I'm really impressed when companies like Orange spotlight their overseas operations; it shows they not only value these employees, but that they're proud of the products coming out of these operations. Fernando, Mexico typically builds goods about half the cost of the USA. I believe China builds about 25% the cost of the USA. Here is a shocker, now China is moving middle class, they outsource to countries like Vietnam and Thailand which cuts their cost by 50%.

  • @krymsix574
    @krymsix574 4 роки тому +1

My guess is that even the UK made Orange amps are largely picking from the same parts bins and the biggest difference is very likely the assembly being done by hand either in China or in England that is determining which "made in x" inscription it gets.
There is no legal threshold for Made in England outside of final assembly, major change or majority of materials be sourced from the UK to be marked as Made there.

I ordered two 12inch ORANGE bass cabinets and just received them today. I opened the first one pulled it out and it looked great, opened the second box pulled the cabinet out and heard a rattling noise coming from the inside of the cabinet. I shifted it and maneuvered it in a way that I was able to reach in through the port hole in the back of the cab and grabbed what ever was rattling. To my surprise it was a freakin piece of chicken bone?! I was like dude no way!! It could have been a bone of another animal, but was 100% an animal bone. Has anyone ever experienced something like this before? I really don’t know what to think of it, but I will be calling ORANGE tomorrow.

Love my 35RT, but have a concern after watching this. Electronic components, IC chips, ... How come they're not utilizing Electro-Static Discharge practices to prevent component damage which could result in failure at one to two years downstream? Gloves, cardboard, and plastic can induce ESD.

Have you ever noticed that when it comes to meticulous work, no matter what country amps and other equipment are made in, it’s usually almost always women doing the work? Like Seymour Duncan pickups in the US, most of the winders are women. Seymour’s legendary pickup winder is Maricela “MJ” Juarez. Her pickups are highly sought after. It seems women have the patience and manual dexterity to do this work. So, my hats off to all the great women cranking out fantastic gear for all of us!

Well, I'm very pleased that people looks focussed on the operations and how it flows, but being critical it calls my attention that there's no static control, the cardboard or bubble wrap to cover the tabletops are not the best friends of electronics, I'll rather work more on the pieces handling, the stacking of boards is just a bad thing again for electronics, I liked the test stations being ran by experienced operators and following the given steps. As manufacturing stand point I didn't saw any work instruction or visual instruction just a diagram of components layout, it is good to relay on experienced operators, but for QC or business continuity is just a high risk, the well documented processes will ensure the QC and business continuity. Again, this is only my point of view and a lot of opportunities to improve, please don't hate me but High Quality means High Standards and this is the key for the customer satisfaction.

This video is very clever but with that in mind it still has completely re-installed my faith in the Orange products manufacured in PRC (China). I also admire the transparency that Orange and reputable manufacturers that dont try to hide. It took me years to get over that fact my Fender Telecaster I bought aged 17 in 1988 was made in Japan. I found out eventually the Japanese Tele's are regarded better for a variety of reasons than the USA . I've only the budget for an Orange PC212OB that im about to buy and have no problem with the model being made in PRC.
Away from music I remember my Dad in the mid 80s asking me "What car should I buy, that you like?". I said a Ford XR3. He replied, "i'm not buying one of those, thay are made in Daggenham, Essex by a UK team that probably dont really care about their production line!". But he DID buy an XR3. It was riddled with build problems from the start and over the few years we had it it never recovered and even started rusting in those few years! He bought an Audi after that :D

Amp doesn't really need craftsmanship like guitar. So basically it can be assembled anywhere in the world.
If one need to be concerns, it has to be the materials used, from glue, screws, frames to motherboard, no, they are not the same at different country even the mfg spec is the same.
We fought many quality cases with customer on their AVL when they decide to change country of supplies from the same supplier.

I imagine you produce them in China so you have lowered costs of manufacture. Then why you sell them in the price of an ENGLISH made Marshall or an American made Fender?

Aris Sp the premium products are not made in China. Only the cheeper stuff like the crush series is.

john joy bro I have an orange th30 that is made in China and on Thomann it costs 1100 euros while a Marshall JCM 800 studio series is 825 and is made in England.
First of all the th30 is built like a tank and it plays good I’m not saying that it sucks. But I can’t understand the price point. Every company has their factories in east Asia in order to have cheap labor. Then why you charge that much ???

@@charlieboyd2453 They use their tax cut from offshore labor and give it to foreigners instead of producing amps in their country and stimulating their own economy. Fantastic.

I was going to pass on the 100W 15" Bass combo when I found out they were made in China. Orange's website stresses made in England. I am still on the fence but at least this video helps address some of my concerns. I originally wanted the Ampeg combo but saw China on it and passed. I did find that the Boss combo's are built in Malaysia.. At least these workers look like they are well treated but the CCP is so disgusting and evil and doing business there rewards them. China is undergoing some huge turbulence at the moment.

All I know is my foreign-made Les Paul is a much better quality build than my USA-made one :/
And the foreign-made one was a little over $1000 dollars cheaper

Jake D because they would be so expensive that you would complain that you want them to be cheaper, thus most of their amps are made in China, but it still is extremely high quality made gear. Although if you’re willing to spend the money they do make some of their gear in the uk
