already have. The mini would be far better than any cheep sound bar.

This should have been designed cable free with a charging dock. That would have been sick. The wonderboom did it perfectly.

I only have one at the moment and intercom works fine. If it doesn’t work try a reset and that fixed it for me

Yes, it is 360 sound and the base is decent, but not amazing. The original home Pod has phenomenal sound

FYI, you can't yet use a stereo pair of HomePods (original or mini) as an output for your Mac.
This box is different from their other boxes, it looks cool. It has a different vibe to it.
