How to clean cylinder bores.

This is my best method for cleaning freshly machined cylinders. I have used WD-40 and rags, engine brushes with hot soapy water only to pull more gunk/grime out of the cylinders after with this method.

I so thought you were holding bacon in the thumbnail and was like wow what a waste of bacon, I use them at work they are great. Thanks for the tip.

So just to confirm it's okay to use the bristle to get off the hard stuff? What about a flex hone? Are those okay for cleaning rust off the cylinder walls?

mmm just a heads up.. ATF has friction modifiers and detergents. magic erasers when wet are abrasive.. you're basically wet sanding the cylinder. that's why you get material off... you're sanding it. I think magic eraser when wet is 3000 grit.
those big brushes are made of nylon and will not remove material. your method removes metal.. not cleans

Ya an if his cylinders were really clean like his claims, then the white rag wouldn’t come up with anything. We’re just supposed to take joe blows word which frankly sounds like a big ol douche.
