- Опубліковано 11 лип 2018
- In this tutorial, I show you how to make a color palette in Adobe Illustrator in seconds. This is a quick and easy way to build a set of colors and swatches in seconds (literally). This works on all versions of Adobe Illustrator CC and a few older versions as well.
This is also the first of my new "Quicktorial" series. These are essentially short tutorials showing you exactly what you need you to know in as short amount of time as possible. Hope you enjoy!

Nice tutorial but I would like to ask where do you get your wallpapers?
Mostly Unsplash.com but sometimes I’ll google search for a specific one
Thx
great start for me in 2020 ha ha
Can we do this for all colors ?
Well this is more a video on how to use a tool in illustrator than generating a palette
This is fabulous! Can anyone share how to save that color palette to my swatches for future projects?
1:25 onward didn't work on mine though. After the 'expand', the object were still in group( when I click it you can see the outlines of each boxes separated but still in group ), I changed the color on the first box but the others didn't follow same thing on moving it. I though I could make the magic you did but I failed. Sad :(
One more thing I'd noticed, when you click your box I saw it in your layer named "Blend''. Mine was "Group" maybe this is the issue though but I don't know how to fix this. Help anyone please?
@@spacebluemoth8320 I had the same issue. As I understand it, listen to what he says at 1:30. the expand command locks the shapes. if you want to change the colors, you have to go back to when you hadn't expanded the object and only do the expanding, if you are sure, you don't want to change the colors anymore. that worked for me
When you expand the shape, it essentially makes all the shapes individual. They are no longer related to each other. Don't expand it and you will only be able to edit the first and last square, which will do the magic on the inbetweens.

Is it possible to do this with more than 2 colors? Thanks!
yes
It worked for me up to the point of expanding it. Then it would not let me move the squares like you did or recolor them.
Because you expanded. The video says, if you don't expand, you can still affect the colours. Give it another go without expanding and it works.
@@danbobs25 I tried it again and I was able to change the colors on the non-expanded blend as you said. After several attempts, I was also able to move the squares like he did, in a linked format but not as a solid block. So thank you. I think the instructor should have been more clear about that, but I'm glad you explained it.
why i cant do the last step?
looks like a nice tutorial but I'm stuck in greyscale
Very helpful
