Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Škoda Octavia 2022

- The Škoda Octavia was originally assessed in 2019. The updated car has been reassessed against 2022 protocols, with some 2019 tests carried over where applicable.
Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

My 2015 model works better. I have driven more than 5 km, sometimes pushing the steering wheel a bit, while the horn sounds.
This is the Emergency Lane Assist, maybe that is not the same as the active lane assist?
Why is offset crash only 50 now? I thought it was 64 for goodness knows how long. I think 60-80 head on is more real world.
Yep, just did a search.. this 50km/hr thing is new, was 64 km/hr for many years. What a ridiculous new change! I'll stick to IIHS thanks.

@@milancsatai1602 I am sorry but they clearly state, you can read it yourself, that the 64KM test recreates a scenario where 2 cars of similar weight collided head on, both travelling at 64KM/H. Unless they were lying for 15 years?
I recommend the Vw Golf V crash test at 100 km/h. This car is armored. There is only one king. It's Rabbit.
