This is probably my favorite individual chapter in the game. I can only begin to put my love for this chapter into words. Just being melted together and creating something abstract where you're not alone, you can finally he done fighting and unlike the ending where you're tasked with ascending to godhood, you can simply just exist. Torn apart only by a desire to be separate. It's either her most cunning trick or the final place of respite from all the conflict that led you here
I just want to comment how the lines making up the trees in the beginning make me think of nerve fibers, which goes along with how the Princess says "We are a path in the woods." Edit: And then raocow goes and points it out like three and a half minutes further into the video than I was when I made this comment. I feel a bit silly now.
I'm absolutely with you on the fear of losing the self by sublimating to a hivemind, but there is something to the calculus that I personally find very intriguing, and that is this: how many minds are actually already at play here? At the most concrete, we have three you can enumerate: the Narrator, the Princess, and you. And the Narrator is imprisoning you and the Princess here. What's a little sublimation if it gives you the best odds possible of breaking out of your cage together?
Since you were a bit curious about the waiting thing, she means it! When you agree to wait 'forever', the game will close. And upon opening it again, she will welcome you back, as if nothing happend. Which makes sense, since this world stops spinning once you are not here to walk a path.
Bro she was tired and helpless. Doing that to someone like that with zero repercussions is unacceptable unless you're doing similar for a certain reason. Sure you could say the same thing about a number of different things but this is more than unique. Even if that was the case there is a better option you can do: cut the scene. Or follow through with the film and show the critics who the real director is.
Well, that was a choice that broke my heart.

There is no doubt in my mind that there is more to The Wild.
Of course there is. There's so much more. He needs to see all of it

I think rao is looking for the word 'singularity,' tho that's generally the combination of humanity and technology becoming one.
Instrumentality??

Also it changes based on how long you kept it closed; it goes all the way to millennia!
millenia? Now THAT is hardcore dedication in terms of design o.o
The idea of everything being one... You mean singularity?
I suspect he's referring more to "Human Instrumentality" or similar concepts where all minds become one big gestalt soup of consciousness(es)
@BobisOnlyBob So, a hive mind?
Interesting to see these choices, but never have I disagreed with every option so hard as this video.
...bruh
I definitely have some opinions on this route, and what the Wild wanted, but unfortunately they involve spoilers for a different route!
Witch -> Wild just makes sense, logically
So does the other one that leads to Wild
You had to slay her, she wanted the both of you to become a 2006 Disney cgi animated film, a horrid sin against nature itself.
