@ Yeah I thought the same on expense. It’s not the same but quite spendy for a hobby. After you build one and run it, what can you do with it except let it collect dust? I guess start a social media presence to try to cover some costs?
One of the great joys of UA-cam is the ease of learning new practical things, or at least appreciating the great knowledge, skills and advice of experts. This is a prime example of that. It’s a fantastic to see that tiny precision engineered assembly come to life after such meticulous effort. But let’s not forget the excellent camerawork and editing, without which the quality would suffer and much praise would be lost.
That is indeed demonstrating to the common and casual viewer such as myself the ingenuity, planning , patience and attention to detail shown by much brighter minds and very skilled hands!!
I remember back 65 years ago when I was a kid, building a the Visible V-8 model engine. It ran too but on battery power and it was all plastic. And it was a great learning experience. It familiarized me with the internal workings of an engine so that six years later when I worked on the real thing, I wasn’t intimidated. This one here, though, I am probably gonna look at getting one of these to play with. I love that it’s made of metal. Tell the truth I’m really sick of plastic!
The humanity and nature is sick of plastic, literally. In case you don't know about it: this crap material releases "micro plastics" on everything, and there isn't something on the body, on nature, that can desintegrate it, so it acumulates on the body of everyone, causing hormonal problems. Also, the recycle plastic thing is a farse, it does not work, it releases more mp.
Conversely, an engine 1,000’s of times this size, would function, were it possible to manufacture the parts - and hold it down ! This beautiful little machine is a work of art.
It can't work. Because the molecular structure of the materials used cannot form enough bonds for greater power and would crack. For a larger, more voluminous engine, you must use different materials and components.

It is more rattle than roar. It needs a tiny Italian-style resonator to bring out a full throated exhaust note.
