This is my best method for cleaning freshly machined cylinders. I have used WD-40 and rags, engine brushes with hot soapy water only to pull more gunk/grime out of the cylinders after with this method.

This is how you blend out or reduce minor imperfections in a gasket surface. Contrary to what I said after I properly cleaned the gasket surface I was not able to get the .0015 in feeler gauge to grab in the slightest.
