Euro NCAP January 2022 Press release www.euroncap.com/en/press-med...
Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

In general, Škoda Fabia is actually safe. And is one of my favourite cars. I expected that! Bravo, Škoda!
Look at the way it holds it’s ground
I guess that air filter can be re-used.
Solid performance. Windscreen doesn't even crack in front impact
at 50 km/k. It s pretty safe for a city small car
@@aandrei26 All the front impact tests are performed at 50km/h no matter the type of car
Well done Škoda excellent all round results, I have just taken delivery of my new Fabia, the many effective safety measures are reassuring to see
Quite a good score for a subcompact.
Not Subcompact But Hatchback.
@@Beamngncap_official The Škoda Fabia is classed as a subcompact car.
@@DaveDVideoMaker no - its B segment
@@NoName-md5zb B segment and subcompact are the same thing.
Skoda's are just phenomenal
This isn't german brand its czech
@@Beamngncap_official When did he say its german xd
@@Beamngncap_official Technically it is German since its part of the VAG group
Fabia is best car❤️
Very good
Safe little fella. Very good car
any difference in crash performance for RHD vehicles?
Νo not at all
For the ones who go on the wrong direction?... Seriously, the car industry (mostly german) should say to the weird ones that is time to change your roads and adapt to be normal, if I was those car companies I would never expend an extra euro to make special cars for the special people!, I just hope they charge extra for the extra task of having to make weird opposite cars for you
@@JP-xd6fm while the UK probably should have changed over to the right decades ago to match the majority of the world it would be impossible to change now, and it's not like the UK is the only left driving country, it's still about a third of the world. To change it would cost billions upon billions to repaint road markings, change signs, replace every single bus, reconfigure roads, some would need to be dug up and completely re engineered, it would be impossible to change over, for what exactly?
@@grassytramtracks Sure it will be costly, but something had to be done after brexit otherwise the economy will collapse and the unemployment rate will rise... But seriously, you're right now is too late for the change, autonomous vehicles will be here in a couple of decades so the steering wheel will disappear for good.
Ok! Skoda top!
Very safe :)
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yes, I like this. It’s an Audi A1 but instead of it being in a tuxedo suit it’s in Czech tweed
stop, Samir, stop, you are damaging Škoda Fabia! Samir!
Front part is starting looks like a bmw, what’s going on? but I like it
Probably just personal thinking, as for me I don't see any BMW references
Though they (Skoda) are a part of VW
👏👏👏👏👏
when will fabia come Turkey?
Bende merak ediyorum

I’m hoping lane assist isn’t standard on cars as when overtaking u use yr signal but when pulling back in u just pull back in on a signal carriageway.
Those tests are irelevant because a lot of creshes happens at higher speeds, and the forces grow exponetialy.
These replicate when you press the braked, from 100kmh, a modern car should be able to even avoid, but if not, 50 is the closest
I think it scales pretty well for a bit higher speed aswell. Also there is no good data for this, but i'm pretty sure that the average crash speed is much closer to 40mph than 60mph. Especially with increasing amount of emergency brake systems.
"Safety assist" category should be removed from Euro NCAP as it is just electronic gizmos section - nice to have, but must not be rated as safety equipment. It is in same category with electric windows or climate control or interval wipers or cupholders etc. All those help driver, but driver still must drive the car, not those helpers drive. For that reason, all electronic helpers must be excluded of car safety ratings. If you can not without them, you can create separate rating for all that mumbo-jumbo.
well, it’s nice to be alive when you fall asleep behind the wheel. ya, they are electronic gizmos, but they’re trying to prevent you from falling down a cliff when you’re not paying attention.
@@vojtechvokoun What a stupid view. It has been always illegal to drive, if you are not fit to.
@@SiiliViin these are safety precautions, in case if it DOES happen. Most cars in EU are already fitted with these, even vans and trucks
And they are different from the personal needs (aka windows, etc), and the driving safety tech (lane keep, aeb, etc)
These ad in to the safety rating as the car is much more safer than the ones not fitted with these. On the website, it has markings if the tech is optional or not
Every day those "mumbojumbo" things prevent thousands of minor and major collisions. Average driver is not a perfect stunt driver with perfect awareness.
I am scared of lane assist, I think it can make you crash, like for example you change lanes or merge without blinkers and the car will steer back. Or you overtake but when getting back in lane you'll not use blinkers as it adds time (overtakes need to be as fast as possible) and the lane assist will steer back. I never drove a car with lane assist but this is what scares me.
l will never subscribe to Europe ncap Because you said it 's safe
because it’s safe
Very interesting. So fabia got 70% for Vulnerable Road Users, but performed much worse than fiat 500e which got 67% in the same test. At least they post the video so one can be the judge.
Cheap car for 12,000 euros for newbie drivers, pizza delivery, learning drivers, and taxi. It's safe compared to the Spring which is 19,000 (but electric) very unsafe for 2023 and its price.
Шаг и мат всем кто думает что Шкода "гавномобиль"
What about this air filter, it likes to take off, what to say, german quality😂😂😂
The car is being crashed, what do you expect? I hope you're joking
Hmm, the marginal ratings on the children's heads isn't great.
