man, I think Orange have always been the most impressive amps you've shown on your channel.

Orange are great amps for sure. I’ve had a few Orange amps. I currently use a 50 watt 5153 el34 paired with a 2x12 orange. Sounds phenomenal for metal tones

Getting that old school death metal sound when you first switched to the overdrive channel. Very nice.
I have his older bigger brother, the Rocker 30, and it does it very well

I'm really interested in Orange amps now. I want that old school dm sound and it seems to be easy achieve with one of these.
It sounds way fatter than with the overdrive.
It's cause alot of old school death metal bands used early rat pedals which were more like a fuzz than a distortion.
For everyone asking, the riff at the 9:38 mark is called Psycho Logic by Feared. Pretty badass riff, I gotta say 🤘🏼

I've had this amp in the combo version for about two years now. Two sets of power tubes sacrificed. It is the power behind my Tone Henge. Phenomenal sounding amp. The Dirty channel will Doom thru the Apocalypse. Will always recommend the Rocker 15. Get an eq and run it through the loop. Stunning results.
You know Ola is digging the rig when he goes to town on the riffage 🤘🤘

That's why I love Boss pedals so much. The fact that it's so convenient to not only have the option to have it powered by a 9 volt battery, but the fact that they make it so easy to access where the 9 volt goes...amazing. The first pedal I bought when I moved to Montreal was a Metal Zone pedal and...quite frankly, I regret selling it lol
Orange has amps named "Terror" and "Dark" and "Thunder" and "Dual Dark" but they're geared to blues artists?!? Good to know. I'll be sure to check out that blues band Mastodon when they come to town. ;)
I play both metal and blues. Though I'm mostly a bassist, all my amps are Orange. My search is over.
‘Terror’ is just for their lunchbox metal enclosures.

I love Orange amps and I've really had my eye on this one. I was definitely excited to see Ola demoing it this week. The Rocker pretty much sounds like I was expecting so I guess it's time to order one, thanks Ola!
This rig in drop D sounds like a chainsaw, and I love it. For everyone asking about the riff at 9:40, it’s the Feared song Psycho Logic, but tuned up to drop D. Ola did a longer play through version of it in his “Mesa dual rec metal/rock” vid. Sounds killer
I got one of these earlier this year and absolutely love it. I run mine through an orange ppc212 closed back. man...the punch in this amp is unreal. It's so percussive on the chugs it's almost drum-like
I have the same rig; except my Cab is angled. The natural channel sounds insanely good with a boost or overdrive. The dirty channel.... well. You’re hearing it. F***ing awesome amp.

How loud does this thing get? Loud enough for a two guitar metal band?
How loud does that clean channel stay before it starts breaking up, unpushed?
@@79champions if you're after a loud super clean channel then this ain't for you mate, it will get fairly loud before it distorts but....
As for playing in band and what have you.... easily loud enough
Love the boss super overdrive. I've kept it over the tube screamers.
I've gotten a really good tone on the rectifier vintage mode without any pedals!

In love with the 3 band eq! Hated the lack of that on my micro terror ( but it's a heck of an amp for under 200). This rig is killer!

I bought this amp a week ago. I love it! I don't really play chuggy metal, though. Love the fuzzy, fat overdrive of the Rocker 15 Terror.
Nice video! I like the sandpaper grit sound character and the strong openness of the sound. No fluff in the muff there!

Nice to see you playing it and coming to the same conclusions, a solid and open sound.
This amp is a monster of versatility, and is loud enough to gig and rehearse, who could ask for more ! I was hesitating with a Dark Terror but... Two channels, solid Rock sounds, ventures into the Dark Terror territories when boosted AND with better mids (to my ear, at least), so you can really play a wide range of things, from Blues to Thrash/Death/Black Metal.
And when you use a Big Muff in place of the overdrive, in front of the dirty channel, you get a killer Doom/Stoner sound, with the square sound of the fuzz but without its messy lack of precision in the attack.

@@MehWhatever I tested one through a rockerverb 50. Punishing to say the least.
I bought one of these because of this video, and it really is excellent. With a full band for rehearsals, playing stoner rock, it needed to be louder, so I take the effects loop out and route it to a ‘76 Fender Bandmaster (40w), going to a Marshall 1960 4x12 (Vintage 30s), and the speaker out goes to another 1960 4x12. This gives a really nice, fairly loud, smooth but powerful sound. An Ibanez Tubescreamer and MXR Phase 90 are pretty much all I need pedal-wise. Awesome, meaty rig that doesn’t rip your ears off, but punches you pleasantly in the stomach 😅.
Great amps. Had a thunderverb and a micro dark terror.. definitely needed pedals to get the right sound for metal.. but the mini terror dark chugged great through my 4 *12 cab without any pedals.. built for a beating and sound great..they have come along way over the years... cheers ola ...great job as always.
Just bought one of these....I'm a total metal head...haven't used an overdrive yet on it....I still love it....I feel like that says something

Dude! I use an Orange OR100 and a Rocker 30, and the Boss SD-1 is THE pedal for pushing them off the edge. I dunno what it is, but the minor difference between it and a tube screamer makes a huge difference. It adds just a little lower eq on the mids that makes them growl.
even that I own this one already, I come back to this video from time to time just to see someone else letting the rocker growl :)
That's is one hell of a tone. It's like it was designed with detuning particularly in mind. Honestly, it's one of my favorite ones you've done so far.
Well orange is used by alot of doom metal bands and down tuning is a major part of doom metal.
Love the Mastodon-type riffage at the beginning!
Good tone ola, at first I would put a metal zone with the gain on zero in front of my micro dark, now I use a ts/eq combo. I agree with the treble thing,

Thunderverb (TH) series from Orange are way more suited for metal. You should try the TH30, with a boost in front, it's terrific!

I got an OR-15 and it is bloody amazing!
The first thing I do with a new pedal is always take the battery OUT.
If you forget about the battery and leave it in there after a couple of years it can leak and destroy the pedal.

don't have to worry about that with a Boss pedal. They were designed with the battery compartment separated from the pcb just for that reason.

The strong points of this amp are the mid gain crunch tone, it does that better than any other amp apart from its OR15 sibling, and its all out gain maxed death metal tone. This thing has a hint of HM2 built in if you whack it up all the way and turn up the mids. Coincidentially it also sounds sick with an actual HM2.

Awesome demo, ola. \m/ the amp sounds killer and it's pretty cool to see you playing a 7-string guitar. I own 2 7-string guitars and they sound awesome. I do like the low b tuning a lot. I own an orange micro dark for my guitars and it sounds killer for a small guitar amp. it handle 7-sting guitars very well. orange amps are really awesome for metal. \m/

Orange amps are awesome. I always look for bluesy sounding amps because modern drive pedals are so powerful they will kick an amp into the metal zone 🥴 in a heartbeat 😎

I love this amp. My settings keep changing lol. I used to have a FS with the dist channel with the gain on 8 with a bit of a high boost. But now I leave it on 6.5 ish with TS in front to get a nice switch from slightly dirty cleans to metal crunch.
Well now thanks to you i finally understand the hieroglyphs on the orange and can properly set them up to my liking

Chuck Berry played on Orange amps too. Those amps go far back. The swiggly lines were to make the amps international, no language barriers. Fun facts, gnarly playing!
Orange makes Ola sings ! Nothing more to add :) I have a CR120 and I would be interested by your opinion on this particular one (I know you did a small crush amp review). Considering it is all transistors, it has a really good sound too! Maybe one day you will consider testing it :)

Both the Orange Crush Mini amps I ordered came with a 9V battery. Boss Pedals and Orange Amps just want the players to play. 🤘
