Gentleman Gamer reminds me of tourists I encountered when I lived in the Middle East that would be uncomfortable or upset that a lot of people there do not adhere to American sensibilities of political correctness.
Watched this a few days ago, not sure if this was the one you mentioned it in or not, but in regards to making a vampire themed ttrpg. It certainly wouldn't be a world anyone would like to actually live in. I've been working on a couple different theme ttrpgs of my own. One is space exploration, one is Fantasy. I sort of had a third horror themed one that actually is what started me on making the other two, system-wise. I have been going back and forth in that one whether or not to make it all vampires or have them be one theme you can follow as part of the larger horror genre. Your comment made me wonder, who would this game be for and who would I actually get to play it if someone in my group found VtM off putting? As you said, we want to be the hero. I think it would be different too though if the players were all vampires, but in the game the "lore" of vampires is not of supernatural origin. Vampires not being damned, but rather being "cursed" by some biological mutation are in still human in the sense that they are quasi-living and have their memories. I would still have a humanity system, the way I thought of it is nearly a reverse hero point system. I think it would be neat to have a system free from the baggage of being a damned creature, but at the same time I don't think it would be as fun to be a murderous addict either. Edit: I think too thematically, rather than a mechanical difference could make making such a game more enjoyable. While different in tone, I can see a game where you still have personal horror with a side of the chance of overcoming personal evil having a heroic charm to it.

Randomly ran across the interview y'all did with Trevor and loved the discussion there, and went on to check out a bunch of the other videos from there. You are saying people like gentleman gamer lack empathy, i believe this is wrong. I was talking about the grey goo problem and how the progressive signaling is completely meaningless with a VtM fan I know. They were incensed that I wasn't against the Yartzees enough due to questioning the slop being produced by the mass market. The same lack of spine and excuse-making made by the Gentleman Gamer was plentiful. It is like these people are made in some sort of bad takes lab.
Things have been over and under sexualized. The healthy middle ground where we celebrate beauty but don’t act like dopamine machines is much smaller now. Now everyone either doesn’t care about beauty or they make an idol of the basest form of beauty. Also the enlightenment isn’t to blame Neitzhe is. I won’t elaborate because it’s self evident
I have one minor bone to pick: the repeated use of "painting lamb's blood" I think it is really misused in this case, because if you refer to the source material, the lamb's blood actually protected those who had it, whereas virtue-signalese confers no such protection.
To people like the Gentleman Gamer, it's not that every media is about or has politics in them, it's that every media has to have either the correct or wrong politics according to him. Thing is, people like him don't actually *have* politics, they have a secular religion. They worship The State and to them, the government apparatus is the holy temple and they want to be in it lording over the plebs. This is why they believe everyone that doesn't follow the will of the collective is corrupt and evil. This is why they don't simply create their own thing but have to instead destroy other IPs that haven't converted to their one true God. And because it is a religion to them and the tenets they follow based solely on belief, they lack any true conviction in their positions and so look constantly, DESPERATLY, for signs and reinforcements that their faith is the one true path.
It seems like quite a few people feel they need to toe the line in order to not get cancelled..... I'll say the phrases and buzz words, I'm still relevant!
I enjoyed Gentleman gamer videos as some vibe videos back when I played 3rd (revised) / 4th (20th anniversary) editions. Not sure how his videos stacks up now that Im older and the content got launched in 5th edition
We still play AD&D & 1-3e vtm. Can't stand the v5 socialist crap they keep pushing & nearly all of the livestreams are just tedious, arrogant, celeb/brand name-dropping bs. I miss the richer history that's typically played out in longer campaigns & less the teenage/college emotional incontinence. Make VTM great again!
